Who: Wit, Toshi, Alex & Zul When: Late morning Where: Lab 305 Weather: Promises to be a hot one!
Alex hadn't been prepared for the birth of another Raevan, and it showed. She was running around the front office, papers shuffling between her hands and a pen stuck between her teeth, going between filing some of the stacks and riffing through others, tugging out a sheet here and there and compiling the proper ones for pick-up. It wasn't usually such a hurry, but she had already called Wit to excitedly tell him that his Raevan was awake and ready to be taken home. Time was of the essence now.
Her hair was pulled over her shoulder in a ponytail, her loose bangs framing her face and making her look a bit softer than her severe pull-back. She wore a well-loved, black cut-off that had a faded print of something art nouveau that was cracked and chipped with time, set over what looked like pin-striped bottoms of some sort, something she very well might have been using as pajama bottoms. Had anyone else caught Alex in this state of rest and disarray, she would have been brighter than a cherry tomato; as it were, it was Wit, and she knew he would forgive her appearance for the greater good of what was at hand.
The demon had already headed into the back of the facility, excitement making his grin wide and threatening to spill into laughter at the drop of a hat. His bone wings clicked together in anticipation, hair already a tousled mess from having been interrupted from his morning chase with Lorenzo to go visit Wit and his Raevan. Truly, the only other thing that could stop him so cold in his tracks was a certain Sigel; he was still sore he'd missed Wit the last time, and was not about to be left behind for this!
Zul's tanned fingers curled around the handle leading into the room the Raevan would be kept in, pulling it down and tugging the door open to admit himself. He made a show of entering and turning his back to close the door, making sure the newborn could see him and be aware of his presence rather than startle him - something his woman had taught him to do if he wanted to help her with waiting for the Guardian's to come. Naturally, he'd disregard such information, but because it was Wit's Raevan, he felt the need to take care until he knew what he was dealing with.
He had no idea what he was up against.

Wit was hardly in a more prepared state. If Alex was unkempt, then it looked as though the blond was trying to outdo her. The man was in jeans....jeans! Something that had been nearest the bed when he'd awoken, and had probably been worn the day before, made use of again, as those particular set of denim pants were obscenely comfortable and could surely endure the wear. They didn't smell funny either. Wit had checked. Twice.
The halfbreed hadn't had time to wash his hair this morning either, and so he'd tied it up, snagging a clip and putting the entirety of it in what looked like an almost feminine 'do. That combined with the dark, button-up top of the latest style really did little for Wit's masculinity rating. But though he was tousled, he did look pretty, at least that was what Dweian had wryly said when his employer had emerged from the room, quite breathless and with his phone still in hand, something he had utterly forgotten to put down whilst dressing in his rush to get out the door.
Had anyone actually taken the time to observe, he was also missing a sock.
Making his way to the Lab, he was glad that he had some idea of where to find Alex today. As overjoyed as he was to see his favorite Lab employee, there was something much much bigger on the horizon. "Alex?" Calling the woman's name, the blond's grin only got wider when he pushed the door to the office open. Well, looks like two of them were in a hurry-scurry today.
~
Meanwhile, in the back, a pair of furry golden ears swiveled attentively, the Frei serenely bobbing in midair as Zul entered the room. Eyes remained closed, but the newborn craned his head forward, making it clear that he was intensely curious about the other Raevan. A trilling, whuffling sort of noise escaped him, and he took a sniff in the demonic Frei's direction, wrinkling his nose at whatever he might have scented.
A delighted smile curved lips upwards, and he began to scoot his way nearer to the other, not at all shy, tilting head this way and that to get new angles by which to view this glorious new acquaintance. There was but a glint of amber behind the kitsune Frei's luscious lashes to indicate that he saw anything at all...he was far from blind, and it seemed he didn't need to open those lids to see.

The half-breed was met with the most gleeful squeal to fall from mortal lips.
Alex practically leaped over the desk and ran to Wit, throwing her arms around him in an excited hug; she gave herself brownie points for not outright leaping into his arms. As happy as she was to see him and as elated as she was that Wit's Raevan was finally here, she had to keep up some pretense of a work and client relationship.
The Italian threw that ideal out the window and gave him a swift kiss to the cheek, a greeting reserved for her friends and family. "Wit oh my goodness I was going to run down to your place myself," she gushed, not even bothering to take a breath as she grinned at him from a close distance, eyes dancing with all sorts of green, "not that I know where you live but damn if I wouldn't try, I've been chewing the very existence out of my pen and -- are you ready?" Alex took a few hopping steps back, bouncing on the balls of her toes with an ever widening grin. "Zul's already in there, and I always make sure Guardian gets first look at their Raevan. It's like a tradition!"
One that she conveniently made up, but who was counting? "Oh wait!" The woman made a hiccuping sound before she darted around the desk again like a darkly colored humming bird, flitting from paper stack to paper stack until she found what she wanted. With a quiet 'a hah!' of triumph, she picked up Wit's contract and returned to his side - complete with a pen that hadn't been chewed on - and offered it up with a beaming smile. "Your signature, good sir, to say you are accepting responsibility for this wonderful being."
When the demon turned, he was greeted by a newborn scooting ever closer. He didn't mind the closeness in the least, he simply wanted to get a good look at Wit's charge - but he was direly hung up on one simple fact. He was hornless! "You're fuzzy!" he announced to the Kitsune with a mix of surprise and joy, floating a fraction of an inch closer to the oddly dressed Frei. And what was that smell? Was it him? It was delicious!
Bone wings flapped a few times before settling against his back again, lifting a gloved hand to press over his own chest and giving a slight bow in greeting. "I am Zul," he greeted in his usual fashion, although his smoke-filled voice was full of intrigue and open curiosity. "You have fuzzy ears," he repeated, apparently finding this fact both baffling and fascinating, tilting his head to the side with a wide grin. He couldn't wait to see what Wit thought!

Wit's eyes went wide with startlement as the Italian woman expressed her joy to him in a way that made the halfbreed's own delight seem almost minute in comparison. He laughed in pleasure as he squeezed Alex fondly, deliciously happy with her greeting as it only added on to the exultation of the moment. "Ah helloes, dear Alex! Wit is sorries to be keeping ye waiting, but..." He shrugged easily, whisking away worries, "This one is here now!" The childlike jitters that had seized him were almost overwhelming, like a toddler begging for permission to exit his room on Christmas morning so that he could get to his presents. The first look...he wondered what the mix of kitsune and coffee had culminated into, what sort of Raevan it had spawned... The Raevan that would be his to look after, to raise and nurture. Whilst he was confident he was ready for the responsibility, his dear butler had expressed doubts as to his capability to be the guardian of a being, especially one that had the mindset of a child. There were times, after all...that Wit seemed a child himself...but that was only half of what the tall, blond male was - as so much more lay underneath.
Reaching out an expectant hand for the paper, he leaned down to place it on the desk, spinning the pen in his fingers with a hum, as though his impatience came out as a giddy vibration. Signing with a flourish, he handed it back to her. "And this one is most surelike that a wonderful thing it will to be being." Nodding sagely, he turned, taking a deep breath in preparation...he was about to be a father...more or less. "Wit is ready..."
___
"Fuh-zzyyyyy?" He yipped, cocking that head again in a puppy-like fashion as ears swiveled like radar dishes, honing in on Zul's words. Craning his neck, invading any personal space bubble that the horned Frei might have had, his grin widened to become almost impossibly wide, and he touched a hand to his own chest, as if in question that the word did indeed refer to him.
Reaching up then, moments later, he touched his own ears, fingertips brushing curiously along the soft fur. Rumbling happily, obviously satisfied with the feel of them, he sniggered, keke-ing as though he had some personal joke in his newborn mind that Zul wasn't privy to. Then, he proceeded to try to do the same thing to the other Raevan's horns that the kitsune Frei had just done to his own ears. "Zuuuuuul." He drew out the word with a sound not unlike a purr, though it was more canine. "Zul am you?" It was a question, trying to stack all the word-cards up the way that they should be in his mind.

The woman laced her fingers together behind her back, quietly rocking on her heels and nibbling on the inside of her lip while she waited for him to sign. Alex was doing her damndest to rein in her excitement and let Wit's take precedence; it was his important day, his moment, after all! When the pen was put down next to the contract, she hardly gave it a second glance before she gave a skip and a bounce down the hall. "This way!" she chirped with enthusiasm, grinning over her shoulder as she bounded down the hallway that she was used to walking down in a slow and measured fashion. That was all out the window today!
She reached the back door in no-time flat, giving it a few raps with her fist - not too hard! - before spinning on heel to face the half-breed, her joy relegated to her eyes. "Alright, Wit," Alex managed to keep most of the giggle out of her voice, carefully opening the door without looking through herself, "let's see what this story has wrought."
Rich laughter returned the newborn's antics, his posture at ease despite the excitement and intrigue thrumming through him at the kitsune's close quarters. The curiosity he displayed only fed to the demon's own, blue eyes watching the fingers that touched fuzzy ears with an approving grin. "Very fuzzy," he agreed with a trace of laughter still in his smoky voice, "but fuzzy is good." Or so he assumed. Who was he to say? He wasn't fuzzy himself, and he was the pinnacle of good!
The snicker and the drawn out sound of his name brought back memories of another Raevan, but only briefly. Zul almost flew backwards at the invasive touch to his horns - perhaps the only thing he felt personal boundaries for - but he was good, and floated his ground, ducking his head a bit to let the wandering-fingered Frei feel the difference. His central horn cooled even as it continued to glow - just in case. "Zul I am," the demon agreed with a confused sort of grin, getting caught up in the enigmatic mannerisms. He hoped this one would always be so friendly!
Just as he lifted his hands to tentatively reach for the kitsune's fuzzy ears - ooooh, he wanted to touch! - the knock was heard, prompting his hands to lower and instead lightly take the newborn's arms. "Your Wit is here," he told the other male, sky-blue eyes turning towards the doorway as the heavy doors opened. "Wit! Come see!" he crowed cheerfully, feeling giddy at the prospect of seeing the fae-pire again.
