xThe sun was only beginning to wake, slowly presenting its graceful glow and streaming it across the land of Oblivion. The tan puppy smiled towards her mother who was still asleep on the ground next to her, softly inhaling and exhaling to the tune of a slow tempo. “Bye, mom…” The femme whispered indistinctly, looking out at the bright orb which was still tucked halfway under the horizon once more and guessing if she would have enough time to escape meticulously. Curiosity called her name, and she tumbled out of the cave. “Freedom!” she mouthed with a huge grin, being careful not to wake any of the beings within the cave. Glancing back with little to no guilt crossing her mind, she quickly galloped towards a small cliff where she would have a clear glimpse of the sun while it was rising.
The further she got from her home, the better she felt. It was almost overwhelming, the feeling of escaping. Adrenaline pumped through her veins at the thought of what kind of consequences her mother would bestow her, but this was not enough to make her halt.
When she finally reached the grassy cliff, she smiled once more, her tail picking up speed and flying inelegantly every which way. Her brother always referred to it as her secret weapon because the little tan female never realized that she was hitting hounds with it.
As Ainslee looked out towards the bright yellow sun, she couldn’t help but feel even more curious than before. What exactly was this thing? Why did it go away at night? There were so many questions to be asked about it. The sky filled up with tones of pink and orange as the sun rose further and further. Patiently, the pup sat and watched, waiting for the pieces of her puzzle. A tune began to trickle from her mouth as she hummed delicately.
