I'm just wondering. Why have they started shooting NM in Vancouver?
Is it for a particular scene?

I love how we've started to infiltrate.

First the casting of Bronson Pelletier, and now the shooting in Vancouver. Next thing you know it's going to be a Canadian film! (but then it would probably suck . . . We watched a crap load of Canadian Christmas movies on W and they were all really bad movies (except one, Me and Luke, it was good))

there's actually been a lot of good canadian films, they just usually are not high budget films or super famous cause no one pays attentions to them.

There's a good french movie called C.R.A.Z.Y which was made in Quebec, and there's another movie called Boy Culture (it's a gay cinema movie...) which was pretty good. Ginger Snaps is also a good horror film which is canadian. =3 Again... most of them are low budget and not given enough credit lol.

ANyways... I'm just glad Canada is making it into movies at all, makes me a happy Canadian gal. lawlz.

They're filming in Vancouver because it's cheap.
I think that's the only reason.

Canada rocks and rules!

you can't believe it they shot the movie at DT (David Thompson)! I go the Tecumseh (elementry) and it's just a short minute walk from Tecumseh to DT!!! Some people went to see and they saw....idk one of the twilight guys...can't remember who though...but other wise it's so kool! Proud to be a Canadian!

They are filming it in Canada because the state of Washington is to cheap to give the film makers any breaks like Canada is giving them. I know because I live in Washington about 3 hours away from Forks. I have Actually been to Forks and I plan on going back in September for their celebration of Bella's Birthday.

It's true that most Canadian films are low-budget and don't get as much credit as they probably should, but some noteworthy and occasionally dubious talent is Canadian. William Shatner (Captain Kirk from the original Star Trek TV show), is Canadian, as are many other actors.

Oh, and Canada's wilderness been used for the back-drop of many a Western movie, and numerous others. Resident Evil Apopcalypse filmed in Toronto or Vancouver, and Brokeback Mountain was partly filmed in my home province of Alberta. I love my country.

Whoo! Alberta pride!

I know they're are lots of good Canadian Actors/Actresses, but you have to admit, the majority of Canadian made and produced films are not that good. But they like to film movies in Canada because there are less laws and because it's cheaper than to film in the U.S.. The movie The Ron Clarke Story (which starred Mathew Perry) was actually filmed at the school I currently attend. It's actually kind of funny because the movie is set in ghetto New York, but my school is not in the ghetto. If you ever watch it, you'll notice that they never film outside the gates, it's because there's a huge field there and the neighborhood is actually quite nice. I'm pretty sure they filmed it at my school because it was built sometime in the 1890's.

Just a fun piece of information for you, my friend auditioned for the part of Young Heath Ledger when they were filming here. And the movie Touch the Top of the World was filmed on Delirium Dive, a ski run at Sunshine (a hill near Canmore). My friend actually got a part in that movie (he wasn't that good).

Yeah I think it's mostly for scenery since it's very similar to Washington's scenery.

I will agree, but some of them are good too. I love my province, even if it's full of a few idiots. And that's awesome! My school hasn't been used in any films or anything, but I've been to a few areas where they filmed Brokeback, and the areas in the mountains are just absolutely gorgeous. I'm not much of a skier, so I don't go out to the mountains all that often, and I usually go in the summer for hikes with the family.

And Vancouver/BC has some of the most GORGEOUS scenery, habiku, and it's just north of Washington, so it's not too far geographically speaking.

I adore living here. I'm less than an hour to the mountains, and it only takes about 1 1/2 hours to get to Canmore,, and not much longer to get to Banff or Lake Louise. Although, I do hope to move to Victoria or Vancouver for university.

I've been to Seattle a few times, we've always flown into Abbotsford, B.C. and then driven, and it's only taken about 2 hours. To drive from Seattle to Vancouver would only take slightly longer, and the scenery is pretty identical. It would be very easy, unnoticeable, and make very much fiscal sense to change locations.
