My son, Tristan, who is just a month away from turning 2, is ready to potty train! xd He told us he had to "poo-poo" but at first we only thought he had told us he went. He's asking to pee-pee, too! The only problem is...he's afraid to sit on the toilet. We hold him up and encourage him, but he's scared of falling through. SO, Thursday, we're buying him a potty and one of those cushy-seats we can take with us when we go out. We've been showing him the potty he's going to get and he knows what it'll be used for and all that.
I'm so excited! I almost cried cuz I was so happy and proud when he told us he needed to poop!! heart

Aw that's awesome! Did he just... decide he's ready? That's good!

Well...we bought his potty last Thursday, and he's used it twice since then. I'm taking it very, very slow with him, because I'm thinking he's still not 100% ready. He does enjoy sitting on it with his pants down, though, and he "reads" a book while he sits. It's really cute. He just doesn't want to be told when to go, and he hasn't told us he needs to go anymore. So, we got the potty and he knows what it's there for now, so maybe he'll be ready-ready real soon. 3nodding

That's so cute. I hope you'll have an easy and successful time potty training. Sounds like you've got the right attidude about it too. 3nodding

Okay, really jealous! My daughter is 2 yrs 8 mos and while she loves her Thomas and Friends potty, she won't actually use it. She just sits there for twenty minutes... and she totally denies poops, even when there's a toxic green cloud following her. (^-^)

Congrats! I'm in the stages of introducing the idea of using a potty to my son. Just wondering if there where any videos or maybe books that you bought for him to get the ball rolling. I'm asking since my son knows what the potty is used for, will pull his own pants down, will wipe himself, even hides when he has to poop, but he won't let us know when he needs to poop or pee. I know this isn't something that I can force him to do, but maybe a video will encourage him along.
