The bulging muscles. Those eight-pack abs. That loyal, fiercely protective character he plays in the Twilight movies. It's easy to see why some women prefer Taylor Lautner, aka Jacob Black, to Robert Pattinson's lanky, brooding Edward Cullen. (Even Kristen Stewart, who plays the sought-after Bella Swan in the series, admits to being on Team Jacob.)(Well who wouldn't right?)
Lautner, who packed on 30 lbs. of muscle for his role in New Moon (which hits theaters on Nov. 20), recently told Us how uncomfortable he is with all the attention his new body is getting. "It's a little bit embarrassing!" he admitted.(Aw!)
Chalk it up to humility, sure, but that embarrassment could also stem from the fact that Lautner is just 17 years old, making any Jacob-centric make-out fantasy by Twilight's largely over-30 female audience downright illegal.(...?)
If that's not enough to have you think twice about making a shirtless Jacob your screen saver, consider the story Lautner told Tyra Banks last year about a 40-year-old woman asking him to sign her "Team Jacob" panties. "Did you do it?" Banks asked. Replied Lautner: "Um, no." Now had a 40-year-old man asked 17-year-old (and Lautner's reported onetime girlfriend) Selena Gomez to do the same, the lech would have been thrown in jail before she could even scream "Security!" (OMG)
And yet most women well past the twilight of their teens have no problem making their lust for Lautner known. Upon hearing that the actor is uncomfortable with all the attention bestowed on his physique, one iVillager said, "So I guess walking up to him and informing him that I wanna lick his eight-pack is out of the question?" "Five more months till he's legal… mmm mmm good!" wrote another in response to Lautner's October Teen Vogue cover.(The whole paragraph has a point...well most of it =D)
In that interview, Lautner admits that his fans are partly reacting to his character (also in high school, FYI), but we're not so sure that makes any May-December Lautner fantasy any less icky.(Again...?)
We guess that puts us on Team Edward who's 23, by the way, and perfectly legal (Puhleeeeze...Team Taycob furevr!)
