Buying expensive flashy cat toys can be nice to you but what does your cat think. I myself owning a cat find that she has more fun with random things around the house then a 5 dollar mouse.
So here are some homemade toys to try for your cat. heart

Paper Toys The Paper Ball Just a plain sheet of computer paper. Roll it all up nice and tight. Make sure that it is big enough so that it can't be swallowed and no sharp edges. There your done. many cats may prefer this over a normal round ball you can buy becuase it tends to make a skittery noise when rolled.
The paper Bag You heard me! A plain normal paper bag. Just toss it on the floor and see if your cat likes it. It makes a noise when ripped and pounced. Plus some kittys like to sleep in them if they are big enough. So make sure you check for kitty inside before you pick it up or go to give it a lil kick or anything.
Cardboard Box Take a big box and lay the open side face down on the floor. Cut holes in the box so kitty can get in and out. Sometimes placing treats or toys inside can get kitty more interested.

String Toys A string Drives cats wild when they can't have it! I think the best string to use is some yarn. Cut it about 3 feet or so. You can always tie something ot the end of it. Wooden spoon a old small plushie toy (nothing fancy with bows and plastic eyes. Just a plain rag doll like thing if you can find it.) If your cat seem interested. Walk or run a lil around the house with it dragging behind you. It will be good exercise for both of you. NOTE: Never..EVER. Use nylon or ribbion as the string. Both can be harmful to kitties belly or even cut up the soft tissues in the cats body!

Cat n** Toys Cat n** Sock Take a old sock and cut off most of it just below the heel should be fine. Even better if you can find it. A Bady sock. Buy a lil baggie of cat n**. You can find it almost anywhere. Fill the sock up with the nippie stuff and sew it over. Your done! A basic cat n** toy.
