The house of Taka and Miaka Sukunami, the home is rather plain looking. There are a few pieces of Ancient Chinese design as the pair are quite fond of that particular time period. It has a rather cozy feel to it. While it may not be the largest of places, having enough room for Taka, Miaka and Hikari, it makes up for it in atmosphere. Just stepping into the place gives a person a very warm feeling.

Standing in the kitchen, looking at the pot that was sitting on the burner, the woman couldn't help but groan a little. While she knew a watched pot wouldn't boil, she was hoping the extra heat would help it do so. Miaka Sukunami, once Miaka Yuuki, was trying out a new recipe. Several years of practice had helped her cooking skills increase dramatically, though she still had her very off days. She was hoping today wasn't one of them. Though, to be fair, today had been an off day in general. She just couldn't place her finger on it, but something was wrong. It wasn't anything particularly special about today, atleast, not that she could remember. Taka and her anniversary wasn't for a few months, and Hikari's birthday wasn't for a little while either. Even the anniversary of her going into the book... that caused her to pause. She hadn't thought about the book in quite a long time. Now that she thought about it, today was the same day she had first gone into the book with Yui.

Is that why I feel off today? Nostalgia? She sighed, letting her eyes drift over to a small scroll on the wall. It was a star chart of the Southern Sky, showing each of the Suzaku Constellations. She knew her friends were long gone, but she wondered if they were ever reborn into her world like Taka had been. She hoped they had, and that she just hadn't found them yet. There were times when she would think 'Oh, Nuriko would like this,' or 'I wonder what Chiriko would say about that' or 'I wish Tasuki and Chichiri were here, they could fix it.' She missed her friends more than she would like to admit, but she knew they were probably in a better place. After she had summoned Suzaku, and after Mayo had done the same, things should be fine in Konan. She shook her head softly. Miaka knew she shouldn't dwell on it, though she reminded herself she would need to make something special tonight. As she turned back, she noticed her pot had started to boil. "Finally! Now, what did I need to add? Where did that recipe go?"

With a small sigh, Taka Sukunami opened the door to his home, slipping his shoes off at the door before stepping up and sliding the inside door open. "I'm back," he said, hearing Miaka shuffling around in the kitchen. He smiled a bit and walked through the living room, stopping for a moment and looking down at the small, framed picture on the side board. He picked it up, and looked at it sadly for a few moments, before putting it back down. That was another life, but he still felt connected to those people. In the book world, Chichiri and Tasuki were probably even gone... in fact he sort of knew in his heart that was the case.

He put the picture down and headed into the kitchen, seeing his wife's back. He walked up and put his arms around her waist, kissing the side of her neck.

The ex Priestess had just managed to find the recipe that she had misplaced, which had been sitting next to the toaster, when her husband came home. Hearing his voice brought a smile to her face. With all of the nostalgia going through her mind, her thoughts drifted to how they met. He had been there to save her so many times. It was only because of Suzaku that Tamahome had been allowed to be reborn, something that hadn't happened before. She counted herself as lucky. "Welcome home, Taka!" she called, happily, before turning back to her soup. It was a cream based soup, and she had to keep a good eye on it otherwise it would turn.

She could make him coming into the kitchen out of the corner of her eye, though didn't mind him putting his arms around her. Grinning, Miaka turned in his arms, wrapping her own around his neck and leaning up for a kiss. After a moment, she pulled away from his lips, the smile still on her lips. "How was your day?"

Taka gladly kissed his wife when she turned in his arms, a smile on his lips as well. He leaned his head down so their foreheads were touching, adoration on his face. "It was fine, this years team is going to be good I think... Hikari might be a bit late, he said he was going to the library with a bunch of friends. It seems your brother gave them a report on Ancient China." He chuckled a bit, before his face got a bit serious.

"Have you been thinking about them... the others I mean. I can't get them out of my head today, and more then once I found myself rubbing my forehead... were the mark used to be. Sometimes, I think about everyone, but this hasn't happened... in years."

A man stepped out of his limousine in front of the cute apartment complex, his dark hair almost shown purple as the sunlight hit it, his lavender eyes were covered by expensive shades, his black suit was an import, and more then likely Versace. He glanced to the man that got out behind him, a small, round person that was actually the same age as the rich man, but looked much older then he did. The purple eyed man lifted his glasses and looked down, "You sure?"

"Yes sir, Yagami-sama... this is the place. Miaka and Taka Sukunami. They match your specifications perfectly."

The man nodded, motioning for his entourage to wait behind, and he started up the steps to the second floor. He pulled the glasses off, and fixed his hair in a nearby window, before moving to the correct apartment and knocking.

Giggling a little, Miaka nodded. "Aren't they always? You're a good coach," she said with a smile, enjoying the closeness with her husband. Upon hearing that Hikari might be late, she couldn't help herself but to giggle again. "He would. That's just the way Keisuke is. Ever since then, he's been obsessed with Ancient China. I'm glad Hikari is getting some studying done though." She didn't mind her son's friends. They were quite a nice bunch of kids. He hung out with quite a few girls, but she supposed he just liked being one of the only males amongst them.

Hearing that she wasn't the only one with thoughts on the world of the book was actually a bit of a relief. "I have too. I just can't get them out of my head. I figured out why. Today is the anniversary of when Yui and I first went into the book." She sighed, softly, thinking about it. It hurt, thinking that her friends were gone. "We should do something special tonight," she said, trying to brighten up her husband's mood. If Hikari was going to be late anyways, they might as well. Of course, just as she was about to suggest something, she heard a knock on the door. Why did people always have to come pester her right when she was in the middle of something. She shrugged it off, giving her husband a quick kiss. "You relax, and I'll see who's at the door." With that, she pulled herself out of his arms, heading towards the door.

"Hello, Sukunami reside..." her voice trailed off as she got a good look at the man at the door. She wasn't expecting who she saw there. This... is this really...? The timing was just too perfect. She had wished that her friends had been reincarnated, but she hadn't expected to run into them right away. Was Suzaku playing a joke on her? She didn't know. But what she did know was that this was... "Nuriko..." she barely whispered. Despite every urge to resist it, Miaka found herself moving towards the man in front of her, embracing him. "Is it really you?"

The dark haired man smiled, and his armed circled her shoulders gently. "Miaka," he said softly, though his voice even sounded the same, "I've been looking for you for so long... I'm Akio now, but yes... I am the one who was Nuriko." He let out a little giggle, and pushed her out at arms length. "I'm sorry it took so long. But you had to know I'd never forget such a silly girl as you..."

He grabbed her again, just standing there awhile, holding her like he'd wanted to do for so long, and even if she was an older woman, she felt just the same. "So, where's Taka? He's still around, right? He promised me he'd make you happy, he kept his promise?"

Taka was about to go in and change clothes when he heard the feminine voice coming from the hall. He went straight for the door and looked out, seeing Nuriko and Miaka hugging. Not a single jealous feeling came to the man, only happiness to see their old friend again. He'd been reincarnated, just like Taka had... it was obvious. Picture of Nuriko went through his head, of his death, and the funeral... he couldn't believe it.

When Akio asked his question, Taka came up and hugged them both, "I kept my promise, now you can keep your's... right? You'll stay, and watch over both of us... at least now, you're dressed as a man... from the very beginning." He chuckled a bit, trying to keep his emotions in check.

The older woman had a few tears slipping down her cheeks, which she quickly brushed away. She remembered all too well how her dear friend had perished. It hurt so much, seeing Nuriko so lifeless. She refused to believe it for the longest time. But now, here he was right in front of her. She chuckled a little bit, a huge grin on her face. "I didn't know if you had gotten reborn. I had always hoped though." She returned the hug, happy to be with her friend again. As Taka came up and joined in the embrace, Miaka couldn't help but feel very content. "Taka's been taking good care of me. We're very happy."

It was strange, not to call him Nuriko, but Miaka supposed she would have to get used to it. And, it would probably be better to reminice if they weren't standing in the middle of the doorway. "Come in, have a seat. I was just finishing up supper. Would you like to join us?" She paused for a moment, a playful grin on her lips. "And before you say it, I've gotten better at cooking since the last time you had my food." She wished Hikari was here right now. She wanted to introduce Nuriko to him.

Akio felt... complete for the first time in a long time. He smiled and nodded, "of course I'll stay, besides you've had more time to practice, and you love food so much, it's only natural. Besides, now that I found you, I don't want to give you up so easily." He winked at her, acting a lot like sassy, girl Nuriko, but in the more manly voice he used right before his death. He slapped Taka on the back, but luckily for him, he didn't have his Suzaku imbued strength, so he didn't end up falling over.

Akio followed the two in and looked around their cozy house. "Ah, it's just like I always imagined. Do you two have any kids? I would think so, with how crazy in love you two always where." He sighed and the picture Taka had been looking at earlier came into his vision, and he went right to it, picking it up. "Ah, you still have the picture... mine... well obviously I don't have it, I'm glad that yours made it out. The little boy in me is all a flutter, seeing those faces again." He reached up and wiped his eyes dry, "I don't know what's come over me..."

Taka was relieved to hear that Akio would be staying, to be honest, out of all the other warriors, Tamahome had really been closest to Nuriko and Chichiri, and when he'd died, not only had be lost a comrade, but a very close friend, and someone he could trust unconditionally with Miaka's safety. The others were extremely close, and always would protect her, and even though he knew that Nuriko had fallen in love with Miaka, he was the only one that didn't try to steal her away, and could really protect her well. His Highness was a great man, of course, but his love for Miaka always blinded him... Chichiri was very isoteric, and would pop in and out, even though he did protect the Priestess with all his worth. Tasuki... well Tasuki was Tasuki... that was it. Mitsukake was a healer, and Chiriko was a child, and while he never questioned them, if a Seiryuu warrior had come after her when she was alone with them... then bad things would have happened.

He watched as Akio went over to the picture and gazed upon his lost friends again, after so long, and Tamahome within him understood. He walked up behind the Willow and placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll get a copy made for you, since this is the only copy left..."

Slipping into the kitchen, Miaka went over to the soup, giving it a quick stir. It had come together just perfectly. It was a nice thick soup, and since she had a good amount of bread, it should be just wonderful. She had originally thought of making something else to go with it, but she wanted to spend more time with Nuriko... sorry, Akio while she had the chance. As she began to scoop it into a large bowl to carry it out in, she sighed. It took her a long time to get over what had happened to Nuriko. For a while there, she hadn't even noticed his feelings for her. She was so used to him being in love with Hotohori that when that affection transfered, she didn't realize it. There was some feeling for Nuriko, but not in the way he would have wanted. She thought of him almost like an older sister. He was always there when she needed him, with a smile or a shoulder to cry on. After all of the snippy catfights in the beginning, they finally understood each other. Sure, he still teased her, but it wasn't malicious. It was just the way he was.

After a moment, she paused, and picked up her cellphone. She was going to leave a message for Hikari. Miaka wanted him to come home as soon as he was done with his friends, atleast for a little while. She wanted him to meet Nuriko. The boy had grown up on the stories of their adventures, so she was certain he would think of him as the person Nuriko was "based on." If she actually knew what was going on, she might have thought of things a little differently. She jotted down a quick text for him, as that was how she usually communicated for little things like this, and sent it on it's way before going back to supper. It didn't take her long to finish spooning everything in, and carefully carrying it to the table. She saw Akio looking at the old picture, and nodded. "I still have the film roll it was on. You'll have another copy again." She smiled, pointing to another picture on the wall, the one of Tasuki and Nuriko just before the group picture. "I have all of the old pictures. We can get them all remade."

She stepped into the kitchen, to grab the bread and bowls, and then she was finished. "To answer your question, yes. We have a son, Hikari. Though, I believe you have already met him... well, in a way atleast. Remember Mayo?" Taka had told her all about what had happened so many years ago. Mayo had taken her child into the Universe of the Four Gods. It wasn't a bad thing, since the world had been in trouble again. "The belly bulge she had was him, the little shinzaho."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 26, 2009 11:13 am

Akio nodded, "my memories of that are a bit foggy... I don't think I was 'awake' for most of that. I want to meet him soon, I'll bet he not only is a money grubber, but also a glutton, if his parents are any indication." He laughed a bit, placing his hand over his mouth demurely. "I wonder if anyone else ended up being reincarnated here, like me and Tama-kins here... I sure would like to see his Majesty again... even if I did give up chasing boys, he was so dreamy... even if he was older now, I'll bet he's just as pretty... he's probably a model somewhere, knowing him." He giggled again, then let out a little sigh, "have you two been having a strange feeling... like someone is calling you, but you can't quite make out what they are saying? If I didn't know better, I'd swear something was happening with the book..."

Taka frowned a bit, of course Nuriko would still be fixated on Hotohori... even when he'd been reincarnated in the book, she'd managed to find the dead Emperor and attach to him... Now he was a boy again, but in a world that didn't believe in Suzaku.

The gym teacher rubbed his face at the question, and he wasn't going to bring it up with Miaka, since it would just worry her, but he nodded, looking from Akio to his wife. "Yeah, I've felt it too, all day. Maybe we should go to the Library... I've had a bad feeling all day..."
