wikipedia Polyamory (from Greek πολυ [poly, meaning many or several] and Latin amor [literally “love”]) is the desire, practice, or acceptance of having more than one loving, intimate relationship at a time with the full knowledge and consent of everyone involved. Is anyone here polyamorous or curious about it? I'm very much a newcomer to it, but I'd be happy to answer questions if this is totally new to anyone here. Whenever something catches my interest I'll usually scour the internet for information so I know stuff, I simply cannot speak from experience on this matter. Opinions, questions, advice? I think this could be very interesting and informative to discuss.

I support polyamory, but I'm not too sure if I would be happy in a polyamorous relationship. But if it works to you, and everyone involved is okay with it, then I say go for it!
My heart is yours...

I'd like to try it someday but I don't know.
I'm not against it, it's not my business although it is kind of strange to see. o_O

No experience with this on my end either, though I'd be willing to try. There's a (half-dead) Livejournal community that focuses on polyamory if anyone's interested: http://community.livejournal.com/queerly_openWouldn't it be exhausting to focus on so many partners? How is it possible to be sincerely in love with more than one person?

I'm in a polyamorous relationship with my fiance. Unfortunately she's halfway across the country right now, which makes things stressful.

I'm poly. <3 I love every minute of it. Moments of jealousy here and there, but eventually ya get over it and used to it. I'm in a relationship and I love my gal. x3 I've always believed that being able to love more than one person is completely natural. That's where having multiple crushes comes into play, etc, etc. P=<

I think it's definitely for some people, and definitely not for some others. I doubt I could handle it at all, so there's no way I'm touching that--I'm not a very jealous person, but not having someone be simply mine would probably flip me out.
As long as everyone involved is consenting and aware, though, I think it can be a great thing.

Polyamory is fine, but awkward at times I would think. There would be alot of jealousy at times and balancing the relationship.

No offense, I just don't believe in it. Because, even if you're truely polyamorous, there are people out there that will say they are as well and abuse the beliefs.

Some people can do it, some don't. I could not that's for sure. Jealous or not jealous, I can't think of somebody else touching my gf or she touching somebody else. Also, I would like really pissed off if she would allow other to touch me... scream sweatdrop
For jealous people like me polyamory is a "no-no". If you say YOU REALLY LOVE SOMEBODY and claim you're polyamorous... I don't think you really love that somebody that much. Or maybe I don't understand the concept well...

Polyamorous... Hmm, I think I may be one, since even though I've fallen for someone, my eyes tend to stray away and look at other people; sometimes, I even get attracted to them, but it only lasts for a short while fortunately. But since I haven't been in a relationship yet, I don't know if I could be deathly loyal. sweatdrop Maybe I am polyamorous...
Question for the more knowledgeable: Is the above statement considered polyamorous?
And thoughts on the subject:
Nah, I don't think I really believe in this polyamory. I don't think people can really fall in love with more than two persons. It'd be difficult and stressful, for most people anyway.
But meh, if there are a small percentage like that, and I happen to know one of them, then I'll just accept it, even though it'd feel awkward being around three or more people who are all lovey dovey with each other. I mean, even though there might be four of you, you'd still feel like the odd wheel out, even though you "supposedly" have a partner with you.

This is a new and strange concept to me. I like to support many times of love, but this is kind of creepy. Though, if everyone doesn't mind, then I suppose it's alright. I had multiple crushes when I was younger, but that's understandable as I was just learning about love. xD

I'm a serial monogomist. That is not to say that I have any negative opinions about polyamory.
If a group of people can find a balance and a loving connection with more than one person, and have it work with all members, more power to them!
I, on the other hand, could most likely never pull it off. I have a stroke of jealousy about me. So, I feel that would strain things. I have been in intimate situations with more than one person, and at times either myself or another person was somewhat excluded sweatdrop ... And to be honest, I felt bad when that happened; for all of us. It's tough to find that perfect balance; in all aspects of a relationship.

ill tear down the stars and ill give them to you they're not as pretty as your eyes but i guess it'll have to do
i am pretty open to everything
but i think in this case, it would have to depend. to love two or more people equally is a hard concept for me to grasp. its sounds like a lot to handle because when im devoted to somebody, i will seriously have all my attention to that person. it would be hard to switch my attention so someone else...
but if i were to find two or more partners who are all somehow okay with the idea, then so be it xD
then again, i find that this is an almost impossible scenario... ^.^;; ill tear down the stars we can ride it to the moon ill float till i find you i would'nt ever let you fall, down...
