The Matron's Sanctuary

Overall appearance:

There's a medieval style feel to the room. The floors are a burnt wood, taken from wooden houses found on the surface after raids. The walls are stone but have the same ancient prayers found in the entrance hall. A great spider is etched on the ceiling above. There is one enchanted window like the ones found in the Throne Room where the Matron often sits to read and relax on the carpeted stone stairs that lead up to it. Braziers are found on the walls that glow a mysterious dim blue fire. Incense lingers around the room.

Furniture:

A huge square stoned bath
A screen for changing
A huge stone open wardrobe
A huge clawed foot, four post bed with red satin sheets and red linen hanging around like a canopy
A private altar for Lolth
A desk
A high backed chair
A portal that will take the Matron anywhere in the House

~ No one is permitted to bother the Matron in her room. If it is an emergency, the Patron or preferably, the Eldest Daughter are permitted inside this room.

Smiling up at Flamgra she could barely keep in her glow.

"I told you, I have something for you..."

She then closed her door and walked over to a desk and pulled out the drawer to retrieve a book and her signature spider quill. She then walked over and sat on her bed sitting cross legged as she opened the book to a blank page and began writing.

"I think its time I let you in on a House secret..."

Flamgra walked over to the bed where she sat,her outfit was very revealing and when she sat cross legged, more was probably visable. Flamgra averted his eyes from such things, leaning on one of the posts and watched Lari scribble in the book.

"I'm listening"

Lariexith paused in her writing and looked up at Flamgra, "Tor'afin is planning an attack on Alaenduis indirectly," at this she gave him a dark smile.

"I gathered as much, why else would we ally ourselves with suck ilk?" Flamgra said with a smirk,he did not want to sit on the bed and just assume it was alright. So for the time being he would merely lean on the post of her bed and watch her write out her plans.

"I needed her to sign that Contract. It was a play on words if she should ever decide to attack my House in revenge."

Lariexith then dug for a copy of an alliance contract and pointed out the key sentence:

I, Matron (first name), swear that neither I, nor any House member, are permitted to declare war on this House as long as this Contract remains untarnished.

"It says only if THIS Contract remains untarnished... meaning she, nor any former member can touch me. And after her House goes down... this will be submitted to Rylinndar to ensure no attacks will be made. We'll be under the protection of the First House."

"Hmm,that is quite clever, she probably never even noticed the play on words. She seemed quite dense for a drow, perhaps all that time on the surface fried her brain. Even entering that house was painful on the eyes, good thing my connections on Mt.Nevermind in the region of ElseWeyr remains in tact. Apparently gnomes don't use slaves to make weapons, they do it them selves, and they have these extra thick goggles to help them see through the sparks. I could try to get some and it would better equip our soldiers for the raid on Aleanduis and to the surface." Flamgra said as he stopped leaning on the bed, pacing back and forth slightly. He was somewhat lost in thought, but he was attentive enough he would hear the matron speak.

Lariexith nodded in agreement, "Yes, we'll be needing that type of equipment definitely. It will look good when Hun'afin comes to us for help.." the Matron allowed the comment to linger in the air. This was the more ingenious part of the plan.

"Yes,hmm I will have to send someone to the surface to contact the dunmer and then we will go from there. Shouldn't take more than a month to have enough supply. Especially if I say it's for me." Flamgra smiled and resumed leaning on the bed. He traded a valuable piece of metal to the gnome for a lifetime of favors, a very fair trade in Flamgra's eyes.

Lariexith returned to her thoughts. All of the supplies delivered no later then a month would be about right to cause the initial action. Lari wanted to keep things quiet until then.

"That sounds good... Flamgra... do you know why Hun'afin will be asking us for help?"

"No I do not" Flamgra shook his head and looked at her attentively, even though she was a matron,he could not help but admire her beauty. I wonder if her daughter is as beautiful as she is. Flamgra thought to himself quietly, paying attention to Lariexith the bets he could. Battle plans were always his forte.

She smiled as she looked back down into the book and continued writing, "I'm writing a letter right now to ask the aid of Harl Olath, the mercenary clan in Au'shinduago. In return for their services I will be giving them a hundred experienced soldiers plus shipment from the surface. Food, slaves, arsenal, that sort of thing. But for me, they'll be carrying Alaenduis' banner and attacking Hun'afin. Once Hun'afin finds out they'll be wanting to stage an attack on Alaenduis. However, there might be risks if they take it one on one. That's where we come in with an alliance. And they surely will not refuse. We have a map on the front entrance and we are also allied with Gaundroth. Meaning, more troops. Plus... something else... and this is where you come in more importantly. While we wait for that shipment in goggles... I want you to train fifty peons. Some of them will be doppelgangers only because I have more then I need and they're more useful in situations like these. I'll have them implanted with tele-communication stones. Train these peons and we'll send them over to Alaenduis. They'll be able to scout out the rest of the House and attack from the inside, out. This will be made a friendly gesture in Alaenduis' eyes. But when the time is right and we are called upon by Hun'afin... then we must follow our end of the contract... and help them."

"Then I will send a servant to the surface to contact the dunmer, if our plan manages to go full circle, then we should be able to destroy Aleanduis within say, two months. It will take a month for the goggles to get here and in the meantime I will be training the fifty elites. I would give them a few weeks to get all the necessary information, then after we send the soldiers send the mercenaries. I must stress that this be you and me,other ears and eyes could have loose lips." Flamgra said, leaning in close to Lariexith, almost whispering in her ear.

Lariexith threw her hand out to his chest to stop him from approaching her any closer, her eyes were stern, "That's why I brought you in here so no one would expect anything. They'd think you're just my play toy for the night," she chuckled at this statement amused before pressing on, "I'll give you two months to prepare. No more then that! The peons are not to know ANYTHING! Their minds are weaker against our magic to mind probing. They'll be given the implants, trained, and sent to Alaenduis. When the time is right, I'll contact them with my own stone. I'll contact the mercenaries a month from now just so they're prepared. When its been two months exactly I'll be hosting a dinner party," Lariexith suddenly grinned at this.

"A gathering of the Matrons and whoever Noble they wish to bring! The whole city of Ulorbbath will be invited! Except... Alaenduis. On that day I want the peons sent to that House. On that night, when everyone is here, the mercenaries will do their attack on Hun'afin. Alaenduis will be framed way before the initial action takes place."

"I meant no disrespects, I will not tell any of them, all they will know it that training will be hard. I would like to start with fifty five or sixty, that way if there needs to be a few casualties it won't affect the plan. Is there anything else you need?" Flamgra said, straightening his posture and removing himself from her personal space.

Finally,a chance to get into that training room. I have been here a day and I haven't even seen it yet.

Flamgra thought to himself and smiled. He would beat those soldiers into shape if he needed to. Military drill instructors for the drow armies would seem like push overs compared to him. The main difference was that the drill instructor needed all the recruits they could get, Flamgra could easily replace them and had no issue killing those who did not keep up with the rest of the troops.
