Kunikore Miura-Benoit 五 Captian of Squad Five
"This day brings with it such a wonderful feeling,
A feeling void of all hope and hopelessness,
As I quest to become as lucid as the sky."
Near translucent orbs scanned quickly over the symbols painted on the white page grasped between the slender fingers of a small, pale hand.
'Interesting...' Sighing deeply, Kunikore placed the page carelessly on to her desk. Stretching her arms above her head, the shinigami decided that it was time for a break, and so she slid her chair back and stood to turn towards the open doors that led out to her gardens. Instantly, the sight of the small waterfall surrounded by several Cherry Blossom trees and multiple different flower types spread across the beautiful green lawn soothed the captain's frayed nerves.
Glancing back quickly at the clock on her desk, Kunikore took note of the fact that the time read, 12:43. Eyes widening in shock, 'Gah! I'm late for lunch! Kami, mother is going to kill me!' Racing around the room in an odd show of filing the papers strewn across her desk back into their proper files, the shinigami prayed silently that her mother would understand the new responsibilities that she now held.
Dancing back and forth on her feet, a sign of impatience as she searched through the file cabinet (another addition to the renovated office), Kunikore finally found what she was looking for, and stuffed the folders into place. 'Now!' And with a quick breath in, the captain made use of the handy shunpo skill, appearing in the kitchen of her home within seconds.
"I'm so sorry I'm late, mom, but- ...Uh, mom?" Blinking in confusion, her mother was never late nor missed a lunch, yet somehow, the elder Benoit female was nowhere to be seen.
Reaching a hand up to gently scratch the side of her face, "Oro?"
A sudden breeze filtering in through the open windows brought Kunikore's attention to a piece of paper being held down by her mother's favorite cookie jar. "Mm, cookies!" Practically skipping over, the captain was disappointed to find emptiness inside the jar, and scowled. "Tsk, thank you mother... Not." Scanning over the note, Kunikore learned that her mother had taken her father out to a popular area of Rukongai to do some errands.
"Unusual, but not unbelievable... So I guess I'll just head over to the training grounds for a bit and then grab something at Gobantai Café."
"In every which way, I can honestly say I am happy,
With feelings of neither success nor failure to restrain me,
As I look to become as invisible as the heavens.
I avow this circumstance that has neither beginning nor end,
As it is for this day that I wish to simply live."
