Why do straight people hate us? we did nothing to them... we want to live a normal lifestyle. We have rights... But yet... everyone hates us... Comedians think were a load of sh*t and our local churches think were a work of satan, our government doesn't want us wedded and our parents probably make fun of them behind your back...
Were people and that all that matters... I use to be straight... but I never did anything bad to them... I never did any of that stuff on top... I supported LGBT marriage... I knew they were people... But now Im bi and in love with the best bf ever... and no one can take away my pride...

When people don't understand something, their first instinct is to fear or hate it. That's how it is with the gay community. People have thought of it as different from how they are and certain religions and societies have taught people hate rather than tolerance and acceptace. People just don't believe that love is love anymore. Whatever happened to peace and love, man? ;___;

Humans are essentially a curious race that pursues knowledge above all other goals. When a human sees something they don't understand, it is only instinct to reject it.
We just have to go on and be understanding ourselves. They can't be expected to understand, because we ourselves don't fully understand it.
We just have to accept their opinions, share our own, and move on never to think on it again. Otherwise, how would we survive?

We just have to accept their opinions, share our own, and move on never to think on it again. Otherwise, how would we survive? I have to agree here. As unfair as it is, we are the ones who have to be understanding and bear the brunt of their frustrations with us simply because they don't understand. Sadly, I come from an extremely anti-gay family, and I actually used to be like them. If they're all reacting the way they do for the same reasons I was so against gays, then it's really a pointless, viscous cycle; they act that way because it's what they were taught.
And it's not something that can be reversed over night, either. When you've had it drilled that deeply into you that something is wrong, you really have to struggle to overcome it and accept it. It becomes an ingrained part of you, something you struggle over and battle with because you were always told that, "it's wrong".

People look down on anything they can't or won't understand. It makes people feel better to say "Well I may have a sucky life but at least I'm not gay." If that's all that gets you through the day is putting down other people, we've got some problems. It was the same way with the feminist movements and the civil rights movement. People are also scared of us. We've been treated like crap for a long time, what would happen if we arose as a group and voted in politicians that favored gay rights? We have a right to be mad at how we've been treated, so they're scared. So they make up stuff to keep us inferior to them like being gay is a sin, gay marriage will destroy the institution of marriage, and gay people working in schools want to recruit children.
