I couldn't get another mat like we had, and i can't play with a flat mat, so i put packaging tape on my mat to keep my foot out of the holes and my foot got stuck to the back arrow. I even tore out some of the sensor, about a cell phone sized chunk.

I even tore out some of the sensor, about a cell phone sized chunk. I think anyone who's ever used a soft ddr pad has ran into problems that they tried to solve with tape. As Shiro said your best off getting a quality steel pad. I've gone through enough soft pads to have a really good pad.

Problem is Steel-type pads cost a pretty penny. But they are worth it. IF possible try to get one with a bar, so you can do some of the harder songs, if need be.

no.... something desperate would be breaking into your nearest arcade with a sawz-all and wirecutters to steal theirs!! lol no but ive had to do tht before... i obliterated the underside of my softpad in the center.... duct tape works well but if you plan on keeping it i recommend plexiglass/pad/plywood/screw combo to fix it, im savin up for tht still
Edit: this is a good low income method although i say im saving for it lol plywood sheet 4x4 usually cost around $8-10 plexi or plastic around $10-15 maybe 20 and a box of screws reaaal cheap.
