The events of 9/11 were tragic no matter how you look at it. Flight 93 deserves a memorial. But a $58 million dollar memorial? 2,200 acres? That's not the kicker though. The kicker is that some of the people who own the land this memorial is planned for, do not want to sell their land to the government. It's their property! They should have the right to say 'no thanks. I'm not interested in selling'. You would think so. The government has decided to 'condemn the land'. Not sure what that means, but the government gets the land in the end. The government already has 80% of the land they need.
My opinion: That's bull! The government should not be able to just take their land like that. Ticks me off.

That's BS. Hey let's just dig up some soldiers graves in Arlington National Cemetary, move the bodies to some landfill, then replace the grave sites with a memorial to Colonel Sanders while we're at it.

Nice. But the government has the right to emminent domain, and even though it IS TOTAL BS, it is legal until the law is changed. ANd I still don't get why the government didn't fund the Vietnam memorial, yet they fund this.

ANd I still don't get why the government didn't fund the Vietnam memorial, yet they fund this. Discuss further. They didn't fund the Vietnam Memorial? That's sad. Does that eminent domain apply to all property?

Does that eminent domain apply to all property? The politicians will figure out a way to get around the constitution if they really want to...

Politicians make me sick when they pull stunts like that. That. and the video of a baby being born I was forced to watch in Health class.... burning_eyes

Neither video really bothered me though.

Anybody who thinks the Flight 93 crash is funny is down right weird many people lost their lives and if you think about most of them were probably glad it happened to themand not us

i dont think that it takes 58 million dollars to create a memorial for that crash, but i do think there should be one. i saw a news story about it and none of the people interviewed about having to sell their land seemed upset. and this was on Fox News, so if there was some wrong doing, it would have been reported.
