Noah sighed to himself softly, trying to get his hair to behave, but to no real avail. It never did want to behave, that was for sure, sticking up in strange angles and at odd directions. He grumbled a bit, simply parting his hair and brushing it as best he could, pulling all of it -even the frontmost strands he usually let hang- into a low ponytail, giving his reflection a weak smile. As soon as his hair dried, he would look even more ridiculous, but at least he looked nice for now, right? And he'd put gel in his hair, too, in hopes that it would keep it looking decent for an extended period of time. That would certainly be nice.

Peeking back into his room he groaned softly, rolling his eyes. "Silas, would you please get dressed? I'd like to leave relatively soon and get there about the same way. It'll get too hot to dress decently if we wait very long," Noah commented idly, walking into the room and pulling the door shut, letting his towel drop to the ground and digging through his closet for anything that was at least semi-nice. Thankfully, he did have some dress clothes left, and ended up in a white button-up dress shirt, a tailcoat, and a pair of black slacks. A little showy, but it was hard to expect any less of him, wasn't it?

Aludra grumbled to himself irritably. He didn't see why he was supposed to go with his dad when Adhara and Hale got to stay home and do whatever they wanted. But he supposed that Hale was, actually, going to see his 'mom', and Adhara was a mom, now, wasn't she? So she didn't really need to spend time with her dad today, who was going to the stupid graveyard to see his mom's grave. Aludra's tail flicked to either side as he pulled on an outfit a bit less fun and a bit more dark than his father's, shaking his head a bit. He hated Mother's Day. This was the first he'd ever experienced of it, but he hated it.

Silas lay on Noah's bed, idly watching the other preen and letting his mind wander. Personally, he didn't see why Noah was going through such great efforts to look nice to go see a dead person. Sure, she was his mother, but so what? Silas had had a mother too, back in the day; a blind, ditzy party-er of a woman who had preferred to leave him off with her mother than raise him. So he really had no reason to celebrate her. But then, obviously not all mothers were like that; just look at Adhara, for example. So he supposed that he would play along with Noah's ridiculous rituals for the time being, if his mother was someone worth going to see.

His musings were cut off by the brunette popping his head in and telling him to get dressed, which quite honestly, confused the young man. What, was he not dressed right now? If it had been anyone else, he would have snapped at them, but it was Noah, so he grumbled irritably and hauled himself reluctantly up off the bed. Looking around the room, he eventually chose a black tie that was lying on the dresser and clumsily tied it around his neck. There: fancy enough for the dead people. With his small contribution done, he stared blankly out the window, waiting for the other to (finally) be ready. "Okay, I'm ready. Let's go soon, huh?" he called out, muttering under his breath afterwards "I wanna get this over with..."

In stark contrast to the other members of the grave-going party, Lironax was rather excited. That is, he wasn't excited to go see a dead person, but the formality of the event (and the neat clothes!) made him feel all important and fancy. And from what he could gather, the whole idea of the holiday was a good one: celebrating mothers! Even though he never had had a mother, Lir still thought it was a good idea. Considering how much stress poor Adhi went through (and still kind of went through) with Adelle, the boy definitely thought that she deserved a holiday. Humming quietly to himself, he swung his legs off the edge of Aludra's bed, enjoying the slightly scratchy feeling of the lacy black dress he had borrowed from Adhara.

Watching his friend contentedly, his golden eyes widened when he saw the outfit that the other had chosen, and smiled brightly. "Ooh, is that what you're gonna wear, 'Ludra? I think it's a good idea; you, uh, don't look bad in black clothes." Lironax was finally toying with the concept of veiling his constant compliments, and therefore keeping Aludra's temper down. It was a little hard to get the wording right, but he'd like to think he was getting the hang of it.

Noah looked a little disenchanted when he glanced back over at Silas, the teen in such... normal-looking clothes. But what could he expect? From what he gathered of the other's strange story, Silas was only fifteen-years-old as far as his maturity went. Though even Noah would admit that Silas had the patience and happiness of an old man at times. That was for sure. He always seemed so... irritable. Like the old person every kid knew who would sit outside and never seem to move, shouting at kids to get off his lawn. He never had any fun anymore.

Noah fixed his hair a bit in the mirror once again, as it was already starting to poof up as it did naturally, before he gave a sigh. Alright, then, time to go to the park full of gravesights and visit his mother's, which was empty. After the crash, they'd never actually recovered her body, but that was unimportant. It was the thought that counted, and regardless of how little his mother had cared, he would respect the fact that she'd gone through the pain of giving birth to bring him into the world.

Taking Silas' hand, he tugged the other a bit closer to kiss him on the cheek, a soft smile coming to his face. "I'm really glad you're coming with me, Silas. It means a lot," he said softly, tugging the other out into the hallway and then down the stairs to wait at the front door, calling toward the other two from the bottom of said stairs. "Aludra, Lironax, let's get going!! We don't have all day!"

Aludra pulled a black overcoat on atop the black button-up that he wore at the base of the clothing. He glanced over at Lironax with the slightest of glares crossing his expression, before shaking his head. He'd noticed what the other was doing, that was for sure, but he was doing his best not to lose his temper over such simple compliments. His tail flicked back and forth, twitching every so often, proving the fact that he was trying to keep from snapping at the other.

With a sigh, he reached back to make as good of a French braid as he could manage from this angle, his hair finally ending up long enough that it got annoying when it fell in his face. A few pink strands still fell into his eyes and he growled at them a bit, blowing them out of his line of sight as he pulled a black band over the braid just in time for his dad to call up the stairs. "Second!!" he called back, sitting down so that he was able to pull shoes on his feet, glaring at them as though they were monstrosities. He hated shoes. So much.

Silas blinked in surprise at the kiss to his cheek, and to his utter humiliation, he could feel the beginnings of a blush cross his face. One hand went to wear the other hand kissed him and he wheeled to face the window, willing the redness to leave his face. Once Noah was gone, he relaxed a little, although he resolved himself to stay in the room until his cheek had stopped tingling. The 'teenager' sulkily started out the window, rubbing his cheek. Stupid Noah, randomly attacking him with such niceties. That is, he supposed it would be alright if he had any kind of warning before hand. But no, it was always out of left field, and then he would disappear before Silas could react properly. Perhaps that was a good thing; the young man certainly wasn't known for his social skills. Lack thereof, perhaps.

Within a few minutes, Silas deemed himself emotionally composed enough to interact with the outside world, and he walked quietly down the stairs to wait with Noah, mentally wishing that this trip could be over as soon as possible. They hadn't even left and he already felt awkward.

Lironax was content to watch Aludra dress himself so prettily until Noah called out to them. Although he didn't want to leave Aludra, he also didn't like the idea that they were holding up the event, so with a mildly apologetic smile, he hopped off the bed and half-skipped down the stairs.

When he was standing with the adults, he smiled up at Noah. "'Ludra's just getting his shoes on, don't worry. So, is this place far away, Noah?" he asked curiously, bouncing up and down on his heels.

"No, don't worry. It's only about... fifteen minutes away, by bus. That's hoping that we catch ours, of course..." Noah said and smiled at Lironax, the little crossdresser who was slowly becoming his newest child from how often Silas was gone. His brown eyes wandered, then, to Silas, whom he couldn't help but stare at for an extended while, not noticing his staring until the other looked back. He couldn't help but worry about the skunk-haired male, the boy who spent more time in planes than he did on the ground, especially since the two started dating, and Noah would honestly do anything that made Silas happy.

Even if it meant flying him out of the country every other day.

It hurt Noah to watch Silas leave both himself and Lironax so often. It hurt more to actually accept the fact that he was in love with the younger male, and yet could not bring himself to say it. He shook his head, watching the ground as they waited for his middle child to come downstairs, ever the gay fashion designer, even when it came to his own clothing. When Aludra finally came down from his room, the three of them left to the bus, the ride mostly silent as Aludra held fast to Lironax's wrist, as he typically did when they were in public, and Noah held on to Silas' hand snugly, wanting -in nothing more than his heart- to pull the smaller male tight to his chest and never let him go.

But he couldn't do that. Not if he couldn't get himself to say those three. Stupid. Words.

Silas didn't talk for the length of the bus ride, instead opting to stare out the window lazily, mind once again heading out into the wild. The thought that it was rude to simply ignore his... boyfriend and his son never really crossed his mind; after all, if they had wanted to talk, he would have come back from his mental Neverland. There was really no specific subject that he lingered on. It was all over the map: death, school, the lack of the former, what they were going to have for dinner, how odd it would be to visit Noah's dead mom, death again, Noah, Noah, Noah, Noah, Noah...

Lironax smiled pleasantly as he sat by Aludra, not minding the hard clamp on his wrist. Some people might have seen it as mean, but they just didn't know 'Ludra well enough; Lir know that it was because he wanted to protect him. This thought made him smile even more, and he looked blissfully out the window just in time to see-

"Oh, oh, I think that's it! That's the graveyard!" Upon his exclamation, the party of four filed out (earning a few odd stares as the other passengers wondered what was so utterly exciting about a graveyard) and were soon standing at the black metal gates. Lironax looked both ways into the field beyond, perhaps looking for some sign to tell them where they should go, before turning awkwardly (his wrist still claimed by Aludra) and asked Noah. "So... where do we go now, Noah?"

Noah smiled a little bit awkwardly when Lironax so happily pointed out the fact that they were at the graveyard. A woman glared at him with watery eyes and tossed her nose into the air; while her back was turned, Noah stuck his tongue out at her. Standing as the bus slowed, the male slipped his hand into Silas', gently interlacing their fingers and smiling at him faintly, before leading the other three off of the bus, making sure that Lir and Aludra were following along with them. The streets were quiet that morning, especially given where they were, the houses across the street seeming almost abandoned.

The brunette smiled down at his boyfriend's son softly and tilted his head in a select direction. "This way, you three," he said, sounding extremely solemn given he was Noah. The trip down the long, weaving sidewalk was surprisingly quiet, Noah absorbed in his own thoughts and the rest of them, likely, just respecting his privacy and time of mourning.

Finally, they came to a place where they turned off the pathway, hiking up a grassy hill for a couple short moments before coming upon two elegant gravestones, side-to-side, as well as many other groupings of them that seemed to almost reach a vanishing point with how far they continued along. As it would be guessed, yes, this would be the By'arre family plot. If his parents were in their graves, they would turn over at the mere thought of their gay son being buried in the same plot of land as the rest of his family, let alone his partner. Not that he'd ever come out to them anyway.

Tan skin was hidden away as the father stuffed both of his hands in his slacks, observing the flowers that had already been placed at the grave site. Unsurprising; after all, his foster brother -elder- had likely visited before he'd had a chance. It was funny; his parents had always pretended that they liked him so much. They'd adopted his brother because his mother was having a lot of trouble getting pregnant, so he was a pleasant surprise. His mom stayed in the hospital through most of her pregnancy, doing almost nothing for fear of losing him, and then after he was born, they simply dropped him with a nanny and went on their merry way. He didn't understand.

And he would never get the chance to ask.

Silas was surprisingly awkward as the party walked through the graveyard, looking uncomfortably at the many gravestones they had to pass to get to that of Noah's mother. You would think that a person that was so allegedly close with death would be right at home with a place like this, but in fact it was precisely the opposite. The boy couldn't stop thinking about the fates of the departed, and whether they had quickly found rest or had almost shared his fate in being destroyed in their mission to find it. The thought of them being ripped apart made the teen shiver, and he drew closer to Noah without realizing it.

When they reached the grave, Silas' awkward feelings only grew, as it was quite obvious - at least to him - that he was kind of intruding on this occasion. He'd never even known his lover's mother (although he had probably been alive around the same time) and here he was supposed to be mourning her death. Not that death wasn't something to be mourned, it was just... hard. Somehow. Shaking his head slightly, Silas noticed Noah's quiet mood for the first time and, after a moment's hesitation, reached into his pocket and grabbed his hand, giving it a squeeze. "I'm sorry."

Noah was nearly taken aback by the contact, having grown to not expect a lot of affection from his boyfriend, given the boy seemed more... indignant as far as their relationship was concerned. Sighing softly, he tugged on Silas' hand to pull him closer, wrapping his arms around the other's waist, leaning his chin on the teenager's shoulder. It felt awkward to be here with his current boyfriend, especially given it was mother's day, and it was his mother who was most against the whole sexuality issue. His father had never really seemed to care...

"Don't worry about it, Silas," he said, smiling softly and just standing there for a while, arms wrapped around his lover, spiting his mother with each moment he didn't leave. "There's one other place we need to go, though," he commented, making sure the two kids were still with them before heading to the other side of the graveyard, picking up a single daffodil from a stand he'd found partway through the park.

Finally, they arrived at a place that was much more important to him than his mother's grave. Kneeling in front of it, he placed the daffodil on the surface of the grave and pressed his palms together in a prayer position. He was silent for a while, and when he stood back up, there were tears in his eyes. He took a step toward Silas and pressed a kiss to the center of his forehead. "Should we be heading home, then?"
