Thump...thump....the sounds of heavy feet falling hard onto the bamboo floors covered with tatami mats. A rather large and gentle looking man walked up the halls of the academy wearing his white gi and powder blue over coat and hakama. Adorning his head was the symbol of his manhood. His hitai-ate proudly shown his status as a shinobi of the Gaioh ninja village, this a testament to his ability for he wouldn't have one with out them. He finally stopped at the right room that he was looking for and noticed the plaque on the wall next to room's entrance: Basic Combat Medicine. " Oh the nostalgia is suffocating me..hehe", he chuckled to himself and slid the door open and stepping in.
Stepping inside really brought back a lot of memories.......
Flashback
Sliding the door open a young Yama announced his presence to the class room with a "hello" and a slight bow to the classroom and teacher. " Oh please that is not necessary buddy", came a reply from his sensei from now on Sakon. Yama gave another quick nod as a sign of acknwledgment before walking to the back of the class to the only empty seat and sitting down. Just as he sat he felt a tap on his shoulder, " Hi I am Kinin", the man next to him would say and yama would take his hand in his own and give it a firm Shake.
End Flashback
Now a Chuunin of rank Yama strode across the room to the front and his new desk sitting down his folders and papers. " I will do you proud Sakon", Yama would whisper to himself as he took a seat and awaited the arrival of all his students.

Azran walked thought the halls of the school, the flaps of his dark blue overcoat bushing from side to side as he made his way towards the Basic Combat Medicine classroom.
He'd been doing a lot of thinking lately about brushing up on his medical skills... at least a little. Sure he knew some basic first aid which meant he wasn't a complete failure of the subject unlike some other gennin he knew, but basic first aid could only get you so far.
He had no intention of specializing himself as a med-nin specifically, but at the same time it wouldn't hurt to bring his healing level up a bit so that if one of his team mates was injured he'd be able to help them at least a little rather then standing by their side helplessly. After all, you never knew when that extra bit of attention, no matter how small could make the difference between life and death.
Besides, he could only really do one jutsu besides the basic stuff they taught at the academy. To some people the ability to charge things with electricity was a simple jutsu, hardly worthy of note. And in someways they where right because it was a fairly simple technique. But it was that self same simplicity that was also it's advantage since it could be used for many various applications.
"If I learn more about autonomy, perhaps I could use it to defibrillate someone in an emergency." thought Azran as one possible example as he arrived at the classroom doors. He would have preferred some other type of medical class, but this was the only one being offered at the momeent so it was better then nothing in his book.
Sliding the door aside Azran steeped into the room and was surprised to see that it was empty save for the teacher. "Well, well. Looks like I'm the first one to arrive at class for a change." he said with a rueful laugh. He'd always been a bit of an early bid. But lately someone had always seemed to beat him to any of the post academy classes he'd chosen to take.
Turing to the teacher, Azran was surprised to see just how large he was. Azran himself was fairly tall for his age, but this man almost seemed to dwarf him. Thought for a ninja, he had a surprising air of gentleness about him. "Must come from being a dedicated healer." Thought Azran as he offered the man a sharp military style salute using his left hand despite the metal claws he had attached to his fingers.
"Sensai, I Azran am reporting for class" He said smartly introducing himself. Relaxing his hand, he gave the teacher a slight nod of respect before taking a seat near the front of the classroom so that he would be in an optimal position to see the whiteboard. "I wonder who's going to show up next." He thought as he idly tapped the wood while waiting for class to start.

Westly has his head ducked in even before the door had closed. "How basic is basic? Ahem. I mean, hello, Yama! Long time no see!"

"Westly-san!" exclaimed Azran who was suprised to see his other teacher and with any luck perhaps future team leader show up. "I thought you already knew basic Medicine. Oh I get it, you're a guest teacher here to help with the lesson." said Azran nodding with apparent understanding even thought he was probably misinterpreting the situation.

The birds sang their song of joy outside and Yama could hear their melody as he went through the rows and got the seats set up for the next few classes of students. He stopped for a mere moment and listened to the endless serenade of the birds as a gust of wind came in through the open window and washed of his face and the rest of his body. After a few moments of gentle caressing from the elements he went back to his work setting up each persons desk. On each desk he placed one of the following items: A wrap of gauze, a small spray container of antiseptic, a scalpel, journal to write notes, and a pen.
As he just about finished doing his preparation for the class he heard the sliding door open up and turned to who was obviously his first student of the day. The student announced himself as Azran and gave the Chuunin a salute of respect before taking a seat at the front of the classroom. This one obviously wants to learn..that is good, he thought to himself as he finished and walked up to his desk. When he reached his desk he would, " Oh what a fun time we will have in here Arzan-san. Please call me Yama", he would rebuttal to the student on the subject of names. Yet again just as he finished with the formalities a familiar voice spoke up from the door and Yama looked over to see who it was.
" Basic is the basic...or that is what Sakon-sama always used to tell us huh Westly-san", he would reply turning to an old friend from training days with Sakon?

"Yes, Yama-sensai" replied Azran with a grin as he gazed over the implements that had been placed on the desk. He had used gauze before a few times back on the farm, and even antiseptic a couple of times once he'd joined the academy before, but he'd never seen a scalpel in person before.
It was a lot like a small knife and he guessed it was used for a similar purpose. Touching the tip of it to his finger he pricked it causing a small drop of blood to form. "Pretty sharp. This must be a precession tool." He muttered to himself. Taking off his clawshot and strapping it to his waist so that he coul have both hands free, he continued examining the medical tool.

Westly shook his head. "No, no... I never met Sakon, though I suppose I was actively trying to kill him. Purely political move to get in good with Forza, you know how it is, no hard feelings, right?" Westly said this with the same casual cheerfulness as he had when he first met Yama.
He remembered it like it was yesterday.... Westly had shown up in the hospital waiting room sweaty, tired, and carrying the unconscious body of a man he'd almost but not quite stabbed to death in the arena. And then insisted that his opponent merely, quote, "fell down some stairs. Onto a knife." A sort of unusually amicable cruelty... or maybe Westly was just always nice, even when he was mean. "I mean, I did almost kill you," he'd said to the unconscious man. "The least I could do is give you to a lift to the hospital."
Westly smiled. "No, Kitsu was the one who taught me medicine. Well, Kitsu and pulling shifts at the hospital as a nurse. They were dangerously understaffed for a bit, I'm a quick study with great chakra control... it was a nice partnership, and I picked up a few things on the go. I'm already about a Dounin, I suppose, but I don't actually have a medical rank. I was hoping I could catch up with my ninja rank in time to try testing for Jinin instead of Jounin." And there he was, back to being just plain friendly and altruistic.
