Koku Village: This paradise nestled on the summit of Mount Koku is only a half a days walk from Tooran. If relaxation, spiritual and physical healing is what you need, then this is the place. Pilgrims come to pay veneration to Genbu at the Holy Cave, and to a lesser extend, Suzaku's Tree, said to have grown from the grave of a fallen Warrior.

Zhang ran a hand through his white hair nervously as he stood near the bath houses in Koku Village. There was one fount that he needed to visit, the healing properties were needed for his mother, who was falling ill. She kept saying she was fine, and the small farm they had right outside Tooran was doing alright, but at this point he didn't know how long she'd be around, and he had a little sister to think about. He was just going to go straight for the shrine, but something pulled him toward the Genbu Shrine. Not because he really wanted to be connected to the Priestess like he was, but he was born a warrior, and there wasn't much the young man could do. He was long over due to take a wife and have a family already, but he just couldn't bring them into his dilemma. If the priestess came, then who would look over his mother and sister? If he had a family of his own, then what would happen to them?
He sighed and his aqua eyes fell upon the great cherry tree that grew on the edge of the cliff, and he leaned down, plucking one of the small, blood red crystals from the dirt. They were said to have protective powers, so he'd get one for his mother as well. Anything could help, and he wasn't going to fail her. He only wished the Run wasn't several weeks off, or he could get her one of the fruit. It was said that a fallen warrior was buried right there, and the tree was his way of protecting the people of the world. He reached up and touched the chiseled name in the wood, it had been there a long time, because the tree's bark had been stretching and growing, and the epitaph was much larger, and sort of skewed. "Nuriko, of the Suzaku Seven... there are stories of you, even in our land... I wish was was as strong as you."
The mark on his arm started glowing at the small prayer, and he immediately covered his mark with his hand, not sure if the small message was the cause, or something else. A nearby woman gasped, and Zheng looked up, the tree was blooming, right there before their very eyes, and the branch right next to Hikitsu's head bore a plump, ripe cherry. His mark flared again, and the same woman called out to him, seeing he was a warrior of Genbu, so he grabbed his cherry, thanked Nuriko, and took off, heading toward the Temple. "The priestess is coming," he murmured, not sure how he knew... but he did...

The feelings of vertigo seemed to slowly be disappearing, though her stomach was still churning. A hand moved to her forehead as she began to gently rub it. She curled up on the floor, thinking that she was still back in the library. But it felt cooler, not quite the same. More so, it just felt wrong. One of her hands went to the ground, gently patting it. It felt rough, hard. Not like the wood and carpet of the library. Eyes opened slowly, glancing around. This was definitely not the library.
Etsuko stood up, arms folded across her waist. Her legs brushed together as she tried to figure out where exactly she was. As she looked around, she seemed to make out that she was in some sort of a village. “Ooooh. Where am I?” She mumbled softly, her hand moving back to her forehead once more, wondering if she had hit her head. “Ugh. I wonder where everyone is? How did I get here, anywhere? Maybe this is just some kind of weird dream or something, though I'm pretty sure I was just awake in the library when I saw that turtle-snake thing,” she muttered, shaking her head.
As she looked around, Etsuko caught sight of what looked like it might be a shrine. At least, it seemed to be treated as such. If she had to guess, she was around some sort of mountain. It definitely was not a city, though.
“Ooooh, where am I supposed to go? I wonder...”
Etsuko pulled out her cell phone, wondering if she got any service. She raised it up, looking at the screen. Her nose wrinkled as she saw that she had no service. “So much for that. It's like I got shot to the middle of no where or something. How am I supposed to get back home?” She whimpered, placing the phone back into the bag where it had come from.

Just as poor Zhang thought he was getting away from destiny, it sort of just popped right into his face. The silver haired boy nearly ran into a girl in strange clothes, almost at the same time he'd muttered about the priestess coming. He slid to a stop, blinking at her, his strange eyes the color of an old glacier. "Sorry!" He said quickly, though when he move his arms to make sure he didn't knock her over, his sleeve slipped down, revealing the symbol on his forearm.
He frowned a bit, reaching over to itch at it, to stop the burning, then he glanced into her face. She seemed lost... and scared... and reminded him of a time his sister had gotten lost on this very mountain, after dark, and when he'd finally found her, she'd had a look very much like this girl. Sure, her clothes were weird, that didn't really mean anything... right?
"Sorry about that," he said softly, scratching the back of his head. "Didn't mean to almost run into ya, name's Zhang, but most people around her call me Hikitsu. I like Zhang better though. Can I help you find your way?"

Yuki had been trailing the young boy from Tooran, not because he wanted to steal from the pauper, but because of the weird sensations he got from the boy. His forehead was covered by the black bandana that covered his hair, and the scarred thief stuck to the shadows. He used his power often, to stay out of sight, so he was sure the boy didn'tknow he had someone on this tail.
Nothing had really seemed out og the ordinary, not until the tree seemed tobloom just for the boy, and this made Tomite quite interested. He followed him as he nearly ran into a strange girl, and his mark flared, almost painfully. He did't reveal himself though, he'd wait to see what happened.

Etsuko blinked as she felt someone literally run into her- and catching her at the same time. She let out a deep breath, still somewhat dazed by all of that is going on. She gazed up to him, looking a little nervous.
“Oh. Uh. Thanks a lot, Zhang. I'm Etsuko,” she said softly. She then glanced around, peering over her shoulder. “So, um. Yeah. I could definitely use some help here, you know? I was just at the national library with my friends, and... well, yeah. I'm here now. It was so weird how I got here! I don't really know what was going on! There was this turtle-snake thing that was calling me to follow it, and it lead to a book. Yeah, it was just really weird, you know? Though, I wonder...”
As Etsuko's voice trailed off, her dark orbs drifted upward to the sky as she pondered over what to do. Could she really be just dreaming? Was she still at home in her safe, warm bed? Well, the only way to find out was to see if she could wake up! One hand lifted, moving toward the other arm, quickly pinching herself. She squeaked, jumping up and back in the shock she felt from the sting of the pinch. “Gah! I guess I am awake. How the heck did I get here?! I mean, is this one of those historical village places? Are you one of those actor people like someone from history?”
As she jumped back, she felt someone else walk into her. She trembled a little, shocked that someone else would walk into her like that. “Oh goodness, I'm so sorry I didn't see you coming! I really need to watch where I stand around here, I think,” she squeaked apologetically.

Zhang raised an eyebrow, watching the young woman start to freak out, and he should his head a bit, putting a hand out to try and stop her from babbling for a moment. "This is Koku Village, we don't have historical plays until the festival in a few weeks, then we recreate the plight of the first Genbu Warriors, and also the triumph... and death of one of the Suzaku, both events are very important to the beginnings of this holy town... I don't even live here, I live in Tooran, and I know that. It seems you're lost, maybe I should take you to the monks in the shrine?" His symbol was burning something awful, but he couldn't risk being associated with the priestess right now... his mother...

Yuki listened to what they were saying, and frowned a bvit. It seeme that things were about to get complicated. He let otu a little sigh, but he didn't want to let them know he was there yet. Mybe he'd just stya in the shadows and protect her that way, then he wouldn't have to give up his day job.

Etsuko gave a small nod, and then looked back to Zhang. Koku village. Well, that was definitely not the National Library. She peered around, wondering how the turtle-snake thing managed to get her from there to here. It all seemed rather weird, and well, rather frightening.
She tilted her head a little, pondering over the offer of seeing monks. Well, if he didn’t know where she could go, then maybe they would. It was worth a shot anyways, right? She gave a wide smile, nodding enthusiastically to that option. “Oh, sure! I bet monks could really help with this! I think, anyways. Maybe they could give me directions on how to get back to the library or something,” she said, hoping that it would be the truth. “But yeah, thanks a bunch! I think that would probably be a lot of help!”
