i dunno guys, i LOVE the avatars and i LOVE the items, but i feel like the economy and the community are going to s**t.
even the recent monthlies have disappointed me so much!
there's lack of gold sinks, the events are frustrating and annoying with no direction and sometimes...as we saw with ******** no point.
i don't like the admins very much, i don't like they way they censor or punish or ignore or ban people for speaking up or out. i don't like their 'we will do it our way or no way and you all better accept it or you will be banned or warned'
i don't like the inconsistency of them saying one thing then turning around and doing or saying another (yearly shop anyone)
i'm also bored. i'm so effing bored! the same items are in the exchange. we sit there and wait and wait for new features and recolors of old items and let the gold flood the system and the only gold sinks we really have are in events where you have to pretty much buy your way through the event. the di's are getting ugly but they are the only guarantee of new items. there was ONE major store update that isn't even finished. ******** the easter event lasted MONTHS because they were so disorganized and worried about everything else that they start one thing then start another then don't finish and start another so we are all left with half a** finished things and it gets boring!
i don't know if the site will survive. i remember magivolve (anyone know that one) now while i wasn't on it a whole lot i remember the owner/artist wanted to change the bases without telling anyone and people freaked....basically s**t happened and people got mad and drama, drama and it shut down. (though i can't remember the EXACT reason why) my point is that it was fairy popular and one of the first avatar sites that rose up after gaia (before roli and menew and them i think)
where are they now? DED!
i feel like soli is on the path of destruction and i've put a lot of money into it over the last year. i don't know if i should gamble and stay with it or if i should trade my items for some rockin art and quit.
i don't know if awesomely beautiful pixels are worth all the stress and drama and childish games and boredom.
part of me wants to stay in case there is a change in staff and it gets better then i would be sad i gave up all my items...but i dunno i'm torn. ;/
i'd say 'oh i'm going to keep my items incase i come back' but i don't know if when i come back the site will really be there or flourishing (like when i decided to take a few days from magi but didn't want to quit fully or give up my items and the site was gone.)
what do you guys think? i really like ernya i feel like i want to give it my support and money more then i do to solia. but damn..i love the pixels on solia...>_<

Well, if you're unsure, don't quit outright yet and give away all your items and whatnot, because you could regret that later. Take a hiatus, just get away from the site for a few days, weeks, months, and then check in later to see if things are better. I'd imagine that the site would still be there, but you could maybe spend half your money on art, I dunno. Ernya seems nice from what I've seen so far and it's just a baby site. Have fun, that's all that really matters.

I agree with taking a hiatus before just down right quitting. I've taken a hiatus with Gaia only coming here to look at the updates for the most part and been posting in between Solia (which was down today) and Enrya.

I more or less quit -- gave all my items away, barely ever post -- and I don't regret it, but it sounds like you spent a lot more time and emotional involvement on Solia than I ever did. I agree that you should take a hiatus and keep all your items for now, if you're unsure. If the site's gone when you return, well, so what? You wouldn't have lost anything that you wouldn't have lost by outright quitting anyway, would you?

Caden Blue I agree that you should take a hiatus and keep all your items for now, if you're unsure. If the site's gone when you return, well, so what? You wouldn't have lost anything that you wouldn't have lost by outright quitting anyway, would you? I agree with this. Solia is supposed to be a fun retreat, but if it isn't for you, perhaps at first a hiatus is better. If you come back and still don't like it, maybe then you should move on. Though, that's a decision only you can make.

Haha, the only way the staff would really change like that is if Iscy had a big rage. I don't think that will happen, at least not anytime soon.
I'd do what the others said. In fact, I have tried to quit Solia several times but came back. xDD
As for "we'll do what we want" thing, sometimes maybe, but definitely not always. I actually think the admins are going too far in their quest to appease the masses of Solia. They now ask the population their opinion on almost every little thing, and that slows them down even more. Furthermore, the opinions they gather are hardly accurate because the people who vote/post in those threads are only a fraction of the active population. The SCD is pretty slow. =/
Gold sink events - I'm so tired of gold sinks. We've had, what, four? since the site opened. That's insane. If the admins had concentrated much harder on getting out commons and more basic things first, then there wouldn't be a so-called need for gold sinks. And I honestly don't believe gold sinks are needed.
I was on Magi! I went looking for it one day and it was gone. I was actually starting to get into it.

I personally see nothing wrong with Solias Staff :0
and yes some of the newer items haven't been that great but I still love them especially once the recolors for them come out

Here's the way I see it: If you stay because of the things you love, then take it for what it is. Meaning: If you stay because you enjoy the avatars and items, then focus on that. If everything else bothers you, then remind yourself that those things aren't the reasons you are there and then promptly disregard them. If the things that bother you about Solia don't bother you here on Gaia, then you have an outlet. Don't expect Solia to be what it isn't. Just take it for what it is and get the enjoyment out of it that you can and leave the negative stuff alone. If you're not there for it, ignore it.
Sorry for the repetition!
