Alice sighed, watching the first stars appear in the sky. She was at the edge of the small town she watched over. Few of the humans knew she was there, and fewer more knew what she was. Only the oldest and wisest knew. She shifted to a leopared and padded through the tall grass and up a hill to the large tree that overlooked the town. She curled up beside and watched the town, unaware of the sleeping Zack above her.

Alice leapt to her paws, growling fiercely at Zack. "WHo are you? Have you come to harm this town?!" She hissed, hackles raised in suspicion.

Alice relaxed and shifted back to her normal, slightly demon form. "I am a demon, so I can change my form freely. I am Alice, protector ofthis town. Nice to meet you,Zack."

Alice smiled and shook her head. "No, I'm a full demon." She siad. "And, if I were you, I would hide your ears from the people of this town. Some aren't very kind to those who look different."

Alice shrugged. "I try to ignore the ignorance of my people. SOme are quite understanding and know what I truly am. Those are the people that you should ally yourself with."
