This game came as quite a surprise to me.
Because at first sight, I thought "bah, another stupid zombi game."
But I started playing it after buying it, and OH CRAP. These are zombies you can be afraid of. Zombies that don't need to have a machinegun attached to their arm to beat you down to a bloody mess (and then utilize said bloody mess to beat down the nearest human.)
Zombies that run at you, jump at you from the shadows, zombies that wrap you with their tongues and drag you a block away from your group, zombies that explode in a gooey blob which attracts other zombies... Zombie chicks that can take two sniper shots to the head, one molotov cocktail and a few rounds of a shotgun, and still slash your chest open... And the Tank. The guy you need a rocket launcher to down, and guess what? There's no rocket launchers in this game.
In short: This game is what Resident Evil wants to be when it grows up. And it's got multi-player mode, to add to the fun (something me and my girlfriend have been enjoying for a while now.)
The only flaw of the game is that it's only have four campaigns. Hopefully the players will start making maps for it.
Oh, and the best feature of the game: Absolute randomness. No more "oh, I remember last time I played, a zombi jumped at me from this window" idiocy. Nope. In Left 4 Dead, you don't know where the big bad zombies are going to be hiding, or when a horde of fifty or eighty 'weak' zombies are going to rush at you from all sides (specially 'enjoyable' if you're out in the open.)
I give this game an 8/10. No rocket launcher and few maps to have fun in in vanilla version, but I bet mods will put it closer to 10/10.

L4D2? I really want to try that game. It seems fun. But screw playing alone, I'm too chicken. When I get a new computer, I'll download L4D2 >=] I heard you could like use pretty much everything to kill the zombiess... like a.. i forgot i think it was a baseball bat or something lol

L4D2 beats the original. In every sense.
But I prefer to play alone. The AI players may be idiots who leave you to die alone, but even then they're far more skilled than the average online FPS player (aka I IS CLAN W00T!)
As for what you can use? Melee weapons: Baseball bat, the old good tire iron, a frying pan, a police baton, and a katana. Firearms: Magnum .44, semi-auto snipers, two or three variations of each weapon from L4D, and a grenade launcher.
The new infected are kinda cute, if a bit useless IMO. A guy who rides on your head (skillfully named "Jockey") a girl who spits acid around you (and dies in a rain of acid) and a half-tank who can charge at lightning speed and slam you against the ground until you die very dead.
And the Witches are now often walking around instead of staying still... So you'll often end up shooting them thinking they're just a normal zombie.
What's definitely better? The five campaigns of L4D2 tell a single tale, unlike L4D's unconnected campaigns. A plus IMO.
Oh, I almost forgot the final stage: Ten minutes of running like crazy trying to get through a half-wrecked bridge filled to the brim with zombies. Halfways through it, a Tank comes to play, and just when you're about to get through, another one joins the fun.

lmao a frying pan? interesting xD It's cool because it's a bit realistic. If I was on their position I'd use whatever the hell I could find to kill 'em >->;;
And yeah I've heard of that guy that rides on your head.. My friend told me that a person on your team has to shoot em to be able to get rid of it.
I like playing with people who has fun and doesn't take everything seriously.. but also not goof off at the same time =s Would be awesome with a mic which i recently got =O
