I work in a place with a dress code of black and white. I hate it, but at the same time to do agree it makes everyone look alot better, and we can wear colored accessories. But what do you think of dress codes? i understand buissiness wear and what not and having to look professional, but i kinda of feel like todays generation is trying to change that, weather it be on purpose or not, but i feel like dress codes are becoming less rigid to accomidate for a younger chicer working force.
what are your feelings on this do you guys feel they way i do with the younger generation influencing corporate wear?

That does seem a little rigid, but dress codes on a whole I don't really mind. Of course my sister recently switched schools and used to be able to wear whatever she wanted, now she has to wear khakis and a dress shirt (and a tie!) She actually had to get on the net to learn how to tie a tie since it was in the school rules that everyone must have one. But I've seen some serious rule breakers in the name of accessorizing. We're talking pink vests, red sneakers, ribbons in place of ties and so on.

i like dress codes when you can accessorize them like that, becasuse then you really have to try to be creative and have your own flair, as opposed to just going to hot topic and geting a tee shirt

I dunno, I hate Hollister's dress code.
Must wear Blue jeans, with a gray, navy, or white top. With no acessories. Hair must look natural. Little to no make up. Shoes must be flip flops or vans. Fingernail polish, if worn, must be clear. Toenail polish may be worn in classic colors of red, coral, or pink. No fake fingernails/toenails.
But a job is a job is a job....

Agreed, I know we all need a job but damn. My sister works at a rather uppity drug store but they don't care that she wears the black nail polish or dyes her hair black. They don't even gripe about the way her hair is a mess sometimes or her khakis have holes in them from her bf's truck.

My dress code is pretty loose but I still hate it. A black shirt and khakis. I just don't look good in Khakis and we're not allowed to wear head scarves. I feel my head scarves give my looks a cut edge. 3nodding

The customers like her for the most part and she will come in weather its raining, snowing, hot or cold. However, she's looking for something else, something different because they're abusing her services.

Yeah Hollister is pretty crazy. They point is, they know how they want me to look and that's how I will look if I want money lol.
I just got my EMT license so change may be in way.

I know, and she's still in school on top of that...it's her last year if all goes well.
Congrats on the license Angelina, I need to get me a license in something since I let mine fall by the way side.
