Hyrule Plaza

The center of Hyrule Town. Citizens of Hyrule are constantly rushing about the area, trading, talking, and many other things. There is a plethora of shops in the area, and many beckon you to come to their stall or enter their doors.

The actual plaza is a beautiful work of architecture - magnificent giant stone archs form the town gates, and the gate to Hyrule Castle. Neatly trimmed hedges and flower gardens, maintained by the Royal Family's workers, keep the place looking beautiful. Stone-paved streets and large buildings are all around.

This area provides a good meeting place, or just a place for peopel to relax, talk, and shop.

Enjoy your stay!

Max entered Hyrule Plaza, feeling chipper. There were places he wanted to be, places he didn't want to be, but Hyrule Town provided just as much satisfaction and blissful scents as the rolling plains of Hyrule Field did just before. It's a beautiful day. Almost no clouds in the sky.

He turned to Cole and raised an eyebrow. "Alright, bud. Before we head out, I want to do a little bit of shopping first." He pointed at all the shops. "This is a big place, so stick with me. You've never been here before, have you?"

He eyed the Bazaar and its wares, then the Veguits stand. He just prayed to himself that he won't overspend. Suddenly, he saw a young man with a sword and a familiar tunic that reminded him of someone, but he couldn't put his finger on it. He just cooly looked away. If he knew Max, he would wave to him or something. Best not to look like an idiot if it turned out to be someone he didn't know.

Justin eyed the various shops and stands of the plaza, there were so many things he wanted. But he couldn't bare the fact that he had absolutely no money at all on him.

He looked once more around the plaza when he noticed a familiar face observing the Veguits stand. He didn't exactly know who it was, but Justin was sure that he knew him in some way, from somewhere.

Even though Justin was certain that he knew the boy, he avoided looking at him because something that he did not like, was reunions

Cole looked at Max and Justin look at each other. " You know what. I am going to go find myself something that is going to be useful to me. " Cole said as he looked around the bazaar. This was pretty big and he could just easily steal from most of these people. " I need something other than this bow. " Cole said as he remembered what happened in the Forest Temple and his spear was burnt to a crisp. Great.... he needed something else now.

"Well, go ahead. You have 50 Rupees, right? Spend it wisely. You should probably extra arrows or something. Maybe some rope at the Bazaar." Max dragged him towards the Bazaar's little stand when he saw that guy from before again. I swear, I've seen that black tunic before...

He rested his hand on the hilt of his sword and pondered it all for a moment. Black tunic, blue trim. And that weird sword and shield...

Justin Edwards!

It all came to him at once. "Of course!" He thought aloud to himself, grabbing the quick attention of a few passerby, whom simply sighed and kept walking. "Justin Edwards!" He ran over and embraced Justin, giving him a full-fledged I-haven't-seen-you-in-two-years bro hug. "It's been forever!"

"What are you doing here, anyway? Just window shopping or something?"

"Huh?" Justin uttered while turning to see the familiar face running at him at full speed. He quickly tried to evade the incoming gesture of affection but was thrown off guard. He struggled and squirmed, but he couldn't break free of the boy's surprisingly strong grip so he gave up for the time being.

"If you don't mind me asking..." He tried to break free by pulling the boy's arms apart once more but he failed, and he continued "Who are you?"

"Whaaaat?!" Max groaned as he let go. "Max? Maximilian Klaus? Jeez, dude, my dad was a huge fan of your dad's swords. We used to play together when we were little..." He sighed. This was getting akward. "Basically, I've known you since you we were in diapers. How can you not remember?"

"In fact..." Max pulled out his old Longsword, which was replaced with his trusty new Gilded Sword. "I bought this from you pop's shop a few years back."

"Ha, you didn't have to say anymore than your name" Justin threw his arms around Max and gave him a hug in the most manly way that he could in this situation.

Justin let go of Max and looked at him for a few seconds and shook his head from side to side slightly laughing, he couldn't believe how different and grown up his old friend looked

"I knew that you looked familiar, what have you been doing all these years?"

Max laughed and flashed a devilish smirk. "Me? Well, I was basically just kicking a** and chewing bubble gum. At one point, though, I ran out of gum. Now I just kick a**." Max took a second to wonder if Justin remembered his cocky attitude. "Well, you know the story about my, uh, dad..." He gave a slight frown. "I've got new parents now. Love 'em to death. You know about that too, don't you? Zoras 'nd all that?"

"What about you? What have you been doing all this time? Sharpening swords and axes and whatnot?" He stole a quick glance at Justin's tunic, and then his sword.
"So, what're you doing around here? Shopping?"

Justin glanced at Max and showed a fake smile, for he had almost forgotten what a Douche bag he was.

"Actually no, I'm not a smith like my father" Justin paused for a second and looked from Max to a shop owner who was selling weapons. "I didn't want to do THAT my whole life, making weapons for soldiers and adventurers, while watching them go and live their dreams while i'm stuck inside making their equipment" Justin looked at Max once again, staring at the longsword in his hand which had been made by his father years ago.

"The truth is, I ran away from that, because i knew that if I stayed i would eventually become my father. I wanted to be the one using the weapons, not making them."

"Ohhh. So you're just playing the vagabond now, huh?" He laughed. "Join the club. My wonderful Zora parents let me do whatever the Hell I want. I've been pretty much everywhere. Scorched by dragon's fire, stealing from a rich old p***k, saving a bunch of little forest midgets... The works." He grinned. "Speaking of forest midgets..."

He pointed to his shorter friend, Cole. "This is Pole. I'm not sure where his fairy, c**, went..." He stuttered. "Whoops. Did it again. Cole and Pum." He corrected himself. "He's a Kokiri. From the forest and all that. I helped him out in their Forest Temple, doing what else than kicking a**, and of course, chewing bubble gum."

He shrugged, then continued speaking. "We're off to explore Hyrule a bit. Poor Cole doesn't get out much." Max laughed and playfully nudged his small friend. "So, Justin, you're free for now, right?"

"I suppose that I can stick with you guys for the time being" He crossed his arms, looked at Cole and grinned. "Where are you guys headed anyways?" He looked back at Max and uncrossed his arms, letting them hang loose at his sides.

Max grinned. "Aye, I guess you can. I don't think either of us has a problem with it, right?" He turned to Cole, not expecting immediate approval. He knew how Cole was - generally untrusting towards pretty much anybody. He'd grown to like Max and some of his friends - as far as he knew. He was the little tricky one...

Suddenly, a little boy a few feet away, holding hands with his mother, suddenly blurted out, "Look, mommy! It's a bird!" The mother laughed and patted the child's head, but he continued to point upwards in curiosity. The boy's parent finally looked up as well to see what was so interesting.

And then she let out a giant scream.

A gargantuan bird was flying overhead. It had the appearance of a giant hawk, and sharp, bloodshot red eyes. It let out a screech that pierced through the air like an airhorn and shot downwards towards the town square. It flew into a few people, but then focused on Max, Justin, and Cole. The bird, upon closer inspection, had lots of moss growing on its wings, and a few vines upon it as well. Max reached for his sword from his sheathe, but before he could, the bird swept past Cole, carrying him into the sky. Max looked up, but he was blinded by the sun, and only saw the bird fly into the Northwest, with Cole violently fighting back at birds giant talons, with apparantly no prevail.

Almost complete silence after the abduction. People were mumbling, worried for young boy that was just stolen, but thankful it wasn't them. Most were silent, though, staring upon Max and Justin. One child in the crowd was sobbing. "... Well." Max broke the silence. "Damn. We can search for him momentarily, but for now, we need supplies." He looked towards Justin and gave a dark stare. "Are you still in?"

Justin stared at the sky, where the kid he had just met, Pole... err... Cole was taken by a huge bird. He was shocked and a little thrown off guard by what had just happened.

"Damn. We can search for him momentarily, but for now, we need supplies... Are you still in?"

Justin looked at Max and grinned, "I think that I can take some time out of my empty schedule to help you out" he laughed, wondering if it was the right thing to say at this time.

As Cole was snatched away, Pum flew after him but really couldn't keep up. After a minute or two, Pum was too slow for the giant bird. He flew back down to Max and the newcomer. " Crapperdoodle. " Was all Pum as he floated next to Max. The deep purple tint to his glow was not very girly but his language sure was. " We have to go get Cole. I know I've seen that thing somewhere or heard of him before. " Pum said as he floated in circles for a few moments as if pacing. " Hey! " Pum shouted getting their attention. " Its from the Deku Dungeon. No one has ever really seen the bird because no one really gets out ali--! " Pum said as he covered his mouth before he finished the last word.
