Okay so, I know this may sound silly, but where would one start the bible if this will be their first time reading it?
I my self have tired reading from the beginning of The Old Testament and from the beginning of The New Testament. How ever I have another Bible that suggest beginning with the book of John.
Either way, I just can't think of where an appropriate place to start in the bible would be.

So this weekend I talked to Rishon's mom and she pointed out a good place to start, the book of John and the Romans. So I guess that's where I'll start.

Rigormortis Metamorphosis So this weekend I talked to Rishon's mom and she pointed out a good place to start, the book of John and the Romans. So I guess that's where I'll start. Wherever you feel most comfortable biggrin i started at genesis since i have a thing about staring books from the absolute beginning XD although i like to kind of skip around from book to book.

There are many different places to start. You could get a daily bible and start there or just follow a certain plan online or ask a friend, realitive, bible school teacher, etc.

Or you could randomly pop it open and skim the sub headings and pick something that piques your interest. Or you could just pray for God to give you a verse and look it up and meditate on it...

Have you prayed for understanding? Pray for everything you do concerning the Bible.

....P and V?
And if you don't feel like praying, you can open up Isaiah or Psalms and play a little game I like to call, "Is that a prophecy?" and see how you could interpret the verses to see if it lines up with Jesus.

I think one ought to start at Romans. It digs in to the most basic of Christian doctrine. There is no book in the New Testament that teaches Christian life better than Romans.

The best thing to do is say a prayer and ask the Lord where He wants to lead you. God will place the right spot in your heart and it will lead your hands to the right spot to read. I have done this so much in the last 5 years of my life. I have had so many problems and this has held me stay stronger that just what people have had to say to me.
