What games and consoles did you like as a kid? How did that help you to become the awesome gamer you are today? Take a little trip back down memory lane and recall the best/worst/embarassing/etc. moments of your early gaming career.

I remember a cousin of mine gave me and my brother an original Nintendo. We had Metroid, one of the Zelda games and the first Final Fantasy. Probably the earliest I remember. Unless Donkey Kong was earlier. I can't remember. sweatdrop

NES games I can remember playing:

-Duck Hunt
-Super Mario Bros 1-3
-The Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link (both I never finished cause I was so lost and confused)
- Contra (Konami Code, ftw!)

...And I guess I can finish my listing later cause I gotta get ready for work lol

When my dad used to go on a lot of deployments, he'd bring back goodies and stuff. One from a trip to Singapore he brought back a 4-in-1 game for the Sega Genesis, one of the games included was Double Dragon XD

My grandma also had a 50 games in 1 for the NES, and the only game I can immediately recall on it right now was called Twin Bee. I think Donkey Kong was on it too. (Didn't really like the old Donkey Kong games, just never got into them really)

I played most of the basics on the NES. My bro and I failed at Final Fantasy because of all the inexplicable glitches (and not knowing how to revive dead people, maybe because we didn't go to church IRL at the time, hur hur).

There are three games that I have huge amounts of nostalgia for that few people seem to remember. Two were Sega games-- Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force II-- and the other was for the SNES. It was called the 7th Saga, and it's still the hardest game I've ever played, harder than any Megami Tensei game. I spent many hours playing this with my brother and after downloading a ROM to try it again, I can't imagine how we ever got as far as we did. Hilariously, my aunt has beaten it multiple times and is always trying to give me tips on how to beat it, to this day. (Yeah, she's awesome.)

Never head of Final Fantasy before 7 came out and while I've tried playing the older ones I haven't been able to get into them. Will try sometime in the future though. I remember Phantasy Star and Shining Force, though I've never played it. Never head of 7th Saga, but your aunt is truly awesome! The closest thing I ever had to that was watching my female older cousin play Warcraft 2 on the computer. That's how I got hooked (oh and the demo of WC1 prior to that).

The only game I ever played on Sega Saturn was Magic Knights Rayearth LOL

Man, I am totally brainfarting on the NES games I've played. SNES is a little easier: LoZ: A Link To the Past, F-Zero, some Ranma 1/2 fighting game...umm *blank* Gonna have to Wiki some of the titles up and see if they jog my memory lol

I've been doomed to FF fandom since infancy, basically. lol

Shining Force II is surprisingly difficult in the beginning! I think it's the source of my love for SRPGs. Phantasy Star wasn't too bad, except for the fact that you had to try spells to find out what effect they had because there were no descriptions of their effects and their names were incredibly unhelpful.

Warcraft 2 is a huge source of nostalgia for me, since I used to play it en masse with my friends, and sometimes with my brother and his friends. We found out how to hack our own sound clips into the game and had all the peasant units saying offensive things for our own amusement.

I got stuck in the MKR game and haven't played it since. (I am a huge, pathetic MKR fan, though, by the way)

Link to the Past is such a comfortable game for me, like a favorite shirt. I've played it so many times but it never stops being fun.

I could make an actual list of early games I played, but it would probably be kinda long. Maybe later.

The first game I ever played was Alundra. I beat a puzzle my parents were trying to beat. I was in the fourth grade and after that, they let me play video games.

My next game I beat was the original Wild Arms. *sniffs copy* TAT Ah, the memories.

Okay! Embarrassing moment! I dunno what Zelda this was, but it was for the Gameboy Color. It had something to do with a whale and collecting the insturments to wake it up. O.O

If you stole from the store and re-entered, the merchant would zap you to death. Unbeknown to be, I had stopped playing for a few days and in the mean time my sister stole from the shop, used up all my items and brought me down to three hearts. When I restarted it, I found that all out and went to the store to buy stuff only to die XD

I thought it was my brother for a week before she broke down and told me it was her. By then, I had done the same to my poor brother XD

ROFLMAO

That would be The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (The first game in the series I ever finished and is my personal favorite)

Yeah, I was pretty traumatized the first time I stole from the shop cause that laser was pretty freakin' scary! It might've been embarrassing for you, but that definitely brought back some awesome memories for me. And...the Wind Fish...is just this big ugly whale. I was so disappointed LOL
