Midus Sonners
Vice Captain

PostPosted: Sun Sep 27, 2009 8:44 am

A broadcast currently shines onto the TVs across the stadium, hotel, and other areas of the GTB. Upon it was Midus Sonners, sitting there at his desk, facing the camera with his hands clasped before him. Sitting there in all his glory of golden hair and that flawless white suit of his, he gave off that stature of a leader as he spoke to the people with his strong voice.

"We are now five rounds into the tournament and are already down to our remaining ten fighters. After a series of brawls of both men and women risking their lives to prove their prowess, we are drawing closer to the conclusion and thus to the crowning of a new champion. But first, let us look at the fights that will be happening for the coming round."

Damon Xylander

vs.

Pip

"Both fighters are a new entry into the GTB and have both proved that even the unknown can be the known with just a few bouts. While Damon brings along the fierceness that you would expect from any psionic, it was not enough to help him take down last GTB's champion, Deitric. As a result, he has taken his first loss. Hopefully, he takes heed of his mistakes from that round and learn from them if he ever wants to make it to the finals. The same can be said of Pip, a young boy who brings along his own array of powers and a single baton. Though an enigmatic case, he hides a competitive spirit underneath that face of his, and has shown that even someone as basic as him could get far in this tournament with the right skills and wits. Of course, his loss against Link has brought him his own first lost, which has resulted in this fight guaranteeing that one of the tournament's psychic stars will be walking home. May the best man win."

Link

vs.

Tenkai Matsumoto

"I do not know about you, but this match will be a prime example of East versus West. Link, a silent boy who brings along only a sword and a shield, has proven once more to the life of battle that as long as you have a balance of offense and defense, you can hold enough versatility to go up against any odds. Though we know little of his intentions, we do know that if he continues to show his courageous spirit, he may just become the new champion this year. However, Tenkai Matsumoto stands in his way, the spitting image of your noble samurai. Having already defeated one skilled swordsman in this tournament by the name of Snow, Tenkai shows that even the eastern katana can still match up to the greats of this age. And so the age old dilemma of knight and samurai is about to be thrown into question as these two contrasting fighters are thrown onto the field together. Whose nobility will win out over the other? Only time will tell."

Snow

vs.

Omi Barsait

"Another upset fight, third place and second place from last year's GTB are pittied against each other to see who will advance on and who will no longer be able to walk to the road of the champion this year. What is very interesting about this fight is the skills each fighter brings to the ring. Snow, as his name suggests, has already shown that he is a great manipulator of water and ice. While the runner up champion, Omi Barsait, has proven time and time again the danger of the fire element. With these two opposing opponents clashing, only the smartest will prevail in what could be said will be one of the other interesting fights of this round."

Esouna Scraizent

vs.

Saphen

"Considered the underdog, the small fairy by the name of Esouna Scraizent has been making quite a fuss around the stadium. People who thought that she was not going to make it this far in the tournament have now been converted to cheering for the little creature. Others are calling it luck and feel that it won't be long before she meets her match. With one loss already, will Esouna finally rise up to the challenge? And a third time contender to the GTB, a veteran you can say to this tournament, is the talented musician Saphen. A bard that has swayed audiences with just the tune of his violin has rekindled his glory by knocking out last year's fourth place Reyin Nova. So whether he will be up to the challenge of taking down a fairy or whether Esouna will cut his tunes once and for all, keep watch."

Vincentius Alaphare

vs.

Deitric Jocasta

"And finally the match that contains last year's champion, who has yet to suffer a loss, will take on the rising behemoth of the tournament, Vincentius. Despite Deitric's fame, Vincentius has been gaining notoriety through his brutal deeds thus far throughout the tournament. After literally biting off James Eradas's arm in round three, this monstrous brute has been both a feared entity and yet a famous ones. Having both fans and enemies, people now wonder whether the thunder-wielding Deitric will be able to face the ferocity of a dragon and whether he will even survive.

"That ends this round's announcement. For the remaining ten fighters, best of luck in your fights. With the tournament having narrowed down to its better fighters, the stakes have been risen and the challenges have just gotten harder. This is your tournament host, Midus Sonners. Goodbye."
