((I couldn't come up with a good title .. but will later xD!)) (Imgage links to the large version)  Silence greeted the lone male as he stood amongst the shadows of trees. Soulless glowing eyes stared unfocused into the distance as a soft breeze rustled through his long hair. The raven's feather attached to the thick braid laying on his neck tickled his shoulder., yet he didn't move and only stood there every muscle drawn tight beneath his black coat. A bleached skull of some long dead foe .. or could it have been a past friend? ... he wasn't sure anymore, crowned his head, one eye socket completely broken away. Ribs from the same long forgotten hound were stitched onto his sides above his own ribs a grim testament to his well hidden insanity. Yet, nothing could have been more heinous than the fact that the skull of a small cub framed with more raven's feathers rested on the ground behind him, attached to the chains of a heavy set of leg irons. The fact that it was there was meant once to be torture, but he couldn't even remember the act that had earned him the skull. The tip of the male's muzzle wrinkled but his lips remained firmly stitched in place. Ah, he did remember the act that had earned him his now mute state, speaking out against his teacher .. r had it been his lover... or both? No matter, it was the past, his tormentor was long dead by his own claws and horns, leaving him to roam the world a battered, tortured, and corrupted soul. Narrowing his eyes he moved from the shadows, the chains of his irons jingling their haunting tune with every movement.

Were her own eyes soulless? Perhaps to others, after all, they were cold and pale – without irises or pupils - just cold blank eyes. And yet they could see the world as clearly as any other pair. In fact, Skadi might’ve been so bold to say they could see more than the common set. She had been blessed, she saw the world differently, she saw it for what it truly was. A fruit, ripe for the taking. She moved calmly through the thin clouds of mist and fog, her dark pelt almost blending in with the night – save the few speckles of blue. Her steps were quite, her eyes piercing. She was the hunter, not for food but for a new toy, a new soul to amuse her.
She stood still for a moment, the silence curling around her as she listened. And then Skadi heard something. Eyes flicked slightly with mild interest as she heard a jingle. Her eyes narrowed, almost confused, a jingle was something out of character for the area – as far as Skadi was concerned. It was something new – to her – something mildly intriguing. And so, with nothing better to take part in, she followed the sound.
A silhouette, dark and chiming out the soft, unusual melody greeted her in the distance. A grim smile played on Skadi’s face for a moment, the prey found.
“Dear ghost, where are you heading?” As always she spoke oddly, words resembling a cryptic code and yet oddly lyrical.

He had been enjoying the worldly silence around him when a voice called out through the mist.
Ears twitching in the female's direction he turned his head slowly and stared into the mist and fog. The mute male just stared or a long moment, his glowing eyes the only part of him that really pierced clearly through the haze. He cocked his had slightly, what kind of creature called out to one they didn't know? Well, whomever she was, she was either brave or stupid. Narrowing his eyes slightly he took firs tone step then another towards the voice.
Finally VooDoo moved forward with a flick of his flame marked tail. Emerging the haze like the beast he was he approached Skadi almost seeming to slither on his four legs.
He moved as if he were going to pass her then suddenly turned and began to prowl around her form taking in every sight there was to see of her. The male didn't answer her call, but his stitched lips and the deep scar circling his neck told her why.

Oh, trust her on this one, Skadi was far from stupid, arrogant perhaps, but not stupid. For moment she stared at his eyes, they way they glowed in the dark, piercing through the fog and shadows and she wondered, briefly, if he could see things the plain hound couldn’t. But such thoughts were brushed aside as quick as they had come; there was no room for such foolish emotions. And if she were brave or stupid, one could say the same for him, following unknown voices, approaching strangers. Who was to say she was a safe sort of hound to be around?
She watched his approached, her body not yet defensive, rather she seemed almost welcoming to the company. A façade? Perhaps, but at this point only Skadi truly knew the answer to that.
She watched him as he paced circles around her, something not uncommon. And so she took the opputunity to study him as he did the same to her. He had so much on him, chains and skulls, she wondered how heavy that was, how much of a burden it was for that hound. And, while his forelegs were coated in armour – dangerously spiked – his hind legs were bound together… something that was definitely a weakness as it restrained his motions, wouldn’t it?
Most intriguing though, when it came to this hound was his mute quality and the stitches that bound him to the silence. Skadi almost frowned, when one couldn’t talk they were harder to manipulate, harder to toy with.
”Not one of many words, I see, that’s fine, I’ve been told I have the voice for the two of us,” she commented airly, though there was a subtle darkness behind her words. She too, moved now circling as well so they were both outlining the geometric shape.
”Though, such a shame, I’m oh so fond of stories.”
