Squad 9 : Training Grounds The grounds are composed of a great field with tall grass, spotted with trees. Targets are set up around and are routinely replaced after they become to damaged to use anymore. There is a sturdy looking chest with books on Kidou inside it, near the edge of the training grounds, for those who want to practice that.

Ah the training grounds. Let the destruction begin. Oh wait, she was here to train someone else. Right. Karixa looked out over the grounds quietly then pulled her sword and the sheath out from her wrap. She put it over to the side and stretched her arms, since she was a little stiff from the meeting. Eh, meetings. “Alrighty, get ready and we’ll see what you got. Cool stuff right?” She grinned and made her way to the center of the training grounds. She waited for Isaac to get ready and let this party get started. She really was not as good as she could be with Katana so she was just going to take this with bare fists and boots.

Isaac followed Karixa to the Training grounds. It had been a while since he last did any swordplay, so it would be a good idea to get in some practice where he could. 'Oh course, Karixa.' As she drew her sword, Isaac drew his. With his sword being an English longsword, he never decided to learn all the proper etiquette of using a katana. So after drawing his sword, he twisted his sword around the back of his hand. After the quick warm up, he moved to a ready stands, feet shoulder length apart, sword in front of him, diagonally in front of himself. 'I'm ready Karixa.'

“Cool.” She tossed her sword out of the way, and tapped her boots together. A one and a half inch blade appeared out from the tip and heel of each boot, which was the only bladed weapon she would use to test out Isaac. “Lets see what you can do.” “Have fun Karixa” The voice of Tamashiina Jokyoku sounded faintly amused in the back of her head, indicating that he would be watching, and would get fun out of the deal too. Karixa dashed forward with a simple side kick to get a feel for his speed and how he handled his sword.

Isaac was completely thrown off as his Cap---, as Karixa threw her Zanpakutou down. He continued to hold his stance, though slightly looser than he intended to, trying to asses the reasoning behind her last motion. 'Are you sur--' Isaac began before he was cut off by the clicking of Karixa's heels. Four small blades popped out and Isaac let out a confused noise. Sadly, he hadn't much time to think about it as Karixa moved in quickly to strike him. As per his training, he moved to the side a bit, away from the blow, and put up his sword to block with the flat end, not wanting to remove Karixa's foot. With a push to sent the foot back to whence it came, he slashed out with his sword in his right hand for her chest, leaving his open hand to his left, sort of in the position of holding a gun.

Karixa rather enjoyed the various reactions she got whenever she left her sword on the sidelines. “Of course I’m sure. I told you, I’m not as good with swords. That and I’m never one to deprive my friend of a front row seat.” Isaac needn’t have worried about taking off her foot with the block, for one her boots were a lot stronger then people gave credit for, and ran up to her knee. For another, she had a lot of reiatsu and a basic sword at Isaac’s level couldn’t take off her foot. He pushed her foot back so she let him do it and quickly put her foot on the ground, so she could use a kick from her other foot to deflect his slash aimed at her midsection. She did have a justification for using her boots right off the bat with a newer recruit, which was that they should be able to handle different styles of fighting, not just other people with swords. Of course it wasn’t just that, she really didn’t like using Tamashiina without releasing him. She landed in the wrong place with the kick so she jumped back and righted herself, trying to make sure that she was fighting him at the right level. Good enough. She wasn’t that far away from Isaac so she waited to see what he was planning to do next.

Karixa seemed to be a quick one on her feet. Isaac harrumphed as she kicked his strike away, his sword moving back to the side where he blocked earlier. Apparently Karixa didn't land too well, slightly jumping back a little. Now was a good chance to strike, maybe try and mix her up a bit. Regaining a stance, right foot forward, sword out in one hand, he moved in to close the distance. But first, he lifted his open left hand as if it was a gun and aimed it towards her right thigh. 'Alba Fulminis(White Lightning)!' Isaac uttered. As the last sound left, a bolt of lighting arched off his outstretched index finger towards the general direction of her thigh. Then to try and trick her up, he stuck at her left shoulder with a downward slice. It wouldn't be as strong as a two handed slice, but he hoped the weight of his Zanpakutou would help, seeing as it was a heavier design than a katana.

Karixa grinned and slid her right leg back the moment she saw his lips started moving. It was quite true that she was fast, and that made her quite suited to this style of fighting. She kicked up to block the blade, using the bottom of her boot to block it. “Not bad. What language is that anyway? Sounds cool. Latin maybe? Sounds like the official names of most animals.” She had long since learned to brush up on her science, to keep up with her Zanpakutou. She moved her boot to the side, pushing the blade down and too the side, making it easier to jump over the sword and land next to Isaac. “Nice though.” She dropped down to try to kick his feet from under him, and see how he reacted to that.

Isaac smiled a bit to himself. Apparently Karixa was fairly well trained in arts other than strange combat methods. 'You're correct. I've seemed to have a forte for it since I showed up in the Soul Society,' Isaac said. The combat was getting quite active now, he would need to push his visor up soon, he could feel it moving off his nose. After Karixa had blocked and pushed away his last strike, he spun with the push to try and move away. Sadly, he wasn't quite fast enough as Karixa's foot caught one of his feet. With both his feet traveling in a backwards direction, he didn't have anywhere to go but down. Luckily, he tucked in a bit and changed it to a forward roll, getting back up on his feet a few a few feet away. Turning around, he smiled. 'Very good maneuver, Karixa.' Isaac was having some fun with this. He didn't duel very often, but now with a nonlethal spar with someone of much higher skill he could try a bit harder as well as try and show his Captain that he was good with his sword.

Rintsume wandered through the halls of Sqaud Nine, almost burting with excitement that she was now a member of this squad. After finding her room, she had decided to find out where a few of the main places she would have to know about were. She already located her captain's office, the break room and the library, and was now searching for the trainning grounds. She quickly located it, mostly by hearing the sounds of a duel. She went outside and came across the scene of Issac and Karixa sparring. Rin stood behind a tree nearby, and silently watched the small fight. It seemed Karixa was testing the skills of Isaac.

Karixa grinned. “Lucky guess on my part.” She found Isaac rather amusing, and he wasn’t half bad at his sword moves. Still it was mostly a casual spar for the moment, and she wanted to push him some more. She took a skip step back and stopped in front of her sword. “Oh? Are we trying to get him to meet his Zanpakutou?” “Of course. It’ll be fun.” She flipped her sword up with the blade in the tip of her boot, catching it quickly in her right hand. She hit the tip of the sword with the blade in her boot, causing the sword to ring. “Play me a tune, Tamashiina Jokyoku.” The sword warped taking the familiar hand chime set-up, and making Karixa grin. She swung it as a test run, and the blade whistled distinctly through the air. “Let’s see what you can do. Whistle Slash!” She swung the sword in a horizontal path at Isaac, cueing the whistle. Even more important though, the near invisible energy shot at him. Its effects would not be so invisible. She was having enough fun that she wasn’t paying too much attention to the new arrival. She watched the wave go and turned her head back slightly for a moment. “I’ll be with you in a moment. I just need to finish up here.” The childlike voice of Tamashiina Jokyoku sounded amused as he said, "We have already warmed him up after all."

As Karixa picked up her Zanpakutou and uttered the release command, Isaac could feel a lump in his throat drop to the bottom of his stomach. Not necessarily the best thing to experience with her particular element, but he didn't know quite what her element was, even after it transformed into some loose interpretation of what looked vaguely like a musical instrument. The lump somehow seemed to fall farther within his being as Karixa said, 'Whistle Slash,' and swung the monstrosity of a weapon. He wasn't quite sure what to do. If his assumption that the distorted air steadily growing larger was in fact a compressed wave of air, then he would know what to correctly do. Since he wasn't quite sure what to do and that this was supposed to be a fairly friendly spar, he decided to try and make himself look a braver than he id he did what he'd rather do. 'Rejicio(Repulse)!' With the utterance, a blood red shield appeared in front of Isaac and he ducked down behind it to cover him best he could. If he had ran from it, then he wouldn't have learned exactly what the attack was. But if he did run, then he wouldn't have the terrible ringing in his ears. As the strike connected with the shield, the attack dissipated a bit, but the rest bent around the shield and converged upon Isaac. Sure, he only got hit with about 70% of the attack, but he still couldn't stand up very straight, stumbling from side to side. 'Iiii'll haaafta rememmmmber that onnnnne,' Isaac said, stumbling round slightly, using his own sword to keep him upright. He tried to pull his sword up straight, but he seemed to fall to the side every time he tried, so he eventually gave up, resting his head against the hand guard of his blade as he knelt down next to it.

“My, my. If you are so tired, how are you going to dodge the next one?” A fit of childish giggles broke out in the back of Karixa’s head, making Karixa herself grin. She flipped her sword over her hand a couple times, making the eerie whistle float through the air. “Sorry though, I can’t go any easier on ya.” She grabbed her sword and sent another Whistle Slash through the air, at a little less energy behind it. It headed at Isaac precisely, and Karixa watched the sound go, grinning all the way.
((Alrighty, you can speak with your Zanpakutou now. 2-3 good posts will do the trick, and get you your Shikai. I'm impatient. XD))

A little bit before Karixa had fired off her next wave of sound, Isaac had regained enough of his eardrums to stand back up. His ears were still ringing, but he had gotten used to it, sort of. Karixa spoke of not going easier, making him chuckle a bit. 'I wouldn't have it any other way,' Isaac retorted. That's the ticket! Flaunt your masculinity, that'll show that your know what your doing! Sadly, Isaac felt that he really would have to try and run from the next wave. And even worse so, his feet didn't feel like they were quite ready to move yet. Luckily, this wasn't on his lack of will to move, but had to do with the incessant ringing in his ears. Rather than the light pitched whistle of Karixa's attack, it sounded more like a low, mechanical hum...
As he opened his eyes from blinking, the world around Isaac changed immensely. Instead of seeing the grassy fields around him, the sides of buildings were on either side of him, along with a city's worth of smog just within the alleyway. This whole place seemed vaguely familiar, yet completely alien to him. He recognized his surroundings on par with an industrialized zone, but the structures seemed too complex and large for something that was built in the 21st century. Finally deciding to move, he kept his sword at the ready and began to walk towards the opening of the alleyway, scanning from side to side in case he sensed danger. A large shadow crossed over Isaac, setting of his alarms, first moving in a 180 to check his flank, only to see the last remnants of the shadow that passed over him. Spinning back around, he saw the shadow again, though it turned and followed what looked like a large road. As Isaac dashed to followed, he saw the source of the shadow in the dark, smog filled sky: a large, two headed bird.

Rin was astonished by the power, strenght and spiritual pressure coming from Karixa. Earlier, when she had spoken to Rin, all she could do was stutter a "Y-Yes M'am!" When Isaac went down unconcious, she guessed that Karixa had sent him to speak with his zanpaku-to. She had read about it and learned how people achieve their own zanpaku-to, bear it, and fight with it. Just thinking about it sent shivers of excitement up Rin's spine.
