The busiest railway station in all of Japan, Tokyo Station is the connecting station to many others, and is the starting point for many of the Shinkansen lines. It is a wonder to behold, and is quite possibly the oldest railway station in the entire country. Located in Chiyoda, it's only a few minutes walk to the Imperial Palace as well as the National Library.

With a sigh, the young woman took a quick glance at her watch. It was a weekend, and she knew that the train traffic always seemed to pick up on the weekends. Tatsuko was dressed rather casual today, not in her usual school uniform, though you wouldn't be able to really tell by looking at her. Short pleated skirts, often plaid, button up shirts and mono colored vests were a staple in her attire, as that was what she felt comfortable in. The only way to really tell she was dressed casual was the fact she had her hair left loose with a few bobby pins holding back half of her bangs, and a scarf wrapped around her waist. Sitting on the bench next to her was her rather large backpack. Inside were, mostly, notebooks and school supplies. That was, afterall, part of the reason she was here. The other was to hang out with her friends.

Whenever they would happen to show up, she thought to herself. While she had managed to get everyone to come and study with her, she did have to give up something. In this case, she was going to go run around Shibuya and go shopping. Naturally, when one was in Shibuya, one had to dress the part. She had another set of clothes in her bag, as well as a small makeup case. Granted, she always kept her makeup on her, as she always looked very tired. Tatsuko never got much in the way of sleep, often relying on caffeine drinks to keep her awake.

She could feel herself starting to get drowsy just sitting here, and hoped that everyone would hurry up. They were supposed to meet at 1 o'clock at Tokyo Station, in the plaza. It wasn't quite 1 yet, though, as Tatsuko was used to being early. She would wait. It wasn't as though she really had any other plans today. As she waited, she pulled out her headphones, putting them on and clicking the MP3 player on. Soft koto music played for a few moments, before being drowned out by heavy beats and fast guitar strums. Quinta Talon was her favorite band, and one of her secret weaknesses. Being that there was no one around, that she knew atleast, she didn't see the harm in listening to a few songs as she waited.

J-MIN could be faintly heard from the Skullcandy headphones as a short teenager stood next to the doors in the train. Her blatantly casual attire, a red hoodie with hand-sewn black embroidery and personally modified olive green cargoes, as well as her bubblegum-pink hair, earned more than a few stares. Hibari fished her MP3 player out of her handmade messenger back to check the clock as the train eased into Tokyo Station. Yep, she was on time . . . for once. Humming along to the song, the waif-like teen skipped out the doors and onto the station platform.

She found her friends - or rather, friend, for there was only one present at the moment - almost immediately; she couldn't think of another young woman who who purposely wear school-uniform-type clothes and carry around a frickenormous backpack on weekends. Readjusting her own sizable schoolbag Hibari wove her way quickly through the bustling station to where the long-haired girl was.

"Tatsu-chaaaaaaaaaaan~!"

It hadn't been her idea to go study on the weekends. Most of the time she did all her studying and homework during the school days, and then spent her Sundays Shibuya-shopping or online with her role-playing buddies. But ever since she'd met Tatsuko, Sundays also included group study sessions. Not that Hibari minded too much.

Sakura took another drink of her coffee as she came down the stairs to meet the other girls at the station. They were going to be studying, and usually she didn't need too much help in academics, her friends were all getting together, and being the new girl in school, she didn't want to say no. The tight group had welcomed her, and she was glad. Kyoto, the place she grew up, seemed so much smaller then Tokyo, even if it was still a big city. Here, she seemed almost lost most of the time. Luckily she was a friendly sort, or she might still not have any friends.

She pulled on her black shirt, making sure it covered the top of her jeans, her red hair swinging in a ponytail as she descended the stairs. She had her bag full of books over one shoulder, and one ear bud still in her ear, the other tucked safely in the collar of her shirt, the white cord disappearing into her pocket were her pink iPod nano sat. She was listening to old Malice Mizer, when Gackt was still the lead singer, and she came around the corner to see Tatsuko and Hibari.

"Hey guys!" She called, waving and hurrying forward. She'd taken the bus, since it wasn't far from her home to begin with, but a train station was an easy place to meet.

Tatsuko had just gotten to the good part of her song when she heard Hibari shout her name. Pulling her headphones off, she gave a wave, a smile on her lips. She knew that Hibari wasn't the type to go studying all the time, which was part of the reason she was willing to give up her after studying time, which would normally be used for more studying for Tatsuko, to go run around Shibuya. Besides, despite how much she said she wasn't much of a shopper or fashionista, the rose haired girl did have a love of Lolita styles. She was always more comfortable in a skirt than pants, and the occasional dressing up made her feel very girly. "Hi Hibari!"

Just as soon as she had let that slip, she saw Sakura coming forward as well. "Hey Sakura!" She gave the girl a wave as well, scooting over on the bench so they could all sit. It looks like everyone was coming rather quickly, which was good. Mr. Yuuki had given her class a pretty hard essay to work on, and she needed to do some in depth studying for it. It was a Ancient Civilizations class, and they were currently on the Ancient China section. She knew that the National Library had some really good books, so she might just be able to find a good one on the subject.

Hibari turned at the sound of a familiar voice and noticed . . .

"Saku-chan~!" the girl beamed, waving at her shcoolmate who was - shockingly - shorter than she was.

As Tatsuko moved to accommodate her and Sakura, the pink-haired girl plopped down on the bench and began to waggle her fingers on her lap in time to her song while swinging her legs. Hibari usually didn't really like anything history-related in general; to her, history was just a pattern of stupid old farts making stupid decisions that led to wars and destruction. But ancient civilizations fascinated her. It was as if those times came from another world, or from a fairy tale, filled with heroes, dastardly villains, and epic adventures. And personally, she just liked the clothing.

"Mmm . . . Hari-chan doesn't like essays . . ." Hibari also had a strange habit of referring to herself in third person from time to time. "I wonder if they have any manga that have Ancient Chinese themes . . . ? Then Hari-chan can make cosplay for it~"

The red head sat down next to the other two and giggled a bit at Hibari's antics. She swung her feet a bit, "I'll bet there are, but I don't think that you can do your project on a manga. Anyway, I was most interested in that Beast God phenomenon that Mr. Yuuki was talking about last class. I'd like to see if we can find more on them. For some reason, I keep thinking about Byakko, and interesting all that cult stuff was..."

The petite girl blinked a few times as she heard Sakura's remark, then stuck the tip of her index finger into her mouth as she looked up in thought. She did remember Mr. Yuuki saying something about that . . .

"Oh! Ri-i-i-i-ight~" The expression on Hibari's face looked like one akin to an Eureka moment. "The one where there was a sacred maiden allegedly chosen by the god and seven people who represented the constellations within the god's 'corner of heaven', right?" The girl giggled and clapped her hands together once. "Yeah, Hari-chan liked that one too! Especially Suzaku! Hari-chan loves phoenixes, they're so purdy~"

Two boys stood next to each other, one had brown hair that came below his ears and the other was taller with short brown hair. They wore similar school uniforms and were chatting.

The one with the longer hair had sunglasses on his head, the top button of his uniform undone and his tie hung loose. He had a black yo-yo that he was fiddling with in his right hand and seemed to be well... failing with...

"What's up Takeo?" the taller boy asked, he was wearing his uniform properly, "not your day with the toy or what?" he gave a tilt of his head referring to the yo-yo.

"I didn't sleep very well yesterday man," Takeo took a deep breath, "been having some weird dreams lately is all..." he shove his hands yo-yo and all into his pockets, "don't worry about it Hi-chan, just tired today..." he smiled.

"You haven't been dreaming about Yumi in class four have you?" Hikari, the taller of the two gave a calm smirk.

"Heck no!" Takeo blushed slightly, frowning at his friend. "There was this weird creature... God... thingy... I don't know..."

"Too much manga, you otaku," Hikari sighed, "I swear you'd be a total punk without me..." Takeo snorted.

Sakura leaned out a bit, hearing the two boys in their group talking loudly not far from them. "Hikari and Takeo are here, I could hear them a mile away!" She snickered a bit, and looked to the other two girls. "Does that mean we're only waiting for Etsuko and Keiko? What could be taking them so long! We have a lot of work to do before we can go have some fun together!" She pulled her cell phone out, and looked at the time. They weren't quite late, but the red haired girl was always early, so she seemed to think everyone one that wasn't was late.

She glanced over to an older woman who was not too far from them, she was on the ground with a sheet in front of her, selling little cell charms it seemed, and she looked like she'd been having some hard times. Her father always told her to help people that were trying to help themselves, so she got up and walked over to the old woman, kneeling down on the other side and puling some money out. "Hmm, what to pick?"

The older lady smiled a bit and pointed to a pile, "I think you might like those, with the conversation you were having with your friends." She picked one up, they were little wooden cards that often were given out at Shrines, but they'd been made into cell straps. The braided straps themselves all looked alike, but the cards were different, each one had a different name for a star. She smiled and nodded, taking out the money she'd been saving for the Square-Enix store in Shibuya, and spent some of it to buy each of their friends a star name. So she couldn't get the Cloud figure she wanted, she would just have to get something smaller.

Sakura came back, waving the boys over too. "Look! Aren't these cute, and they sort of go along with what we're studying, and the woman looked like she needed the money." She pulled one out for Hibari, "This one is Hotohori, I got it got you since you like Suzaku, and this one is Suboshi Tatsuko, it seemed to fit you!" She handed them to each of the girls, then turned to the boys when they came up. "I got this one for Takeo," She handed him the star name Ookami, "and this one is for Hikari! I don't know why it fits you, but it does..." She handed him the symbol for Tamahome. "Now, if those other two would just get here..." She pulled her phone out and put her charm on, one that said Tatara. The other two she'd picked out where Hikitsu for Etsuko and Taishi for Keiko.

Takeo gave a little bow and thanked her, "thanks Sakura... Ookami, eh?" he smiled, holding up his hands and giving a little playful growl.

Hikari looked a little startled, "ah... thanks," he gave a little smile. ~Tamahome suits me, huh?~ he thought remembering bedtime stories of a hero of the same name that his mother told him as a child.

Sakura smiled happily at the boys, nodding a bit. "I think so, I mean, Mr. Yuuki is always talking about the old legends, and you seem to be a lot like Tamahome... I think Mr. Yuuki is a Tamahome fan." She giggled a bit, "I hope you boys like them!" She didn't want to say anything, but she'd had a little crush on Hikari since she'd come to Tokyo, and the heroic stories seemed to fit him...

Hibari's face lit up like a child's at Christmas as Sakura presented her with the cellphone charm. Hotohori . . . the "Star" . . . ? She grinned. 'Cuz my head's in the clouds . . . hehehe~

"Thanks a lot, Saku-chan~! It's purdy~" the little girl giggled. "She needed money . . . ? Etto . . ."

Reaching into her messenger bag, she pulled out her Lavi-themed wallet and checked her money. Truth be told, she was rather spoiled by her family; her parents gave her what would be considered a big allowance, and her brothers weren't shy in treating her either. And with her part-time . . . well, she was pretty much loaded, even with a third of what she actually kept (she usually slipped a good portion of the money her family gave her back into their wallets). She had some things she wanted to buy in Shibuya in mind, but if someone was in need . . . that, and she was a collection freak.

Going over to where the old lady sat, she looked at the prices and quickly calculated them. She wouldn't be able to buy everything she wanted, but with some hard work she'd be able to get them. And besides, where as those would be around for a while, these charms were like limited time collectibles.

Hibari skipped back over to the bench, humming happily as the seven new charms, displaying each of the constellations of Suzaku. With a happy squeal she tackled both boys into hugs.

"Yay~! Ta-kun and Hika-kun are here~! The more the merrier!" she giggled.

The pink haired girl was a bit embarrassed by her particular choice. She had heard about the Celestial Warriors as well, and she had always had a fascination with Seiryuu. He was the god of war, which while she didn't like that too much, she had thought that they must have been quite interesting. Besides, she did so love dragons. She had to, afterall, due to her name.

When Sakura quipped up with who they were waiting for, that Tatsuko didn't feel ashamed to answer. "Yeah. They should be here any time now." She hoped it wouldn't take them too long. She wanted to get to studying as soon as possible. She watched as Sakura moved over the stand, picking up the various charms and giving them to the group. She grinned at the one that her friend had picked out, holding it up so she could take a better look. "Suboshi. It's so pretty! Thank you, Sakura!" She leaned over, giving her friend a hug. As Takeo and Hikari showed up, she gave them both a wave. "Hi guys!" While she had to admit, both boys were quite handsome, she didn't think of them as anything like that. They were her friends.

Laughing a little as Sakura mentioned Mr. Yuuki constantly talking about Tamahome, she nodded. "No kidding. I wonder where he heard the story from, though. I'd love to get my hands on whatever book he read it out of. It sounds so interesting." She hoped that they would have it at the Library, but Mr. Yuuki never mentioned the name of it. Her attention was pulled away by Hibari and all of her cell phone charms, her own being tied onto her phone as she watched. While she did have a good amount of cash, Tatsuko couldn't see the need to buy so many of the charms. Though, it would help the woman making them... She decided that later, after they were done studying, if the woman was still there, she was going to do the same as Hibari. But, for now, she was content with her one of Suboshi.

The boys laughed at Hibari’s excitement. Hikari patted her on the head. Takeo gave a smug look, “definitely,” he replied to Hibari.

Hikari looked perplexed as the girls continued to talk about his father. It was true that both his parents had an odd interest in old Chinese myths particularly about the Gods of the cardinal directions. He raised a hand to the back of his neck, “I honestly think my dad just made them up… he might have read some books, but really some of the stuff was just too ridiculous if you think about it,” he shrugged.

“They were still entertaining enough,” Takeo told him, “its all good,” he put his hands in his pockets.
