Judge: "You may begin when ready."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:16 am

Westly stood in the center of the arena. No tricks this time, really. He was entirely too surprised with the outcome. He had nothing prepared for this eventuality.

"And so, it seems, my career as a Genin ends the way it began. Show yourself, Fisher King. The Faerie Prince awaits."

(( The genius against the underdog. The favored bet against the dark horse. This is either going to be the shortest fight of all time, or the most epic battle since Neji vs. Naruto. Here's to hoping for the latter! *raises a glass of rum*))

((I take it we can't just give Jin an extention then. Oh... I was having fun...))

"Huh? How'd a crazy guy like ya get dis far in da tournament anyway?" Yamado said walking into the arena with a large, ceiling fan strapped to his back, it was slightly manhandled but functional all the same.

"Ah it don' matter dough, Ah'm ready ta fight ya, Ah know 'nough 'bout ya ta deal wit' yer tricks."

Pulling out his main spear he made a beconning motion. "Now come ahead!"

((HeHeHe!! Despite the fact that I was so sure that Jin would beat me and I wouldn't get to fight you, I have so many ideas of how to take you down, also, out of curiousity would getting drunk be a half counter to some genjustsus? Since I think some genjutsus only work if the victim truly believes them to be real or would hurt them, would sending a giant bison at a drunk guy work if he thinks he's invincible and could easily take it down, while he'd be trampled to death by a real one? Of course they'd still see it and be distracted by it and illusions like 'I'm not over there I'm over here' would still be effective.))

(( I dunno. I mean, if you think about it, getting sufficiently drunk can make you hallucinate large exotic animals even without a Genjutsu. Ever heard of drinking so much you see pink elephants? I might argue that being drunk would make you more susceptible than usual. Impaired judgment does not equal resistance. Increased gullibility, though? DO WANT.

Also, don't mean to be a bother and open with an all-OOC post, but... well, I think you kind of need to describe the "large, commonplace object" on your back. You can't actually hide things in plain sight by refusing to describe what they look like, thereby rendering them formless. That would be the sort of weird trippy thing Westly might try pull for a joke, but not in a fight where the outcome matters. ))

((*pouts* ...Fine... a large ceiling fan... Also I agree that being drunk would make you more gullible in reards to whether or not the pink elephants are there or not, just that if stepped on one'd be able to easily overpower them and lift them in the air rather than the sensation of being crushed, simply because one truly believe they can.))
PostPosted: Wed Jan 07, 2009 7:39 am

(( That's... not how Genjutsu works. Barring some bizarre pseudo-bloodline ability, it is not possible to affect a Genjutsu through delusional behavior, like believing you can throw elephants. ))

Westly blinked. "...is that? No, I don't wanna know. Actually, wait, I already figured it out. A ceiling fan? I have to give you credit for being the first person to realize just how much my style gets screwed over by wind, but seriously. Come on. Save it for the Wind-nin. You have no way of generating enough power to keep that moving, or to get it to move quickly enough to be more than a mild nuisance. Observe."

Westly tossed down a mist bead between himself and Yamado, and then quick-drew his crossbow and fired it. He wasn't tempted to spend the chakra necessary to use a Mist Summon until he was convinced of precisely how much of a problem that fan was going to be. It couldn't possibly stop him, but even a mild hindrance could add up quickly. Westly was not a man known for having endless chakra reserves.

(( Pre-empting what I believe you're about to complain about, Westly has two hands. Drawing and firing a loaded crossbow can be performed with one hand. Drawing a ball and tossing it in a vaguely general direction can be performed with one hand. The actions can, therefore, be performed simultaneously without too much effort, especially since only one of them is truly being aimed. ))

Ducking under the shot aimed at him, Yamado reached behind him and pulled the fan off his back, hurling it at Westly like one would a fuma shuriken. Yamado formed a short series of handseals while he seemed to grit his teeth.

((Writing this at work, just want to say that yesterday my home's internet gave out on me, but it's hopefully fixed by now. Also, regarding Jin's fight I wouldn't be against either cancelling this fight to resume me and Jin's or even just making this a three-way fight, if that's okay.))

Westly smacked the fan to the ground, tossed an exploding tag on it, and dodged to one side, half because he saw Yamado doing something, and half because he was dodging his own explosion.

The fan was a smoldering wreck.

Westly glanced at his hand and made a face. "Tsk. I think that's going to leave a welt. A bruise to get that thing out of play is a fair trade, I'd say. Next time, get a custom job. Sharp metal is a bit more dangerous than blunted wood. I would've lost my arm if I'd tried that."

Finishing the final seal Yamado reached up and pulled out the ninja wires he had held between his teeth. "Go-Hyaku Volt! (500 Volts)" Yamado called out as electricity seemed to flow around his hands (note: the mist has yet to reach Yamado by this point).

Electricity flowed from his hands, into the metal wires and into the flayed ends of the fan's own wires, set up so that it wouldn't come undone easily even when thrown. The fan started moving much faster than usual given the extra voltage, and the fans blades while not made of the strongest material would still give a formidable blow when it hit.

Yamado watched as Westly smacked the fan to the ground, he had been hoping to hit Westly in the side but injuring one of his hands was a nice constellation prize.

Yamado grinned as Westly blew up the fan and jumped to the side.

Grabbing a mini spear from his side he threw it at Westly's new position, hoping to hit him while he was still off balance from dodging the explosion and while the mist had yet to fully cover the battlefield.

'As if a lil' mist'll scare me!' Yamado thought devilishly while he ran at Weslty, hoping to keep him off balance before he could do the handseals for a genjutsu.

(( As a general rule, if you're going to do something with a projectile while it's still in midair, you do it before you give your opponent a chance to react.

Also, it's mist. Not magical blinding nerve gas; mist. You don't have to be in the cloud for it to block your vision. It's just a large, opaque cloud... that is currently situated directly between the two combatants. ))

Yamado's spear missed by around five feet, mostly because he couldn't see Westly in the slightest. The mist was in the way. The mist wasn't everywhere, it was just directly between the two of them, and the cloud was wide enough for some leeway.

Westly took up a defensive stance. He wasn't the best practitioner of Tai'Chi, but he knew how to deal with a charging opponent. Usually, I'm the one charging, he thought.

He did a quick glance behind him while he had a chance. Reflex, mostly, just to see if anything was there. One of the best uses for a charge, he'd found, was to distract an opponent from a rear attack.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 08, 2009 6:56 pm

((Okay, first of all it was you who assumed that my handseals had nothing to do with the the fan I threw, I just continued with my move, secondly I was implying that because I wasn't in the mist I wasn't shocked by my own attack because as I remember it you think that using an electric attack in mist causes it to shock everyone in it (as shown in your first fight with what's his name who apparently knew chidori and blew up the area with you jumping out of the mist and him not being affected by his own chakra).))

Running through the mist Yamado's form was obscurred (though Westly probably knew where he was by knowing where the mist wasn't... yeah you'll have to explain that one to me later...) and he smirked as he prepared another technique, one that he had been saving for sometime, despite how cliché it may be (I'll assume that while you may know where Yamado is you can't see what he's doing.).

Emerging from the mist, his cheeks puffed slightly, and his lighter in hand, he focused on Westly, pursed his lips and spat out a ball of high proof alcohol, igniting with the aid of the lighter, speading out slightly as it flew through the air to be about the size of a watermelon at Westly as he stood in his Tai'Chi stance.

"Spitting Wolf!!" Yamado cried as the alcohol left his lips in a way that could only be done in a Shonen anime. (If you can get the reference for this technique, you get a cookie.)

((P.S. Yamado knows very few actual ninjutsus; the three basic academy techniques, his volt jutsu (haven't thought of a proper name yet), hensou no jutsu and one more that I saved especially for you. However he makes up for that with his use of his spears, wire, alcohol, whit, unpredictablity and general disregard for pain but most importantly his alcohol.))

Westly made a handseal. "Around here, it's called Thousand-Proof Jutsu. It's one of the signature moves of a man I've spent months trying to figure out how to kill. You ignite high-grade alcohol sprayed from the mouth; over-proof rum, in your case, if I had to guess. It mixes with air in the process, as the combustion reaction cannot occur without a sufficient oxygen mixture. The chemical term for this is 'aerosol'. But do you want to know what the common-use word is for a liquid mixed with air?"

Westly grinned, and thrust both hands at Yamado, palms outward. "Mist."

The fuel changed direction, and the flames followed, backdrafting right back at Yamado's face. Kind of like spitting into the wind, really.

(( I fully realize that it is completely impossible for Westly to say that much in the second or so that he has to react, and I apologize for my breach of conduct in that regard. ))
PostPosted: Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:01 pm

((Oh there's no problem with long-winded rants in the middle of a fight, hell if we wanted to make this fight more like Naruto, then we should probably have a flashback about what we had for breakfast this morning or at least our last fight.

Secondly, does burning alcohol really go under your juristiction of controlling mist?! After using alcohol to dull pain, make a molatov cocktail, treat wounds and probably other stuff I can't remember, to have you just, just... cockblock me like that... harsh dude... crying ))

Caught by surprise of having his own technique bounced back at him Yamado could only gasp in shock as the alcoholic blaze hit him square in the face.

Quickly dropping to the ground, Yamado began rolling around so as to put it out, all the while crying out, "HOT!! HOT!! HOT~~~!!!" as he extinguished the fire. The growing mist finally rolling over him and providing some minute relief to his reddened skin. Oddly enough his hair had also seemed to have formed from a messy/spikey style into a bad perm.

((There I gave you this one you cocky b*****d, I still say that you wouldn't have been able to react so perfectly to an attack Westly should not have been ready for, you know: Tai'chi stance, injured hand, glancing behind you, all small factors that added together could make performing such an act quite difficult. Oh and by the way Spitting Wolf is used by a relatively minor but pretty awesome character from King of Bandits Jing.))
