The Academy Is... = heart
...Who agrees?
xd Anyway...the usual questions...how'd you get into them? Ever seen them in concert? Favorite song? Etc.
For me - My brother's friend burned him their CD, and I stole it...and fell in love. I saw them once, but I only knew "Black Mamba" at the time, and they DIDN'T play it... cry I want to see them again now that I know all the songs. My favorite song BY FAR is "Down And Out" heart That's practically tied for my favorite song of all time with "Grand Theft Autumn (Where Is Your Boy?)" by the fellow FBR band Fall Out Boy, who I'm sure we're all quite familiar with. xd 3nodding

The Academy Is=lots and lots of love. Heard of them through Purevolume, which I go on religously. Only heard Seasons and Checkmarks, though.

I agree! I very much so agree whee .
I got into them from people mentioning them loads on the FOB thread. So I basically went to purevolume, tried some songs, fell in love and **downloaded** ninja their album straight off. I now listen to it religiously, in equal amounts to FOB and P!ATD.
Would do anything to see them in concert, but no luck stare , I doubt they would come anywhere near where I live in the foreseeable future anyway.
My favourite song would have to be either 'Attention', 'Skeptics And True Believers', 'Seasons' or.....'Slow Down'. Although I have yet to learn all the words by heart, I know most of the songs.

I owe my entire musical being to Purevolume. XD
Another great band brought to me by them. <3 I simply adore The Academy Is... The music is so soft and beautiful, yet very upbeat at the same time. Wonderful.
I share the same favorite song with you. :3 I love how it starts off so soft and delicate and then it moves into the more lyrical standpoint of the song. It's great. <3 I constantly find myself singing the words in class.
I'd kill the See Mr. Beckett and the boys. Infact they happen to be coming here on the ninth. Alas no ride = no concert.

Oh, I most definetly agree. TAI... is most definetly my favourite FBR band. :]
I got into them from the Warped Tour 2005 CD my friend burned me and instantly fell in love with William's voice. And I feel like such a lucky little boy because I'm going to see TAI... on the 15th! 8D And I am extremely excited. As for favourite song.. it's probably still Checkmarks, which is the song that got me into them. So yup. <3

Are we all going to see them on this tour? 'Cause I might be able to go see them too. 26th. Much loves. <3 I...well, I heard about them from you guys, and I thought I'd check them out. I listened to all the itunes samples 'cause I'm cheap like that. >.< All the songs are amazing. I want that CD now. (:
Since I've only heard 30 seconds of each song, I don't think I can pick a favorite song yet. I'm liking Black Mamba, though.
I got news of this tour through Fuse, oddly enough. They had this big Fueled By Ramen band commercial, and TAI... was first and I was like 'Oh-em-gee They're on tour with the All-American Rejects?!' Here. November 26th. mrgreen I hope I can go!!

I downloaded TAI the other day, and listened to them last night, although I didn't pay too much attention because I was writing a paper. But from what I did listen to, I really liked. I liked "Slow Down" (I think that's the name) a lot.

I dunno why, but I just don't like "Checkmarks" that much. It's okay, but it's like...my second to last favorite song of theirs.
Okay, minus some of the ones I haven't heard too many times... (i.e. The Author, Absolution, In Our Defense) I don't have opinions on those yet.
xd They were on Discover And Download or whatever...they played "Checkmarks" and my mom wasn't too impressed. She always makes fun of Fall Out Boy because Patrick doesn't look like a rock star. xp She liked how William had the rock star look (but her all-time favorite is the lead singer of the All-American Rejects). She was annoyed that she couldn't tell what he was saying. xd I can't in that song either, so I can't blame her. But I still like it. It's just one of my least favorites.
I want to go see them...but I don't really know much of The Hush Sound, The Junior Varsity, or The Audition. I haven't even HEARD of The Audition. I've heard of The Junior Varsity, but mostly (not all, but mostly) because of the kidnapping/death of the one guy's girlfriend. cry And I saw The Hush Sound in concert once, but...uh...yeah. I don't know any of their stuff.
Wait...they have another relatively close concert with the All-American Rejects and Rooney! surprised But it's more expensive. And...I only know like...two or three AAR songs, and I've never heard Rooney. (Heard OF them, but haven't HEARD them.)
Why can't they be on tour with Fall Out Boy again?? gonk That'd be amazing. I actually know their songs now!
Rawr. They're high up on my list of "I want to see in concert" bands. sad MUST SEE!! gonk

The CD is fantastic. Attention has been stuck in my head all day. Black Mamba, Attention, and Checkmarks are my favorites. But I lost my battery power, so I haven't listened to it today. =( I HAVE to go to that concert...I've loved AAR for quite a while, they were one of the first bands I liked, and TAI... is amazing. I wonder if Rooney is any good...

I got into them through Purevolume, because that site is ******** awesome. My favourite song by them is 'Attention Attention' because it's so catchy. ._. And I plan on going to their concert when they come here, and if they do. <3

I saw a The Academy Is... t-shirt at Hot Topic today. I want to wear it on Free Dress day to school and when people ask me "What is the Academy?" I'll say "Almost Here." And they shall scratch their heads in confusion. >=D Their concert is in a few days! And I have tickets! YES! *Evil laugh*

Unfortunately for me *tear*, I discovered TAI... after my visit to Warped '05... It kills me that I was so close to seeing them live... I try to make up for it by listening to Almost Here at least once every day.
