I was able to successfully download the town Riverview and that one European car that you get when purchasing The Collectors Edition but I can't download anything else from the Store. Every time I try it always says "There was an error Downloading Content"
Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix the problem?

I just bought the game today and it won't let me download from the Sims Store at all, and we got a thing for ten free dollars too. mad Wish I knew what was going on with that too.

I don't see what the problem could be... I guess I waited a week or so before I downloaded anything... Did you:
1. Register your game
2. Make an account on the Sims 3 shop
if you didn't do one of these there is your problem.

Yeah, I registered and made the account. I got the free $10 worth of points and it even let me spend some. It says on the account what items I have purchased and allows me to redownload them but every time I do they still don't work.

Did it send you to a downloads page,that lets you install the items you've downloaded?

 This is right after I try downloading something. When I hold the cursor over the circle thingy it says There was an error Downloading Content aftopshirttee_crewstore It does the same thing for any item I bought from the store.

well that's strange, the 1KB in size indicate the downloaded was incomplete from the website to the game launcher, I bet you have delete the failed content and re-downloaded that item from the website right? Has it always been 1kb in size when it says unsuccessful at the launcher?

Was it an item you bought? or a free exchange item which comes in different styles for a certain item? eek

At last ! I finally found out what the problem was!
I just needed to download the updates. It never occurred to me to do so but when I tried installing World Adventures (which I finally got got around to buying) it did so automatically.

It's always a wise idea to keep your game up to date with the most recent patches if you downoad from the store. Some content requires certain game versions to function.
It should say so on the item page.
