All who are cunning and sly are welcome in amongst these shelves. Try not to tear up the journals thrown about the ground too much.

Drake Clan
Name: After the name of the first dragon that was discovered.
Philosophy: Dragons should be used as tools to ensure power and establish the clan as rulers over both races, so that murder and bloodshed like the Dragon-Human Wars would never happen again.
Purpose: To gain power and stop any Spirit Clan activity
History: Early attempts to gain power by the Drake Clan were forceful and oftentimes thwarted by the authorities as well as the Gallor Clan. Over time, the Drake Clan realized that to gain power, they needed to work with the system that was already in function. To do this they had to gain an office, to gain an office they needed to gain popularity to be voted into office. The way one was to gain popularity with the people was by winning races and contests and becoming a celebrity. So even though it would take more time, the Drake Clan drew back into more subtle ways to gain power.

Journals for the dragons of the Drake Clan will be stored here.

The Drake clan is very stratified in that there is almost no way to change your lot in life except to go to Gallor. The nobles do almost nothing but sit around and decide what to do with the peasant's tax money, usually in the form of what they will be eating that night. The commoners almost always die early, or in the fields, and very few can adapt to life in Gallor due to the vast cultural differences, primarily their attitudes towards dragons. In the Drake Clan, it is not uncommon to have one, or even two dragon companions at one time. Some lucky individuals have three, but this is very uncommon. Each dragon is explicitly tied to one person in Drake society, and if that human dies then the dragon's bond is passed on to their next of kin; so it is not uncommon to have a human who has literally been with a dragon his whole life. This bond causes some discomfort on both sides, though. Dragons, naturally possessed as they are with a desire for wealth, will often place a strain on the finances of a family of humans. In peasant families, this is especially present; dragons in this class of society often are possessed with a drive to get as much gold as possible, which sometimes leads to a life of theft, often ending in a jail sentence for both the dragon and their human companion.

The land in the Drake Clan is very arid and dry, but it has areas of moisture and even a rainforest in the southern section. Due to the climate, though, some very rare and exotic fruits can be grown, but at a lesser extent than that of the Gallor Clan. Citrus, Pineapple, Watermelons, Ginger, and many other spices can be found in relative abundance in Drake territory. What little excess is left is then traded for the majority of the excess from Gallor's crops. Many traders are present in Drake Clan, especially in Port Draconia. Merchants are very much the middle class of Drake society, and as such life fairly comfortable lives. Dragons and humans work together very much in their ventures for profit, and most older dragons will help whatever younger creatures that need it- be they human or dragon.
