How many here have used a pendulum in their divination? How do you so it? What is your pendulum made of? Any materials work better for you than others?
I use them fairly often. They are great for yes / no answers. I have a mat with yes/ no/ maybe/ask again embroidered on it.
My circle of solitary friends and I use them sometimes in conjunction with spirit boards. We find we have better luck using the pendulum for getting answers than the planchette sometimes. The ones that work best for me are silver chains with either amythyst or tree agate weights. One of my friends uses a wooden one, another a gold spiraled wire that comes to a point. I have also used string with my wedding ring tied to the end.
Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.

To the one that I serve I have a tigers eye pendulum and a silver pendulum that I use. I dont use them as often as other things. I have found I can use most pendulums with out any problem. I remember I bought my mom her amatheyst pendulum for Mother's day a few years ago. I don't use a mat. I basically hold my hand still. I ask it to show me yes, to show me know and to show me maybe. Then I ask my questions and I have my answer. Sometimes the pendulum answers surprise me. I will give my all

I work best with quartz, though I really like amethyst pendulums for the look. I tend to use them a lot for finding things, though I also use them for yes or no questions. I generally hold my hand as steady as possible, and the direction it goes is the one I follow.

I make them, but I don't use them. I prefer Tarot and Oracle cards as my method of divination. I find them extremely gorgeous.
I have two: One I've converted into a necklace. It's a small crystal quartz piece. Its 5 or 6 sided that tapers down into a point. Its string is the stretch string that has beads that match Chakra colors in chakra order and a butterfly bead that is where you would hold it. I simply put a chain through the wire loophole where the string is threaded through so the string hangs down under the crystal. It looks quite lovely and possibly the only creative thing I've made that turned out good enough for me to be proud of.
My second one was more personal. I used the same shape crystal (They were bought at Michaels) but this one is amethyst. The beads are a metallic painted purple alternating with Tiger Eye beads. Since Tiger Eye is one of my favorite stones. This one I'm thinking about converting to jewelry too although I am not sure yet.
The only qualm I have is that most the beads are made of plastic.
I definately should start out using the pendulum again. 3nodding I do remember having a lot of fun when I first started.

I'm not a big fan of pendulums, although I do have a malachite and silver one. I feel that they're not random enough to be accurate, and using a stand, I found out, just makes them way too inconclusive to be accurate.
That being said, I do use my hand as a pendulum to find things or people. Maybe more accurately a compass than a pendulum.
Also, I did a series of YouTube videos for the Supernatural forum with my pendulum.

"THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental."--The Kybalion. Has any one found that different pendulums will have a different motion for yes and no than others? By the power of the mind much is possible

I have one I carved from antler. It has a smokey quartz as a cap. My other is moss agate, which is one of the stones that is especially sacred to me.

By the power of the mind much is possible Definitely; different motion in general, too. My copper pendulum has much more definite and decisive movement than my quartz.

I use the pendulum to find things that I've lost. My two stones that work are Hematite and Rose Quarts on just a normal chain. You ask it where it is and it will saw in the direction you need to go, and when you get close enough it will start to circle. That is how you know you are in the right place. I've done this more than I would like to admit and it seems to work every time.

I use my pendulums all the time. Usually I'll use them with a letters mat, and they spell out words for me. I find this the easiest method when it comes to understanding them.
I actually have two, an amethyst (Ramus), and a lace agate (Bazal). Ramus is good for asking most types of questions, and Bazal is good for answering questions, as well as connecting with specific spirits. I like them a lot. When I was in high school, I used Ramus for the first time, and he didn't respond to me much. I trained with him when I was in college, and once when I started to think of him as a partner, versus a tool, he opened himself up to me, so to speak, and I was able to use him much better. With Bazal, I could use him right off the bat with no training required.

I've had a number of pendulums and the energy of each was different and reacted differently with my own energy. Thus why some I'd get no or little response from and others were very reactive and animated with their movement.
I've used everything from store bought, to gifted, to a necklace converted for the purposes and a few I've made. The one that responds best is one I made from a bit of beaded chain, an obsidian arrow head and a abalone pendant carved into the shape of a flower. The chain is long enough to allow both ends to move freely.
Though mine doesn't just swing, it'll jump, twitch and dance, sometimes in harmony with and sometimes contrary to the other end, when using both. Not to mention it'll swing in patterns other then the basics. Which means I've also had to use intuition and some divination to figure out just what all the different movements mean.
