You've read the bible, you have your own understanding/translation of it, this is a place to come and discus your understanding/translation. Also don't forget to go help the Intermediate/Beginners' by stating facts and the like for them and discussing with them to give them a better understanding.

Ghosts. Where do they fit in in the spiritual realm? There are angels, and demons. We all know this is true. But there is something else out there, there has to be. Where would all the EVPs come from? Where would all the ghost pictures come from? Where would these "spirit guides" who talk to the psychics come from? Here's a theory:

1 King's 22:19-22
Micaiah continued, "Therefore hear the word of the LORD : I saw the LORD sitting on his throne with all the host of heaven standing around him on his right and on his left. And the LORD said, 'Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?' "One suggested this, and another that. Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD and said, 'I will entice him.' " 'By what means?' the LORD asked. " 'I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,' he said.
" 'You will succeed in enticing him,' said the LORD. 'Go and do it.'

They keywords here are, "A spirit came forward." Does this mean that there is something else that out there that is not blatantly good nor evil? If this is a lying spirit, then it should - by all means be considered evil, but the spirit that came forward was a part of the Heavenly host. Can anyone give some insight on this?

This is a very interesting passage you posted. Certainly, this isn't the first time I came across this passage. The lying spirit mentioned is not part of the Heavenly host, because what spirit in heaven (where no evil or sin exists) is a liar unless after doing so is thrown out of heaven just as Satan in his sin of pride was thrown out? We can only conclude that this spirit is of the devil. This is not talking about our mainstream idea of a ghost who haunts houses or take revenge on those whom they have a grudge on. These are evil spirits that obeyed the command of God.

The story of the lying spirit is an example of the sovereignty of God over Satan and sin. God ordered the lying spirit to enter the prophets of Ahab to bring him to defeat in battle, all as part of God's plan. There are other instances when God ordained sin and the work of Satan as part of His plan. Job's life was ruined by Satan under God's permission. As a result, Job questioned God's sovereignty. Most importantly, God allowed Satan to enter into Judas Iscariot in order for Judas to sell Jesus out. Colossians 1:16 says that all things are created by Him and for Him. All things, including Satan and his demons ("whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities,") were created for the glory of Christ!
