Ven walks through the tundra, looking at the ground, looking at the black goo, and as he walks he seems to absorb it, after a while, he sees an oppurtunity to hide, he finds a good spot, mumbles some words, and his massive sword appears, he climbs up a tree and waits for anything to happen

Voro shimmers next to Ven. "Hiding from someone?" His voice was a low whisper in Ven's ear.

"Just wondering what happened here, and why our people's blood is spilled here" Ven says, looking down at the snow, where the black goo had managed to crawl up the tree's trunk and onto Ven, which was absorbed through his skin

"Ah yes. I had sent a contigent of demons a known Human settlement. The Humans were onto something pretty nasty and I thought it prudent to stop them. It worked out pretty well. The surviving Demons were sent back to their respective areas."

Voro jumped from the tree to hover about five inches off the ground. "No. but i am sure the demons i sent here didn't team with the zombies. if so i am going to simply not be happy. I gave orders to kill anything not demon."

"Weird" Ven says then drives his sword through the branch of the tree he was crouching on, jumps once, then falls to the ground with the limb managing to keep his same position, he then stands up, halfway amazed at himself that that actually worked

He looked around and felt satisfied. whether they teamed up or not the objective had been completed. He was free now to get the item he knew the humans would eventually find.

"I dont have time for this. Ven You have command here." He opened a portal as demons began to pour out, legions of them. All waiting to attack on Ven's command. Voro evaporated into nothing and traveled to the settlement a few miles north of their location.
