Ah, suspensions and flesh pulling...
Anyone in here a participant of such actions? I'm getting ready to be a part of a flesh pull and suspension show, and am wondering who else has done such, and your reasons for it (ritual/meditation, euphoria, etc).

I am way to squeamish for this eek
About the worst I have seen was someone walking around with heavy weights attached to his n****e piercings, and large gauge wires through the cheeks. Yeah I have some tattoos and piercings, but in reality I'm a big wimp...

Its actually surprising how little it hurts (second-hand knowledge, soon to be first). A friend of mine and I may be doing our first suspensions at the same time, possibly doing a tandem flesh-pull to start things up (she and I with the hooks, leaning away from each other while attached to each other). I can't wait to get up in the air with this...hopefully I'll have some pictures of such when it happens to show everyone.

It looks like a very surreal experience, and everyone i've ever seen was tranquil as a cow.
I....have considered it. But I think my hubby would go batshit to be honest if i asked ><

But I think my hubby would go batshit to be honest if i asked >< Not yet. I have to get it done soon if I want to use the crew I know of up here (otherwise, I get to use my AZ crew instead) before I move. It is a sense of euphoria/ethereal connection for the suspended person, as I've heard from everyone, and one of my good friends uses suspension as a meditative exercise. I can't wait to get this done. Why would your hubby flip if you did this? He puts hard things in you on a regular basis; why can't you put something else in? razz

Something we just discovered watching the movie "Flesh and Blood", which is all about extreme body modification (focusing on people that I know in Arizona, surprisingly). My fiance Blackhorn is related to a man named George Catlin, who painted a picture of the Mandran Indian Initiation ceremony, which is a suspension ceremony that lasts for a day, with a week of fasting beforehand:  It is now our quest in life to own the original of this painting...

He is also quite posh for an Englishman, and in that society they dont hang from the ceiling with hooks. How bad does the initial piercing of the hooks hurt?

I rent out space to make ends meet. So your husband's a vanilla in the Extreme BodMod area? Has he ever researched anything like this, or does he simply disregard it 100%? The initial piercing, depending on where its done, your body type, your pain tolerance, and the like, can vary from slight (but heavy) p***k to complete pain, but as many suspendees say, "you have to pass the pain to conquer your fears."
