If you're new here, and have no idea what to do, below is what you should do to get started...
1) Create a character profile. You should copy the character skeleton, paste it after clicking "New Topic," and fill it out with your OC's stats. After that, wait until I approve it, and then you can start RPing!
Those who are just here to discuss the game and not RP, make a profile that basically you want to do just that. Since you'll not be roleplaying, you wouldn't need to wait for my approval for this kind of member.
2) After you've completed your profile (whether it be OC or just a discusser), go out there and POST!!!
The Profiles subforum is where you post your character profile. NOTE: Do not post it on the "Character Skeleton" topic. Just copy the Character Skeleton, go back and click "New Topic," then copy the character skeleton and fill it out with 's Character as the title.
The Cities and Areas subforum contains RP areas like Damascus, Jerusalem, the Assassins Headquarters, and other areas.
The Mod Area is for Mod Discussion (Crew Members and up) only on how to make the Guild better. Mods, check here often to see if anything comes up. Nobody else needs to go there ("Nobody else" meaning those who are Crew level and under).
The Game Discussions subforum is for those who want to talk about the game. Just click "New Topic" and post your topic about the game to duscuss it with others.
This guild is just starting, but funds are high so we'll be having progress soon enough.

3) If you are looking for a good place to start off, look in the Missions and Assignments subforum. This where you can request a mission from Al Mualim and get an objective to follow from the start.
Note: Don't forget to introduce yourself to others in the Guild, and even if you are an assassin don't be afraid to interact with guards, nobles, or other PCs as well!

4) Don't be afraid to do one of the many forms of RPing, Passive RPing.
This can be used, when you don't have a mission, to make your character learn new skills (unless its in AC2 and you're learning to swim. Then you need a crew-NPC or another player with the ability to swim to teach you.).
You can learn to do things such ride horses at a more skilled rate, smith a weapon (in the time periods that fit the game :p), or even teach yourself how to combine tactics, such as learn to block with a dagger while striking with a sword (if you already knew, you could better your tactics.)
These are only a few things you could try in passive RPs. While in a passive RP, you could always build friendships or change your character's overall likes (such as a guard that hates thieves could eventually learn to befriend thieves to get recent news.) Anyone can do it, so why not give it a try?
