This is a nice discussion i've always wanted to have with intelligent exchangers.

Have you ever had the time where for example a chain wallet has risen dramatically in price but there only ever been a few on the marketplace?
Have you bought a cheap one and tried to sell for this new inflated price?
Did it work? Will you do it again?

Discuss. have you ever done this? has it worked or not work.

WARNING: this is NOT a secure way to exchange. These jumps on the marketplace are soon caught out and are severely ruined. if you are lucky to find a stupid buyer then congrats but otherwise you are looking for a one way ticket to a loss profit. believe me i have been in this position before >_<.

GO!

just on a side note.

When the towns first came out did any of you buy nay rare bugs? i did and it turned out good. on the 3rd day of it being out i made 300k profit on a Great monarch and i made a further 200k on 2 whistlers a week later.

lucky. very lucky. but as for the monarch. i sold it on the vend. confused

Depends.

I don't really trust artificial inflation rates. Of course if I see something that was cheap previous to the inflation I would buy it and sell it higher, but not at the max inflation rate.

I have been known to screw up people's artificial inflations by putting in a ton of the same item for less than theirs. lol

I've actually seen you do it. razz

But for me, I don't trust the max inflation rates, however if you're quick enough, you can jump in for a price that's between the inflated price and the proper price. From there, a quick sale can make you a pretty penny. smile

Of course with all things marketplace and exchange, caveat emptor... as bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. 3nodding

I personally find good ol' exchanging much easier to make profit. I have jumped into the artificial raises and made a few million. Though its something I don't entirely trust and I very seldomly ever do anymore.

And here I am thinking that a 50-80k a day is a hefty profit. razz

I suppose at this stage of the game, we're rather spoiled. (Kagen and I) Its a little easier to exchange with the higher items. More profits besides. And with more available items, there's more of a chance that we have an item that is usable in a good deal.

I don't know.

I try not to jump in. It's kind of dangerous to jump into a price fall/rise, but sometimes you just can't help it, and sometimes I get into it by accedent. It's hard to avoid.

I myself, have never done this on purpose. I may have brought an item at around 10K below it's inflated price, and then the prices go back down and I end losing out. I lernt from the best how to exchange <3

I made no sence what-so-ever xD

You so beat me to saying that. *shakes fist at work and not checking this last night*
It is true. Example, I bought a pair of bunny slippers for rather cheap. Sold them for chicky slippers + sash. Even without an upgrade alexi did for me, I still would have made 2.5 million. But with Alexi getting a my chicky slippers for bunny slippers + omg (I s**t bricks when I was told) That racked in an extra 2700k. Basically made that sash full profit.

It is true in real life as well. The best way in real life to make money is through real estate and stock market. Both of which require money on your end to begin with.
