AmberEyes was grazing with her calves in the bright spring sunshine, and she felt like the happiest cow in the world. As she cropped the grass, she watched her babes gambol about on wobbly legs. They were still too young to graze, but nothing could stop their sense of play. There were two of them, and while she wasn't entirely sure how she felt about their father, she loved them to absolute pieces. Her son looked so much like her, and her daughter was such fun to be around. She kept a close eye out for anything that might sneak up on them... including the twins' father. The black bull who was fascinated with the Flat Feet was devastatingly handsome, that was true, and very charming, but would that make for good father material? Whether or not they were actually mates was one thing, but AmberEyes wanted to make absolutely sure that her children would have a father figure in their lives. Her own father had been mostly absent, and she wished she'd gotten to know him better. A breeze rolled across the plain, bringing with it the scent of the others, and Amber could pick out his scent. Pricking her ears, she listened more closely for approaching hoofbeats- today would be a nice day for the little ones to spend time with him.

Wobbly legs usually only lead to one thing. Falling. Enyeto seems to be the master of them, specifically: faceplants. Hit face was full of tiny cuts from all his boarish antics and in that very instant another was added to the collection. The poor calf was getting more and more discouraged by the fall. He was about ready to just sit forever and give up on the walking thing. It was probably overrated anyway.

"There, there, get up kid." Hastiin beamed proudly at his clumsy son, kneelying on his front legs to give him a caring headbutt up. "You got to get the hang of those legs still, huh?" After helping his calf up, he bumped him forward his head. "Get going. There is only one way to learn, huh?" Hastiin glanced at AmberEyes, but wasn't very sure what to say. He was never very good with the awkward greetings. Often he tried to just avoid them completly.

Amber hurried towards her son when he fell, but her immediate attendance wasn't needed, as the calf's father helped him up, encouraging him. Immediately, she grew tense; was he judging her skills as a parent for allowing his son to fall down? Granted, the only way to learn was to fall occasionally, but she didn't want to be accused of negligence or apathy. And it wasn't like he'd had far to fall or was hurt or anything- Hastiin had no reason to assume she was a bad mother. She looked over her son; he was, indeed, quite fine. "Indeed. Hello, Hastiin." The tension and awkwardness were somewhat evident in her voice. "It's a nice day, isn't it?"

Mani trotted up to her father and playfully butted him in the side, the impact knocking her down. Unlike her mother, she was a hundred percent sure how she felt about her father- he was neat! With the ribbon on his horn and the feather he carried and the paint on his side, she was sure that the black male was the neatest-lookin' buffalo in the herd. And she was gonna look like him when she grew up, her mommy had told her. "Daddy!" she squeaked, blinking up at him with eyes like her mother's as she scrabbled to her feet.

Yet' got up and snorted in his father's direction. He adored his father, but refused to admit it. Boys were sposta be strong and brave! This calf was determined to prove it, too, to both his mother and father. "I can get up myself!" Enyeto ran of at a fast trot, focusing all his energy on not falling. That only made him not pay attention to where the rocks were on the ground; one was right under his foot and down he want.

"Errr... Hiya, Amber." Instict forced his glance at his son, even though he was talking to his children's mother. He just couldn't look her in the eye. He wasn't used to lasting flings, or an impact from the fling. This was only his first spring and he had two calfs! Not one, but two! They were wonderful, too. His little daddy's girl that looked just like her pops and the little boar who never wanted the help he was given. "Yeah it i-ouff!" A ram to the rips made him pause mid-sentance. "Oh really! Think you can tackle me do you!?" Hastiin laughed and gently pushed the calf back down on her side. "No, you don't little girl!"

Oof! Mani loved it when other buffalo teased her back. Popping back ungracefully to her feet, the little she-calf grinned at her gather. "Daddy!" she squeaked again, nuzzling against his side. "Watch what I can do!" Only wobbling a little, she took off after her brother. She wanted to show her father that she was just as strong as a boy. She quickly caught him, and just as quickly tripped over him, rolling on the ground. Giggling, she turned to look at her brother. "Enyeto, you ok?"

Amber smiled. It was good to see Hastiin playing with the calves, and great that he was taking interest in his son. "They've been doing this all morning; they're really getting the hang of this walking business."

Enyeto smiled at his sister, who was the only one he didn't hide things from. "I'm fine. You shouldn't trample people, though. I might get your hooves dirty." He snorted something like a laugh and got back up, running about with his twin. "You can't catch me!"

"That's good. they just might need that skill in the future." Hastiin chuckled and watched his kids. "They're awesome." He admired them. He was definitely going to take care of this kids weather Amber liked it or not.

Quite thrilled, Amber turned to Hastiin. She knew that a lot of bulls who weren't in committed romantic relationships with the mother would often ignore or deny the resulting children. But this male was different; he enjoyed his offspring. Maybe that meant he'd stick around. It would mean so much to all of them, especially their son. "Aren't they just? They really are amazing kids." A thought struck her. "Maybe when they're older, you can take them to meet the Flat Feet. If they're on good terms with you, I'd bet they'd enjoy your calves."

"Sorry, brother!" Mani called to him. She hadn't meant to trample him! But because her dad was there, she couldn't resist showing off some more. Pitching and tilting, she lurched off after Enyeto. "Gonna get you!"

Hastiin blinked at the thought. He loved the idea of the Flat Feet meeting his kids. They weren't bad creatures and didn't deserve the bad name the buffalo had for them. At least... Most of them weren't bad. He couldn't speak for all. "A thought you were afraid of the Flat Feet? Why the sudden change?"

"Never!" He sped up trying to stay ahead of her. "You're not sorry! Lies!" Enyeto laughed and turned running at his sister instead. "You're turn to run!"
