Ok, um. I've been not on alot lately due to computer issues. But that's not the main deal at hand with this thread. See, well. It's a various topic dealie so bear with me here.

Anywho, I've been trying to catch up on all the mess going on and as I try to sift through everything with my ADD self and try to let everything sink in, I realize that everything is so complex around here these days. (curses for having the attention span of a small child) I mean I understand that things are nice when there formal and organized, but do we really need such? Our guild revolves around the simple concept of a game. Not an organization, not a complex roleplay. A game. We have subforums we don't need but hell we've gotten used to 'em being around even though things feel a bit spacey these days. I sorta support a trial merge but that's just me and a handful. But not everyone supports it. And just because not everyone constantly posts doesn't mean they're not around or don't care. It just means they're busy or don't have a open opinion on the matter at hand.

What I'm trying to say is, would being a bit more simple be alright? I mean, cut some of the stuff we have going now. Petitions I'm starting to feel we don't really need...maybe. I'm a bit dumb but I'm just speaking my thoughts before they decide to fly away. This guild is a very close guild and has been for a long time. We have a handful of constant regulars and maybe some part-timers and some people who wander back to check things out and you and me both know we have alot of open minded members whose opinions we should respect despite how they may say them. See, if a good suggestion is tossed around and really gets rolling, maybe it should be moved into the main forum and stickied or whatever and people can openly discuss it, as we know people tend to be too lazy to check other subforums at times (I am guilty of this sometime, I'll admit it). If it gets popular enough or has enough oomph behind it we could maybe go through with it after a bit more discussion over it. Keep it open with the guild, not hiding away in crew to discuss the pros and cons. But if someone is against it, their opinion should be considered and respected then discuss possible workaround to have it where everyone's happy.

Though I know it's hard or even impossible to make everyone happy. But usually what happens when people are unhappy is people leave and that's one of the issues this guild is having; it's slowly dying. But there's more than just unhappy people leaving that's causing it is obvious. But at least considering and respecting everyone would cause the process to potentially slow down. Then again I don't think we have many unhappy people leaving but still, just a consideration.

Back on the topic of complexity, one thing about the current guild complexity of things is...well...what all the crew does. I know there's a thread about it in the one sub forum but I'd prefer putting this here for the moment. See, the main reason I took the job of being crew was to help the members when they needed or wanted it. Sorta as a counselor of sorts, maybe. Or just to solve serious disputes or issues in a peaceful mannerism. But these days from the way I see it, it's more of an enforcement or something. Having say so in a part of a petition, potentially being able to veto it; locking down the guild when somethings up, and probably other things I miss due to laziness ADD not being around.

Maybe it's just I'm a simple guy or I'm just too soft. Maybe I don't need to be crew and leave it to the tough organized people and just go back to my lax ways of droving from one mmo to another or whatever I do. But I do respect that people had faith enough in me to put me where I am, so I thought maybe I should at least be more of a helpful crew and speak out a bit more towards improving the state of the guild. I'll try and put more of a dedication towards the guild than I have been, despite short term crew may be up soon, though I forget when it does to be honest.

Final Somewhat Unrelated Note~
I apologize for the big fat wall of text but I feel if I don't spill my guts all at once I won't even feel like typing it up later, so better to get it out now rather than hit back and never reconsider posting this. I also apologize for not posting in every thread here despite the procedure but I will honestly say I do read every thread here when I can. ~

Nearly 2 months and not a reply to this. I think my enthusiasm to do anything probably dropped when no one really replied to this, but I won't settle with blaming my own shortcomings on that. That would be irresponsible of me.

But I will say this, though my time as kroo is probably almost over as short term is ending soon, I do hope you guys consider trying to see what I was trying to say here. I look back on it and may be a bit odd or off but I think I was hitting around some things that could be discussed or looked into.

The guild's lifespan, complexity of things around here, and other things. This was probably a too broad of a topic, but I did put my heart into this when I did type it up.

I wont whine about people not replying here though cause I haven't been the biggest replier to topics either, even when I'm urged to myself. Gotta love hypocrisy.

I completely agree that we really need to define crew's job. The older our guild gets, the more stuff we seem to be adding to their long list of duties and when people don't do those duties, it gets frustrating.

The problem is that whenever we ask for feedback on anything unless it's a big hairy issue, it gets ignored and no one replies to it for months. If the replies we do get are positive and we decide to go forward with the idea, we get a wave of naysayers who didn't bother responding to the thread in the beginning and now feel like they're being wronged and ignored even though they had plenty of time to give their input on the matter. It's kind of a lose-lose situation.

It's even been going on here in the kroo forum. Whenever I ask a question about what you guys think needs to be done to get the masquerade up and running, it gets ignored. How are we supposed to be expected to get anything done when no one has any input to add until after the fact?

It seems that we're slowly getting what our job should be with the most recent topic about what should kroo do. We probably should have had such a topic a bit back so we could have handled things better this time around, it was assumed we already knew what we had to do.

Yeah I know how it is. I'm guilty of never really responding to such but I usually only respond when I disagree things but that's just me. Though it's funny that anytime plans are pushed through it's like you said; a wave of naysayers suddenly show up outta the blue and just wrecks everything, even though the situation at hand has been discussed for a while before the effects of the discussion are pushed live.

Yeah I apologize for my negligence here as well. But I've mentioned this time and time again so I'ma quit being a broken record. I'll be honest that I haven't been to dedicated to the whole masquerade event though so I probably have no right to say much about it. Though it would be interesting to see more than just a handful of people working on it. Maybe some non-kroo mates who are interested to help as well? -shrug-
