Reine stretched as she woke from her light slumber, blinking her silver eyes wearily. She could see the faint silhouette of an outcropping nearby and perhaps the dark outline of a tree, but that was all she saw in the fog. It seemed to be especially thick that day and she frowned, although she had long since accepted that there was really nothing she could do about it. Nothing, except move to a different area.
Shaking herself, she stood, flicking her outgrown head-fur to one side, deciding to head towards the outcropping first, as she had learned that the higher she was, the thinner the air would be. She was still unsure whether that affected the fog but it never hurt to find out and besides, she might be able to see somethig of interest from up there.
The thought alone made her quicken her pace to a steady lope and her former fatigue was gone. Along the way, she slid her tounge across her parched lips, wondering if there was a stream close by. She had made a kill recently, less than a day ago, but blood couldn't replace water. Not for long, anyways.
