Lore

A Sacred Child is born to a Divine Mother - The God. As the days grow longer and light grows stronger, the God gains strength and grows to a boy.

During the halfway point of Winter and Spring, we celebrate Candlemas, the festival of light returning.

At Spring Equinox, the God is now a young man, and falls in love with the Goddess. All of nature rejoices in new beginnings and growth. The rabbit symbolizes the Goddess, and Her fertility.

On Beltane, the God and GOddess wed. Gardens and nature Herself is blooming and lively, as is the love of the God and Goddess. Daylight grows longer.

God and Goddess have their Union, and concieve a child during Litha. This is the height of the God's glory, and his power. Gardens are in full bloom. Yet, from this point on, the sun loses its strength, and the God grows older.

The God is the Wise King and ruler of his people on August 1st, Lammas; the First Harvest of grains and berries. During the second harvest, the God is the Mature God. Apples and pumpkins are harvested, and crops are cut down, as the stag gives his life life for the people so they can survive.

The God dies at Mabon, though it is not a sad time. It is a time of plenty and harvest; the Witch's Thanksgiving.

On Samhain, the God returns to the Underworld and rests. The Crone rules at this time, and all the crops are gathered in. All of nature rests with the God as he awaits his time to be reborn [the child of the Goddess.] His birth will take place on Yule, and the Wheel Continues Ever On...

here's an idea for this thread. have each sabbat in a separate post. that way if someone is looking for info on a specific sabbat it's all right together.
