Okay, my sister and I (and her bf) are planning a trip to LA next summer. I've never been to LA before...none of us have (he's from Florida, and I lived in Colorado for half of my life) so does anyone know how hot it gets there temperature-wize? I'd seriously hate to melt (and it will help me know what to pack). Here it gets around 80-90 in the summer, and last year it was so hot that the sun left open sores on my neck so I had to start carrying a parasol sweatdrop

i would say it would probably stay pretty warm, especially if its in the summer time.
also be prepared for it to be completly different than what your used to, i hear los angles and long island are not like the rest of america

Lol! Well I hope not! We're counting on it to completely different, but then I haven't been anywhere since forever except Atlanta, which is similar and different at the same time.
I'd just like not to have to have to make funeral arrangements for myself because I hyperventilated on the street from the heat.

Well I'm from Cali, and I've been to LA.
Now I live in the American southwestern Desert, so it gets hotter where I live than it does in LA, but when I go in summer it gets a little warm.
DRESS VERY COOL, if your not used to it esspecially.
It's not as humid as like Atlanta would be, unless your within a couple blocks of the ocean in which case the marine layer keeps it a bit cooler anyway.
If there's any advise I would give however, is don't wear a lot of invaluable jewelry and keep money in separate pockets, I myself haven't been mugged, but this is a HIGH crime rate city, and I know several people including my bf who had problems. If your in California, you should definitely go to San Diego-it's SO much nicer from a Cali-local's perspective, why did she want to go to LA, may I ask?

Well we thought it would be a nice vacation, not to mention she really has been dying to go to Anime Expo, and if they move it back to Anaheim that's okay too.
As for Altanta, we live 2 hours away from it so we have the same weather for the most part so heat's not really too much of an issue...normal heat anyway, and of course there isn't an ocean to be seen in Tennessee, just a rank old river.
