I only read the first 6 volumes. I dunno, this is one of the only few instances where I like the anime better...

yeah the only bad thing about the anime is that it is jumpy and hard to understand sometimes

I find the manga is better because I prefer the story to the one in the anime.

The manga is pretty good. I gave up in the middle of the anime, but came back to watch the end. Didn't feel like I missed anything. XD
They started a new FMA anime which is supposed to follow the manga better (Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood).

Blade678 The new FMA seems to be moving though the old story quite fast. I noticed that too. I get a little bored though seeing similar scenes from the previous anime. Although I still loved how Hawkeye tripped up Mustang. I guess it's pretty easy to identify one of my fav characters. XD
