For clarification purposes: A "dragonhealer" is a Journeyman Beastcrafter OR a Journeyman Healer who has chosen to specialize in dragon healing, which is a Beast/Healer cross-craft. They can come from either background, but they must be of Journeyman level before they can begin explicitly studying dragons (or their close cousins, whers and firelizards). They would be trained under a Sr. Journeyman or a Master Beastcrafter/Healer who has also specialized in dragonhealing. For simplification purposes, they are referred to as Journeyman/Master Dragonhealers regardless of where they started their studies.
The demand for dragonhealing has reached an extreme in High Reaches and Telgar after the plague. Though all Weyrs have taken the health of their dragons seriously, they must go above and beyond that when each and every egg is vital to their own survival should the thread return. They take in as many dragonhealers as they can find, as well as any number of youngsters who show interest and talent in the art and hand them over as apprentices to the more experienced. This way, there will hopefully be an ideal healer for each and every dragon, no matter their personality.
They will also attempt to lure away renowned healers from other Weyrs with promises of a very glamorous lifestyle, gifts and favors. Although they stand by their word, healers can expect to work harder than any other Weyr in exchange.
Newborn dragons are to be examined immediately after the hatching feast and again once a week (or more should their rider choose) until adulthood. Any dragon or rider showing signs of the plague are to be reported to the highest authority immediately. No exceptions.
It is expected that a healer will be respectful of a dragons personality and if they are not the ideal handler for them, it will be their job to find someone who is. They are also expected to familiarize themselves with the other healers for this reason, keep extensive records on each patient and will even attend meetings every two weeks.
Final Notes: Because it's just not practical to assume every weekly check up / biweekly meeting can be RPed, players are to assume some actions OOC. You may not RP your healer examining their assigned dragon every week, but it should be assumed that they have IC.

This post contains a list of dragons and their assigned healers. Newborn dragons will be examined by whomever is available, since there simply isn't enough time to match them so early on.
However, by their next checkup, dragons are assigned a specific healer their rider feels is best suited to them. Riders are expected to take this very seriously, and healers are expected to be patient throughout the tedious process of being interviewed and matched to a dragon.
Rider's may choose to pick a friend of theirs, or someone they trust on a personal level. They may also dismiss their healer at any given time as long as they have a replacement waiting in the wing.
OOC Note: We understand some people just don't like each other OOC, or maybe just don't want to RP with each other. If you have an issue with your dragon-to-healer assignment OOC, please contact us and we will do the best to resolve the issue. If there are no healers that 'match' a dragon, they will be given an NPC healer until a player character healer applicable to that dragon arrives.
Final Note: Because it's just not practical to assume every interview with every rider can be RPed, players are to assume some actions OOC.
