Hard polytheist here. Slightly monistic, in a way, in the sense that I believe the gods have ultimate shared parentage.

Hard Polytheist, myself, as well as a Panentheist. The Source is transcendant, and also immanent.
Do I believe anything 'rules the heavens'? No. Merely that all things - gods, people, planets, stars, wombats, etc. - come from the Source.

I at least recognize most every pantheon as having their own realm and for the most part their own mortal people for which they are responsible. Used to that the different pantheons had their own little sections of earth to look after, now the lines are less geographical and more ideological with mortals and deity's forming relationships based on individual compatibility.
Yes that means for me I also recognize Jehovah and the other beings of that pantheon, as well as their realms of heaven and hell. I just choose to have as few dealings with them as possible due to incompatible ideologies.
Been hearing more and more about this concept of the Source and am curious to hear more about the origins of that concept. Had been pondering something I /think/ might be similar on my own, the theory going along the lines of there being at one point a single entity who in a search for the meaning of it's own existence chose to become an numerable number of entities.

Davar... Gerald Gardner wrote about a being called the "Prime Mover", and Scott Cummingham expressed as "The One', and others call it the "Source" or the "All".
How people view it though can vary. Personally I see it as more of an "universal" energy from which all things are formed. I believe that there is an "ultimate" God and Goddess that are polar manifestations of this energy, and that all other Gods/Goddesses are but aspects of these 2, but I also believe that these other aspects are completely individual beings, and not interchangeable. (which makes me soft poly w/ a hard poly shell xd )

I don't use names for the Gods...it just always seemed unnecessary to me.
My words will reach whoever - or whatever - they are intended to. That, I have faith in...

i believe that all gods and goddesses, lords and ladies are all in the same to explain all gods are one god and all goddesses are one goddess. it depends on the idividuals needs. for instance maiden mother crone are all stages of life for a female, she is,has been or will be one of these at one point of her life, but she will also may be called other names, aka jane doe, sister, friend, teacher,co worker, a nick name, even the occasional hey you but in the end she is many things to many people but she is still the same female. now she may be or act differently as each title is different but then again we wouldnt want ms jane doe whose nickname(for example purposes only)is butterfingers due to having used to much butter on her toast, to be called that when shes working as a doctor about to perform surgery. the same is with the lord. different but the same. personally i feel more pull with hecate and persephone and hades, they incompass all the stages of life and death. but in gathering i usually stay with lord and lady

silvara1 i believe that all gods and goddesses, lords and ladies are all in the same to explain all gods are one god and all goddesses are one goddess. This is called "soft polytheism" ^_^ Quote: personally i feel more pull with hecate and persephone and hades, they incompass all the stages of life and death. Pardon this question, I find it difficult to phrase without being inadvertantly offensive. Why do you suppose you feel a pull to these deities if you don't believe they exist in and of themselves? How can they pull to you particularly if they are the same deity as, say, Bast and Baron Samedi?

silvara1 for instance maiden mother crone are all stages of life for a female, she is,has been or will be one of these at one point of her life Really? Infertile women who don't adopt take on the mother role? What about women who die early in life - how do they assume the crone role?

You could say I'm Soft Polytheistic, Seeing as I use the term Lord and Lady. But the only reason I use those terms is because I believe in One god and One goddess, who's names have yet to be reviled.
On a side note. I'm glad I opened up this thread. It's nice to learn more about what other people think on the matter of Their Gods, seeing as so long ago it was pagan religion vs. pagan religion 90% of the time.
Hurray for Acceptance and Uniting! xDD

So wait, Lucas, do you believe in two specific deities, or two deities who sort of "appear" as, or are interpreted as, all the other deities?

To the one that I serve I'm not sure what I am any more. I believe that there is a great spirit or supreme being who is the ultimate creator. I call this being Alshara. I believe Alshara then had two children (a God and Goddess) who then gave birth to all other deities. I believe that the God and Goddess I worship both have many forms, but are themselves. I believe this God and Goddess are sometimes confused with other deities as they may have similar natures depending on which "aspect" you call upon. I believe all other deities to be distinct individual beings not aspects of this God and Goddess. I do occasionally worship other deities (mostly Nordic and Greek) as well as these primary deities, but again they are not the same. So what does that make me? I will give my all
