I've been going around trying to be more active in a whole new way, and while i have been succesful it has almost come to my attention...

GUILD'S DYING

I know i'm not the only one saying it cause i've seen posts with people declaring this. I know i said a lot of rude things before so i did not want to say it in a real mean way but ya I do like this guild. It is extremely cool and there are a lot of good semi-normal peeps in here.

So i was wondering if people got anything to say because ya its sorta important. You don't have to agree you can disagree but if you agree talk about and see if you want to try something to pick up the pace?

I've been here for over a year now, and their has been up and down a slow decline until now...

I you ask me it has a lot to do with the masters... theirs way to many masters on here than just drift on and off leaving their apprentices behind to fend for them selves and eventually their ultimate doom and leaving... and thier never around to pick up new people who request to join... i myself have had to pick up the pieces with Kiyo not around...

we def need to clean this place out of old threads, and get new blood in here to train and spread to their friends.... that and keep up big events like wars and royals, to keep people interested and coming back to rp...

As quoted from a recent post in my element's thread, the guild isn't dying.... we were never that lively to begin with.

But yes. I agree with the too many inactive Masters part. Gler is glad the new system is in place for inducting and impeaching Masters. If we put this into practice, things would go a bit better with the guild.

And yeah... maybe some threads need to be trimmed, as well. We have a perfectly good recycle bin subforum that we never (should) use.

i won't lie for my inactiveness here cause everyone knows it is true. But i guess i'm trying. but then there are those who just want to be one and then leave....

Sadly, i agree with all of you, mainly on the master's part. We need to ensure that only active masters are kept... One bad seed can ruin a lot of things.

Also, we need the publicity thread, and sumi and i are going to work on that soon enough.

The fact that the guild is so inactive is one of the big reasons why i wanted to become a mistress, so i could help. Dont worry, if we work hard enough we'll get through this and flourish into the awesome guild we are DESTINED to be!!!

We just need the masters to set the ACTIVE example ... ._.

Shishishi.. That's why I quit being the Thunder Mistress. It's not that I'm not active, I just don't contribute much. ;'D

the guild's dying..ya darn tootn it is..and wahah i did it is it's last string.

but yeah korik's got a point.. it's likely that more peeps would still rp if the elites of each element were to still be here; i'm aware that they have lives though.

and we can always put the guild down...with a couple of bullets?...just putting the option out there(places option out there)

I believe too much resentment has been focused on the masters. Apprentices shouldn't rely on their masters. We're all humans capable of writing our own stories and learning how to do things on our own. There's other people in this guild that know the basics of each element and apprentices are more than capable of making their own training threads.

About the new master system, it's already been used to filter out candidates who aren't up to par and who certainly deserve the position. Oh and don't you worry, the demotion part of the new system will be in full power within two weeks, guarantee.

As for saying masters are inactive, there's a multitude of reasons why. Most masters are 16 or above, which means college is around the corner, or already going on. Everyone should understand that in comparison to real life and getting on for seven hours to train an apprentice, its definitely college. Let's face it, employers won't care about your knowledge with fighting people with elementals.

Gler makes a very valid point though; this guild has never really been pulsing with activity. Its basically always the same people who post, and has been that way for the past three years. Nothing big, just the way this guild functions. But a ton of us have become closer friends outside of the guild through Gaia events or instant messaging.

We just can't make this as popular a guild as many want it to be, that too is something we just can't accomplish. Think of it though. Do any of the crew members know more than one other person's real life name in a guild such as Why Not? Nothing against Why Not (cus I'm a member of it) its just not as personal as E.R. has become for many members.

Just please stop blaming masters for the activity levels of the guild. Its no one's fault at all that we only have 30 active members. Well that's it I guess.

Ok, i freaking love you pumpkinbutt. ._.

He is absolutely right, masters are not the guiding lights of the elements, it's the apprentices that make it. And i truly like this guild because its up-close and personal 99.9999999% of the time! MUCH Better than many other's i've seen and/or been in.

Here is the REAL question.

Will we let it be as it is and get a small trickle of new apprentices, but get to know them very well, or forsake close relations and make this a gigantic guild?

strange i didn't say nothing about blaming the masters. i even mentioned they im aware that they have lives. i just said that it's likely that people will still rp if the elites were still posting. With a few members posting in the element that's coo, but if it's just one person posting, it's like uhhhhhhh...hello?

Plus everybody knows im the c**k ring of the guild. unnecessary at first but it makes you a better person at the end....yeah i have no idea..

No one implied that you had said that, code, he merely commented on the fact stated a few posts ago... :

I've been in this guild since 2005. I can definitely say that there have been more active times - back when I was say, 13 and wasn't in highschool yet, and everyone else in the guild still had time on their hands. I've mentioned before that it isn't the guild itself that is fun, it's the people here. I'm on msn with over half the masters, as well as Facebook. Some of us are even WoW buddies. I know I for one have it in my mind to travel around and visit some of you guys, and finally meet you face to face after so many years of... knowing each other. I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that, so heads up and pay attention.

I guess... I dunno. This guild is the only real reason I'm even on Gaia. It brought me back after an entire year because Nibi dragged me on. I've started RPs before. It took me over year (maybe two?) to become a master myself. I've grown up here, strangely enough. I have a sentimental attachment to this place, and these people.
-shrugs-
If the guild became one of those large, nameless guilds, I don't know what I'd do. It's like turning your home into a club. You just don't do it. There's too much personality and value to it to just open it to the public who would destroy it, even if they didn't realize they were doing it.
I know I'm not overly active, but it's not like there's anything interesting going on right now. I have no creativity to start and roleplay, and when I join one, I'm not sure how to get overly involved these days. My job, my choirs, Stage craft, school, homework, social life... It consumes most of my time, and when I DO get online, I'm usually doing homework in one window, and msn in the other to talk to a couple people.

Also, the master testing system is a good creation. More events would also be good, but that relies on people being able to truly commit to them. I can't commit. Not when I have so much on my plate right now. I know this to be true for a number of other people, too.
I would hate to see this place die, because there's too many memories. Each thread has it's ups and downs, good memories and bad. There's a recycled and retired subforum for a reason. Just put the threads there - don't delete them. I find myself on occasion digging around for threads that stopped being in use years ago.

mm. I agree with windstar.
I've been here for 3/4 of a year, and i love the people in here and the freedom the guild gives for characters and plots. I actually am involved in another guild called Interdit Revanche. As i'm the owner there, I can also advertise in there. Or, at least, suggest to you some of the more active people.

Let me summarize everything that we've said so far.

1. This guild was never active.

2. It has developed into a house where we all know eachother and are for themost part mutually fond of eachother. Except me who has no friends... crying

3. We all are growing up as required in the human life and therefore are priorities are getting in the way.

4. We have come to an agreement based on posts I've been reading over on serious topics and the way your responding, most of you, that this guild should continue on.

5. Although you think that the guild should not die you have not come up with a solution on how to get a little more people into this cooky family of ours.

I guess thats what i got.

In response to that i've been around since the beginning, part of the dying already Psychic element. I eneded up quilting the guild because it died and i was no longer interesting. I eventually came back to take care of the plant element now forest. So i think that is what is happening.

But what i say to you all is well if we get people or not we still here we still keep it runnin till we all say we won't take it anymore. I learned that from ya'll.

MIGHT I ADD...

There is a shiny discussion subbie.
Also, MC, while we did not come up with a solution, neither did you. I laughed; find it kinda' hypocritical XP
If I remember correctly, we've had this debate time and time again, and guess what? We haven't died yet.
I think we're doing just fine.
As long as people are having fun and coming back, what does it matter?
