His Dark Materials consist of:
The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass.
Did anyone enjoy reading these despite what they were about? Or were you put off by them?
I personally think people were going a bit too nuts over this series. Especially those attempting to get it banned. I actually liked the series. I'm not a religious person so that maybe the reason it didn't bother me or the fact I didn't take any of it to heart. But I did enjoy it for the scenes laid out and the characters. I'd have to say the 2nd book was actually my favorite and i think that's were it really takes off.

I have only read the Golden Compass and enjoyed it a lot. I am a Christian but fictional books don't ever challenge my beliefs. And I do know how the story ends, even though I have only read the first book but I do want to get the last two and finish it.
What ever happened to the other movies? As far as I know only the first one has been made...

Ronzer Bayleaf I have only read the Golden Compass and enjoyed it a lot. I am a Christian but fictional books don't ever challenge my beliefs. And I do know how the story ends, even though I have only read the first book but I do want to get the last two and finish it. What ever happened to the other movies? As far as I know only the first one has been made... I'd like to see the finish of the movies for the series as well. Though i have the feeling it will never happen. It would be nice though
