The Jungle village is hidden within a massive jungle. Many insects, creatures, and a humid heat all stand to kill all that enter. The Jungle village itself is a little smaller than Gaioh and has been remaining neutral in all the other villages conflict but it gives the Swamp village support in secret.

(( Welcome to the Jungle, we got fun & games! ))

Westly stopped the team a bit outside the city limits. This had two purposes: one, it allowed them to discuss a few things like tactics and diplomatic protocol, and two, it gave the ninjas of the Village Hidden in Jungle time to spot them. For a team of foreign ninja, letting oneself be seen was a pretty universal sign of non-hostility.

"Alright," said Westly. "I assume we're going to be telling them what village we're from, that we're here to help, and why we're helping. Also, we can share what intel we've gathered from nearby villages. Broad strokes, at least. 'Hey, your neighbors got wiped out, thought you'd like to know', that sort of thing. If you're not sure, err on the side of shutting the hell up." He was smiling as he said it. It was more for shock humor value than rudeness.

Still, this was heading in the direction of a lecture, but it needed to be said. Unlike Westly, not every ninja specialized in playing mind games, and playing to win. Unlike Westly, some ninjas even had attack jutsus that weren't made of damp air and bullshit. "Above all else, don't play the game, play the player. Every time someone says a word to you, think about why they said it. What do they want from you, and how are they trying to get you to give it to them? Jungle isn't our enemy, but they're not necessarily our friends. They're allies of convenience. They'll appreciate our help, but they aren't loyal to Gaioh, and they aren't loyal to us. They're looking out for their own necks, just like everyone else."

He paused. "As for tactics... if fighting breaks out, we hit the girl, hard and fast. We take her out as quickly and brutally as possible, at any cost. Once she's dead or unconscious, that should break their troops free of her mind control, and better yet, it lets me cut loose. All my best genjutsu are just... tailor-made for large-scale battles like this. And she's the only one who can interfere with them. We take her out, then the White Hand is helpless against our tactical superiority."

Westly paused to breathe. "And once more, for emphasis, please do not touch me. Oh, and if I start to lie, play along...."

He wracked his brain for any other possible ways their techniques might clash. "Kei, your wind jutsus... as is, they're going to disperse my mist jutsus every time you attack. Is there a way to accommodate them somehow? Or hell, if you could somehow harness... leftover eddies or something from your winds... you might even be able to keep the mist from dispersing for longer. Can you work with that?"

"If I create a low pressure build-up above your mist I can ground it for a time and use the cooler air below it to create different attacks. Alternatively, I can draw in moist air caused by the jungle's humidity and you can multiply the mist capabilities." Kei responded to Westly's last comment, he was more of a warrior and less a diplomat so he would let Soul and Westly do the talking while he acted as over watch. "I would advise you to still thy tongue here Westly, the people of the Jungle have some diplomatic relations with the Swamp and friendly ones at that. A silver tongue you may have but it does you no good if it is removed." Kei warned his companion, it may be construed that while not a diplomat, Kei was remarkably well informed and while not one to boast of such things or anything for the matter, the Jounin possessed a rather extended spy network.

Westly rolled his eyes, but still smiled. Same old lecture. Honestly, it was growing on him. If missions were always like this, he could get used to them. "Yes, yes. 'Err on the side of shutting the hell up.' I mentioned that. It includes me."

Westly stood up (he'd been squatting down in the dirt as was custom when calling a huddle, so to speak). "Anything else anyone would like to say before Customs arrives? Soul? Kei? Forza, you've been quiet lately."

The lushness around the Gaioh-nin seemed to be restless. Leaves were constantly rustling as the wind swept breathe through the jungle. It was as if the surrounding area itself was alive. Everyone knew the jungle itself wasn't alive...but that didn't mean that there wasn't life in there...

(( Ah, technically speaking, the jungle itself IS alive, by definition. No, seriously. Jungle. Noun. A collection of very moist trees, which are alive.

Besides, there are three major things living in those trees: ninjas, bugs, and wildcats. We're expecting the ninjas, Westly keeps a wildcat as a pet, and the bugs... the bugs are the size of your head and very poisonous. Oh dear gods, keep them away from me! Ahhhhhh!!! *whimper*

Also, this proves it: Ghostly Gentleman is clearly the alt of Chaos. Or just... really, really bored. So bored that he's adding flavor text for us.

You know what, f it, we're getting reinforcements from Gaioh anyway, you can spot in for Forza while he's busy doing... I dunno, regrowing his beard or something, probably. It was a nice beard. Really tied his face together. ))

((Notice: The battle that will happen here may have upwards of 12 Gaioh ninja involved... it should be interesting to see how it plays out. However, since there will be so many involved, you may have to take this rrreeeaaalllyyy slowly.))

Kei looked up sharply as the wildlife around them picked up in intensity, the creatures had been used to their presence and had been relatively quiet. A sudden increase in activity like this indicated that something had stirred them up. In a jungle, it was usually indicative of an approaching predator but such creatures tended to shy away from humans especially when a group of people were gathered together, the scent could keep such animals away. The final and most probable of the possibilities was an approaching human or humans.

"Get ready, someone or someones are coming and while it is important to appear nonthreatening, if they have hostile intent be ready to defend yourselves." Kei muttered as he twirled his hand through the air above them, in response the branches above the party began to sway as wind began to move through the boughs overhead. Taking a lounging stance to appear outwardly unguarded, Kei was ready to drop a massive attack at a moment's notice.

*Soul had kept to himself for most of the journey to the village, formulating plans and what-not. The rustling of the leaves did not suprise him, so he jumped up into a tree. Quietly, he said, "Blood of An Assasin Jutsu. Ketushai..." It seemed like he had fled, but rather he hid, without a sound within the foliage. If someone was going to spring up on them, he was going to make sure that it was countered. He held a paper bomb in his left hand, following with his team and watching out*

Westly rolled his eyes at Soul. "Ah, well, more diplomacy for me, then." He leaned against a tree casually. The entire point of this exercise was to be seen. Bunch of elite ninjas showing up at the gates of a foreign village during wartime. You either announced yourselves or risked getting flagged as an enemy combatant. Actually, just to be on the safe side... Westly displaced himself, popping out of his own image. He was about five feet away from where he appeared to be standing. Five feet up, actually, perched on the tree against which he was leaning. Soggy ground like this was problematic for stealth, but you can't leave footprints on a tree. Especially if you took the time to clean the mud off your boots with a touch of Water Chakra.

Actually, that was what really made Soul's attempt at concealment amusing. Westly had learned most of the flaws in Blood of the Assassin: Ketushai from his rivalry with Harou. Namely, it didn't conceal secondary effects of the Assassin's passage, like disturbed branches or footprints. They were in the jungle. They were surrounded by thick undergrowth, and the ground was muddy and wet. There was probably a trail of footprints and snapped ferns leading right to where Soul was standing.

"Just as expected..." Those words echoed through the forest.

As both westly and Soul entered the foliage they triggered a weight sensitive trap, a metal net of sorts, made out of strong metal wire and special triggers. The net came from two sides, in front of westly and behind soul. It closed in on them quickly. They had two ways out, up and down. Up consisted of thick branches which would be incredibly hard to jump through and down was back to where they came. There was really only one smart way out.

"Foolish Gaioh shinobi..." That voice rang out loud and clear, although nobody was to be seen through the lushness of the jungle.

Westly slid down a few feet, under the net. His image didn't move, still leaning against the tree casually as the net passed over him harmlessly. "I grew up in a place like this, albeit colder, and my sensei used many traps, albeit more skillfully."

He smiled, inwardly wondering how and why the hell they'd put a net trap five feet off the ground on the side of a tree trunk, as well as how he'd failed to notice it. Some bizarre Wood Jutsu, perhaps? "But let's not point fingers about who's foolish and who's not. As you've noted, we're shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Clouds," he said, using Gaioh's older, more formal title. "We are to understand that you're having difficulties related to some old enemies of ours?"

A loud crack thundered out. Two bullets, fired simultaneous, rocketed forwards at the shoulder's of the young chuunin. They were fired from two modified six-shot revolvers of unknown make. With deadly accuracy, they aimed to immobilize his arms. The man knew that Westly talked to much and that his mind would clutter his actions. With the way Westly monologue, there would be no way for him to notice two bullets coming from the thickness around him.

To keep from being found, the man fired his shots and immediately moved silently, as to not be tracked via the trajectory of the bullets.
