Candy padded quietly through the thin trees of Oblivion, occasionally glancing nervously about for her companion, Diamonte. They had decided to travel together after their first meeting, towards Diamonte's friend. The name escaped her at the moment, but she knew it was something like "Sara-phim." At least, she thought it was. She was something of an angel, if she remembered right. Or was it a wolf in sheep's clothing?
"Diamote?" she called quietly when she had gone a little too far ahead, afraid that she would lose another of her friends to the never ending fog. Worried, she stalled her steady lope to a slow walk and turned back, scanning the lands. Although she could catch faint traces of her scent in the trees she had brushed by, she couldn't find Diamonte and she figured she had gone too far ahead. "Diamonte?" she called again, raising her ears.

Khar had found it. The scent of his best friend from so many years ago, and he'd been trailing after it for some time. How long had it been since he'd last seen her? Ever since the day she'd left ot go talk to those other hounds and he was attacked, he'd been searching for her again, desperate to find his dearest friend. He sniffed about in the fog, pausing only momentarily to free his paw from a loose bandage about his middle that had been tangling him up every two hours or so.
He sniffed, and sniffed, and sniffed a little more, before he rose up over a little tree spattered hill, only to find himself looking down at her. Candy. Oh, she hadn't changed since they were pups, and yet she'd changed entirely. She was beautiful, and elegant, and... And....
"Diamonte?.... Diamonte?"
And she had replaced him....? Khar suddenly felt as though his heart had bursted, but not out of joy, out of rejection and pain. The bloodied hound frze in his place, and he swallowed down tears. Had she forgotten about him? Had she hated him for not being there when she'd come back to the cave? It hadn't been his fault! He'd done nothing wrong! A sudden anger washed over him, and filled the foggy air, as he slid down the hill towards Candy, so upset he was trembling.
"All this time.... All this.... Bloody time...." hadnt he fought hard to become the strong young male he was for her? Hadn't he suffered long enough? No, he had another challenge, apparently. He wasn't going to lose her again. He wasn't... Not after so long... "Candy!" he called to her as he approached, trying to calm his trembling rage.
How could she have forgotten him...?

Candy pivoted her ears, waiting for Diamonte to call back. When he didn't, she pawed at the earth and prepared herself to howl when she heard a distant voice. It didn't sound like Diamonte's but it was undoubtedly a male's, and she figured the fog was just ruining the voice of her silver friend.
"I'm over here." she called, assuming Diamonte had called back, for the fog had covered most of Khar's words. She raised her head as she padded towards the voice. "Diamonte, you scared me for a moment." she said. She tried to stiffle a giggle as she saw a sillhouette in the fog, and she called out, "Your voice, it's--"
She never finished, for her breath had caught in her throat in a gasp. It seemed the voice she had heard was not Diamonte at all, but in fact, another male. The brown hound stood before her and she raised her lips threateningly. Who wouldn't, what with the male's tattered and blood-splattered fur. Her nose twitched with a hint of recognition as she took in the male's scent and watched his clear blue eyes but it was immedietly drowned out when the scent of Shadowmere reached her nostrils and her eyes left his own to look at the strange pieces of cloth hanging from him.
"How do you know my name?" she asked, backing away into the fog for some cover. It had been a while since she had fought and she was nervous. She felt ready, though, and her paws tingled with adrenaline, although doubt kept her back. He looked so familiar, but she didn't want to believe. Couldn't. She had long ago learned that none ever came back from the dead, and she wasn't sure she could handle losing him another time.
The thought of Khar, her old friend and the only one she had truly cared for, sent a sudden yelp to her lips and her eyes widened with uncertainty. Her fighting spirit seemed to dissipate and she backed away again, shivering behind a tree. She thought she had managed to reign in her feelings for Khar, but the sight of the male, so similar to the image of Khar in her mind, had brought memories flooding back to her and tears streamed down her face. She didn't want to be here, to be so close, and she would have fled if she had not remembered Diamonte in time.

Diamonte took in the air trying to find his lost amiga. She had wandered faurther than he could see in this thick fog. "Thats senorita is just too damn hyper" He said to himself and took off in a faster pace.
"Now where did you run off to Dulces?" He asked and then he heard his names being called and sighed in relief. He ran off to her direction, jumping over a log to see a brown male in bandages cornering Candy.
"Candy!" He barked almost alarmed, and ran over to her, putting himself inbetween her and the male. Candy was crying and he got a little mad. "Are you alright Dulces? Did he Hurt you?" He asked keeping an eye of the mummifiyed male.
The sliver male turned to the male and barred his teeth. "I'm sorry Senor, but this female is not to be messed with, please turn and leave her be."

Khar quivered angrilly as he stared at Candy. She didn't recognise him. He wanted to tear something apart, but the minute he heard that yelp, his rage fizzled out. He felt is heart clench up as the tears began spilling. Now he felt terrible. Candy had't forgotten him, then? Did she remember him? "Oh, Candy, don't cry. Please don't cry..." he started taking a couple steps towards her, tail curled inbetween his back legs. How could he have...?
A blur of grey halted the hound from moving towards his dear friend, and his rage began bubbling again. This was his replacement? This... This... Pretty boy?! A surge of insecurity burned his skin. Maybe he was too ugly for her? His paws tapped back and forth on the ground, before he regained his rage, and he snarled, baring long, bloodied fangs. The fangs of a real hunter. Not those pansy assed girly white fangs. His fur stood on end as his blue eyes slitted hard.
"This is my replacement, Candy? Some pretty boy? Do you know how long I've looked for you, how much I've been through..? And yet, you replaced me so easily with... With..." he quivered, unable to control his rage at this point. The tears leaked over his fur as his emotions roke loose. He couldn't stop himself. He lost all of his usual control and leapt, going for Diamonte's throat, or atleast anything in his reach. He had been alone for so long...

"N-no...." Candy managed to say, although her voice was quiet and she doubt any heard but herself, for she was busy trying to silence her sobs. She was glad Diamote asked the male to leave, although sad, too. No, she shook her head. Don't feel sorry for him. It's not Khar.
With those words in mind, she peeked out from behind the tree, ears flattened as she watched the other. She hoped he would leave without trouble but that wish was soon crushed with his words. He sounded so angry, and so sad, too, and the way he spoke... as if he knew her.
"Kh--?" she tried to say, but it was too late. He had gone after Diamonte.

Diamonte lunged at the hound also, but he was too quick and made a grab for his throat. The sliver male was caught just by the skin. It was plain to see that this honud was a much more expierenced fighter than he was. But he wouldn't just roll over. He would protect his little sister like he would anyone else he cared for.
The sliver male twisted and tried to pin the other male down and get the upper paw in the fight. He heard Candy saw something but couldn't make it out. He jumped back for a second. "Corre! Mi Hermana Run!" He instructed.

Khar growled ferally as he tasted the other's fur in his mouth. Got him, but it obviously wasn't enough. He couldn't feel the others' throat, just the fur, and a trace of blood. Now, if only he could grab up some more than skin, and then---
In a mere second, he felt himself falling. Hard. His spine hit the ground, and a violent growl tore from his throat. That was a bad move on pretty boy's part. His mouth had released its grasp on the other, when he skittered back a little amount. Khar growled. Perfect. He was disrtacted and left wide open. Khar took this as his chance to cause real damage, and caught his back leg on the other's lower chest, tugging down violently to tear open the skin, possibly bruise some tissue, maybe scratch up a rib bone if he's lucky.

Diamonte knew that he would surely die if he didn't do something quick. This male was a miuch more advanced fighter than him, it was easy to tell by his blood stained fur and bandages. He decided it would be best for both him and Candy if he tried to give up.
Twiting violently he tried to get away from this hound's grasp. He choaked out a few words. "I do not want to fight, i surrender i only wanted to keep my friend safe" He told the other male so only they could hear. But he would not roll over and show this male as his superior. He may be at war, but in case of brains Diamonte was far superior. He tried to wrap his paws aronud the males head to pull him off, but the male's grasp was too strong. So he prayed that he would hear his surrender and let go of him.

Khar was too furious to care whether or not this hound wanted to surrender. This pretty boy had taken the only thing precious in his life away from him, and he was going to be leaving this fight with her. "If you didn't want to fight you never would have taken her from me...." he roared, snapping at the other's paws as he took his back feet and pushed upwards, knocking the other off of him, before he was on top of the other again, his own bloodied paws pinning the pretty boy, his teeth around his neck, prepared to snap the other's head off.... But...
He wouldn't kill, not in front of Candy. He raised his head, feeling superior over the pretty boy, and with a look that stated 'stay down or die', he turned, slowly walking towards Candy. "Candy? Candy, he won't be a bother anymore. Come on, let's go, alright? Candy?... We.... We can go home... Let's go home now...." oh, he was just so happy, he couldn't stop the sudden tears that sprang down his face as he neared her.

Candy's fur bristled with both anger and fear when she saw the two males fight. She snarled with uncertainty, and raised her tail, trying to boost her own confidence. She heard Diamonte tell her to run but they might as well have been the fog as she was too distracted to hear. It was only when she saw the brown male about to kill Diamonte that she leaped forward.
"Diamonte!" she yelled, realizing it was pointless to try and distract the other male as he had already stopped to face her. She longed to help her friend but was too fearful of the bloodied male to get any closer and was frozen to the spot, his words brushing past her ear like air.
"Khar?" she asked, tail lowering. She couldn't face the disappointment. Not again. "Please, leave him be." she whispered, ears lowering. She found she couldn't speak his name in a complete sentence, as if recognizing the male as her childhood friend could only result in pain.

Diamonte snapped back into focuse and looked over at Candy. 'Khar?' He thought. This was the male they were looking for? The one that Candy had loved. He now would surely not fight him, this fight was all a misunderstanding. He thought that Candy was his mate. She as nothing more than a sister to him.
Struggling to get free but not wanting to hurt the other male, he bent his knees and bucked forward spilling the male over his shoulder, making him rip away from his neck. "Stop!" He barked at the male, holding his tail up and holding his head high, dispite the blood that was staining his sliver fur.
He glared at the male, "You only realize you are scarying her right? Look at her, she shaking." He said barking at the brown male. "Will you cease fighting for her?"
