Sky opened the door of the deli. She heard a bell ring as she entered the quiet little shop. As she stepped inside this peaceful little shop, a light fragrance of a variety of cheeses, and a stronger smell of salted meats wafted to her nose. The smell wasn't very over powering, it was quite pleasant to Sky. Sky loved the cheeses that are sold here.
This wasn't her first time in this deli, she had come here before. A few times to buy a bit of cheese, and a few times to buy ham and other meats. And once to acquire something else.
This was one of the times that she came to acquire that "something else". She walked over the the counter and waited for Anna to come.

"Ah, good afternoon," Anna said with a smile as she stepped out of the back room, wiping her hands on her apron as she walked behind the counter. "What can I do for you today?"

Sky smiled as she saw Anna, "Hello Anna! Nice to see you!" she smiled amiably. Sky glanced at the cheeses for a second, "Could I get a few slices of goat cheese? And do you have any feta cheese left?" she asked. She couldn't help it. What could she say? she liked the cheeses here as much as her mice did.
As she took out her purse, she asked, "Do you have any new mice? I could take another in if you'd like," she didn't say this too loudly, but since the shop seemed empty, she didn't refrain from using her regular voice. She had already taken in two mice from Anna before.

"Sure thing." Anna slid open the display, extracting plates of feta and goat cheeses and selecting a few blocks of feta and slices of goat cheese. She glanced around the shop as she carefully wrapped up the cheeses and placed them on the scale built into the register. "It seems there's been a few mice wandering around here, but all I've seen lately are little ones. It'll be 500 gold for the cheeses."

Sky smiled, "Thanks Anna! I'm sure Viv and Kaye will be as happy to see these cheeses as I am!" she laughed, taking her wallet out of her purse. After handing Anna 500 gold, she added, "Little mice? That's adorable! I'd gladly take one of the little ones from you,"
Sky was sure that Vivara and Kaye would like the extra company, they weren't anti-social mice, "May I see these mice?" she inquired.

Anna put the gold in the cash register and smiled ruefully. "Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch them, so if you want one...I guess you'll need some cheese. Babies tend to fall asleep after they eat... Cheddar is pretty effective at attracting them, I think." She took out a small piece of cheddar and put it on a small plate, placing them on the counter. "So how about it?"

Sky nodded, "Still that small huh?" she looked at the piece of cheddar on the plate, "Sounds good to me!" she smiled. She adjusted her head band and took the plate, "Where would the best place to put this be?" She had no idea about this, because she got Vivara and Kaye while they were full grown. But they still had lots of energy and mischief in them.
She knew it may not be instantaneous that the little mouse would find the cheese, but she was willing to wait for a while.

"Hmm," Anna tapped the side of her chin with one finger thoughtfully. "The storeroom is always a good place. You could put it behind the counter, too, in a corner out of the way. Of course we don't want other people disturbing the plate."

"The storeroom sounds good," Sky chuckled, "We don't want a little mouse scurrying across the floor to get behind the counter when there's a new customer do we?"
She didn't want to think about what would happen if a new customer came and saw the mice. Especially one who didn't know before hand and accepted the idea of mice in the deli. Sky knew this deli was still sanitary, but others who were new to this deli may not.

"Ok, then!" She walked over to the storeroom door and opened it. "Just pick an out-of-the-way place for your plate and you're set!"

Sky entered the storeroom and placed the plate in the corner where two shelves met, between the Bree cheese and the Mozzarella cheese.
"That would be okay!" Sky nodded, "How long does it usually take? When should I come back for the mouse?" she asked.

"Well, if you wait too long, it'll be long gone when you come back. Usually a day'll do it for you." She shrugged. "So come back tomorrow, and there'll probably be a little bundle of joy waiting for you!"

"Sure thing Anna, thanks!" Sky smiled. She hoped Vivara and Kaye would like the mouse that the cheese would lure.
"The safety inspection people haven't given you too much trouble have they?" Sky asked. She hoped that they haven't found any mice.

"It's been a while since there's been an inspection," she said, lifting down a several small, wax-wrapped cheese wheels and balancing them on one hand as she maneuvered around the door. "I'm not sure what I'll do when they finally come around again, though. No matter how many mice I sell, there always seems to be more! But that's a matter for another day. I've got to mind the shop." She set the cheeses on the back counter and set about slicing them up.

Sky felt unease, "Hopefully they won't come here for a long time," but she knew that one day they would eventually come. When they do, she could only wish that hey wouldn't see the mice.
"Well," Sky sighed, "I'll be on my way then! I'll come back tomorrow, take care Anna!" Sky waved as she pushed the door open, cheeses in one hand.
